Any piece of equipment you currently dream of ?

Which can be within your reach.

For me it’s Studer deck. I just can't justify the expense, at least not yet.

@ronboco

Thank you both…i’m in early exploring mode. Whatever resting point speaker i arrive at will end up in a well sorted room.  I will likely PM you both about ownership, support, power requirements, etc…

@grislybutter Let me know when your Goodwill drop off run is…. i wanna have cash in hand….

@tomic601 the day when you finally stop evading me and come over for dinner, I will have the goodwill cash blush

Upgrading my Denafrips Pontus II DAC to the new Denafrips Venus 15th gen DAC.

A listening room big enough for my pair of Magneplanar Tympani T-IVa loudspeakers. At a little over 4' wide apiece, and with 8' between them and at least 2' between each and their sidewalls, that's a room width of no less than 20'. For depth it's at least 5' from the panels to the front wall, 8' from the panels to the listening position, and at least 5' from that position and the rear wall, for a minimum depth of 18'.

Actually, occasionally I find myself wishing I still had my old Infinity RS-iibs that were severely water damaged during an Army move within what was then West Germany.  Oh, I am sure that my Fyne Audio F-702 speakers outshine them, but I wonder if the more modern amplifiers and cabling available could make them really shine again--and they looked pretty darned good in the living rooms of our abodes in Heidelberg and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, in Virginia, and in Pennsylvania.  Other than that, perhaps a half-power version of the McIntosh MC-451 Dual Mono power amplifier, with say 75 watts and 150 watts for the tube and solid state output sections for my current speakers ... and that might also weigh a big less than its current 133 pounds!

I have always admired the Dhalquest DQ-10 speakers. They display the crossover components rather than treating them like indecent exposure. I remember hearing how clear and detailed they sound. Unfortunately, they are too wide to fit in my home and, more important, Magnepan .7 speakers that fit outclass the DQ-10's while fitting in my limited space.

@mike4597

+1 on the vintage Infinity

I have a pair of original RS-II. I rebuilt (and modestly upgraded) the crossovers.

They are excellent speakers that imo outshine a lot of what's on the market today, when they're in good nick that is.

They need a LOT of power if they're going to give their best though. I have Classé monoblocks driving them, they're a good match but honestly big Krells wouldn't be out of place.

IRS Beta next...?

Last piece for me is BACCH. I built my system around its principles and got a chance to listen to it at AXPONA last year. . . Mind blowing.

Currently dreaming of the kit i am saving for, and dreaming of a second system

Boulder 3050

Siltech Symphonies

Wavac 833v2

Wolf von Langa Chicago

Those two are already about my limit, still I won’t buy them (at the moment) as the money would have eaten up a chunk of my retirement savings..

Also, I prefer amps which I can carry alone, unaided. The SIA-030 and Diablo 333 will require two or more strong people to carry.

Yes, I have thought about the Diablo 120 last year, but the Diablo 300 was said to be noticeably or significantly better than the 120 and was recommended over the 120. I have pretty good amps in the system at the moment and actually consider my current Luxman L-590AXII an endgame, but was wondering how the ultimate or  "genuine" endgame would perform.

A pair of BMC M3 monos for $16,000

2nd place is a pair of AGD Audion monos for $8,500 a pair.

This is gonna sound silly but I dream of owning 2 new Audio Envy Expanded Ocean power cords. Barely $300 a pop. Not a lot of money to a lot of us. But my spending has been crazy the last 3 months and I need to hit full break for a bit.

"Just a little bit more couldn't hurt" is a dangerous devil devil

@samureyex Depending on what your motives are, your ears will tell you when you're done. I'm there now but can't resist hunting for that "next thing" -just part of my nature.

@rivington66

The MX-110 is a C22 with a tuner in it, sounds the same and costs a tiny fraction of the C22 - I should know as I have owned both but presently only own the MX-110.

I'll play
