Norah Jones
Whats playing on your system today?
Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.
I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....
Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....
Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Hi Geoff: Robert Ludwig was the original mastering engineer for this album and arranged to cut deep grooves for better dynamics. The story (myth?) is that Ahmet Ertegun's daughter's record player could not track it so Ertegun ordered it remastered (not by Ludwig) and repressed which reduced dynamics. The early versions have RL written in the deadwax. |
nutty , I just got back from san fransico at a big vinyl swap.I remembered you when i came across 4 Budgie albums 1 was 50.00 and the other 3 were 100 each.I didnt get them them but i remember you guys talking about them .little too pricey. Tonight i listened to Marillion ....Script for a Jesters Tear.. Genesis.... A trick of the tail Steely Dan... aja Then my toddler was beating on the door.. |
oldschool, Too bad about the prices on the LP’s. Wow! Budgie has some great music. They do have a Best of Budgie on Amazon, CD I believe. All of my Budgie media is from download. Budgie, 1971 Squawk, 1972 Never turn your back on a friend, 1973 In for the kill, 1974 Bandolier, 1975 Impeckable, 1978 Power supply, 1980 Nightfright, 1981 Deliver us from evil, 1982 The definitive Anthology, 1996 You’re all in living cuckooland, 2006 Thanks for thinking of me, Budgie and the music that "Everyone" has contributed to this thread! Enjoy the music. "Reaper of the glory" https://youtu.be/es9OFfrA2Lo N |
mmusicman, I give.... whats the band? Tonight I'm going with Bulletboys, Freekshow, CD. It's like if Van Halen all had children and they grew up and formed a band,,,,recorded an albumn,,, this is what it would sound like. "Hang on St. Christopher" https://youtu.be/821fZCsFbsE N |
I believe he was involved with Kindom Come . Nutty I did alot of roadie and live sound in the 80s We partied with the Bullet Boys many times along with many 80s bands like them bang tango, la guns, etc many many more... funny and of course our local boys Kix "oh the stories lol" \ tonight Marillion Fugazi Montrose Paper Money Ufo live |
Oleschool is correct. After Stone Fury failed to attract much attention on the charts after two albums, Lenny Wolf switched record labels and formed Kingdom Come which as you may know hit it big time. If you come across "Burns like a Star", grab it as it is 80's metal to the hilt and Lenny has a pretty killer voice. As for the party scene, I've had beers with the guys in Jackyl, met the guys in Nazareth and Candlebox. |
oleschool, Sounds like the 80’s were a lot of work and fun for you. I have a lot of 80’s media and like alot of music from that period. I have Kingdom Come S/T, great CD. Great set list also. "Paper Money" being the last Montrose featuring Sammy and "UFO Live" is one of my favorite live recordings (And Tull, "A little Light music"). nmmusicman, I’ll look into you recommendation. I’ve not heard it. Always looking for new music. Love Jackyl, saw them twice. I listed Jesse James Dupree as one of my all time favorite front men and vocalist. I have one Nazareth, great band. Huge Candlebox fan too. At one show, someone from the crowd tossed a Viking helmet on stage, it didn’t fit so he duct taped it onto his head for several songs! My fav song from them is "Rain". Definitely. Here’s a link to a fantastic live version. It is smokin hot. https://youtu.be/dvU8AWFqGGE Thanks again for posting, Everyone! N |
Katmandu, S/T, CD 1991. This one isn't a solid CD but one track stands out by light years. Its great. Driving drumms, searing guitar and howling vocals. Vocalist Dave King from "Fastway"....Guitarist Mandy Meyer from "Krokus and Asia"...drummer Mike Alonso of "Flogging Molly"... "When the rain comes" is a classic. https://youtu.be/lkR7PWw2DJM N |
Glass Moon - self-titled first album from 1980. GREAT STUFF!😎 https://youtu.be/0UZz8z_E-hU https://youtu.be/eIQdk0H5q2E https://youtu.be/LcEa08qjzTI |

I had a lot of catching up to do! nmmusicman- Stone Fury is great. Don’t know how they got past me back in the day. Your a Crue fan? I’m not a big one. But I do have the 1994 S/T disc without Vince. It’s recorded great and has some solid tracks. I know Marrion, have you heard of Trillion? jafant- I dig Tracy. Did you catch the cover of "Give me one reason" by Leslie West on his "Soundcheck"? The whole disc is great. oleschool - I’m a huge April Wine fan. Heard just about everything and have several of theirs. Y&T was great, "Summertime girls", who could forget. Need to dig into the Tigers of Pentang and Ozric Tenecles.(did I spell that correctly. ;-) astro58go- My wife loves Miles so he gets pleanty of airtime. I saw you listened to Queen. One of my favorite bands ever. Saw them in Cincinnati before we lost Freddie M. |
