How much do I need to spend to make vinyl sound better than digital?
Phone will still work in most cases, just disengage the wi-fi. The sound won't be too good, though. $1k phono stage will sound better than $12k phono stage only if the latter is not turned on. The other theoretical possibility is that $12k price ...
Does other Audiogon members' opinion carry any weight for you ?
True point of this thread is unknown to me, it just came to mind and so I posted it.

Such an emotional response from you two. What if I am right on both counts ? Think about it.

Phono stage should cost two or better three times more than the cartridge. This means $1500 phono stage for $500 cartridge, if my math is correct. And with tube phono stage tubes matter a lot as well, of course. It is hard to see a good analogue s...

Phono stage is extremely important. Some Japanese CDs do sound relatively good, and my old CEC TL5100Z player is not too bad, but vinyl always sounds better with Nottingham table, often much better.
Vinyl Me Please...well, not anymore
Better get into master tape dubs than into this faceless digital future. Well, for analogue recordings, of course.
Speakers for leading edge, transients, speed and big sound
Avantgarde, perhaps.
Would you buy a tube amp if you were unable to use vintage tubes in it ?
"vintage" also may imply that something became a classic and has a historical value. So I will call only excellent old tubes vintage not all of them. Yeah, signal tubes from 50s or even late 40s.
Integrated Amp Pairing for Harbeth 30.2
I always suggest Gryphon Diablo 300 unless there is a reason not to. I see no reason here, except that I have never heard Harbeth/Gryphon pair. Should be great, but it's my guess. Gryphon Dac and phono stage are excellent.
Big problem / bottleneck in my chain
It's most likely cables or Mac or both.

Larry, I see, so I won't play with step down transformers, I guess, though it could be interesting. mulveling, Kevin does like certain vintage Mullards and Sylvanias.
Vinyl Care
Yeah, I bought Last directly from them, and even talked to the owner - he was a big tape fan. I didn't try his Stylus cleaner, I use Lyra with seemingly excellent results.

I see, complicated subject regarding amp designs and how gentle or not the amps are on tubes. I won't bother the VAC designer with these questions, especially considering that his answers won't change anything for me. I will continue with the best...
NOS EL34 becoming extinct
Before switching to Mullard EL34 XF2 a few months ago I was using SED Svetlana Winged C's in my VAC Avatar SE integrated. They were alright but nothing more, the Mullards are far better in every respect. Besides, one SED failed after 700 hours, I ...

I also use Last record preservative after cleaning. In fact, treated records even sound a touch better, I did compare a few, And I use Last tape head preservative with my Nakamichi deck. This is a great stuff, but you have to apply it frequently.
