Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Erich Leinsdorf conducts Beethoven - Piano Concerto No. 5 In E-Flat, Op. 73 ("Emperor"). Boston Symphony Orchestra w/Arthur Rubinstein, piano. RCA Victor Red Seal reissue, believe early 70’s, originally 1963

@j_husker I’ve been wanting to get to the in groove for awhile. Glad you got the chance.   Seems like a great store.  I see on YouTube all the thousands of used records he takes in and he seems like a true enthusiast.  Ive bought quite a few records from him online - figuring he’s owed the business when his videos are how I find out about many issues.   Home Depot box huh…?   Hope it had good padding inside.   Will look forward to hearing more about your score.

Patrick Watson - Love Songs for Robots

this is new to me.   Streaming it now and really enjoying it.  Thanks for posting.  Keep ‘em coming.

@pratorious

Bis ans Ende der Welt - original filmmusik

Wim Wenders!   Good flick and what a great collection of music.  Run Out Groove issue my wish list now.

@spiritofradio

Yes! This is OG German 1991 single disc. I am curious about the run out groove two disc. Great music great production and much original music only for film like Can’s “Last Night Sleep”.

ELO  -  Face The Music   Very early pp I have had since back in the day.  sounds pretty good and a great album.  ELO has been on this thread a bit recently so had to pull this copy and play it.

Dianna Krall  -  The Look Of Love   I received this two weeks ago and played it only once.  Time to play it again.  Outstanding recording and pressing.  Excellent music.  Just sit back and relax.  Beautiful!

Eclectic night…

Bob Marley and the Wailers: Legends

Simon and Garfunkel: A Bridge Over Troubled Water

Sade: Love Deluxe

1977 Janus

This record hits my sweet spot, finishes nicely with Guitar Hero.

@bslon +1 on Charlie.  Underappreciated group.  Not flashy but at times just the thing.  My theory is they don’t get respect they deserve because it generally hard to believe such great album covers could contain equally great music…..

 I listened to my Latino ST-70 last night. I LOVE those 7581's in it. I'm convinced that there is no better amp under $2k and will compete with higher $$$

Molly Hatchet - 1st ST - an under rated band IMO

ZZ Top - Rio Grande Mud - London records

@bslon

Layla Zoe - Breaking Free - A new favorite - Fantastic artist & album

Steve Miller - Book of Dreams

38 Special - Special Forces

Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story (MFSL CD)

Hey James the Korppoo Trio had caught my eye earlier.

Arrived today,

Brandy Clark "Your Life is a Record"

@spiritofradio

How do you like that Scriabin set? I have that, cannot remember if you asked for a recommendation. I don’t play it often, but find it very nice indeed.

Also that Franck. I only have spun it once, but IIRC, enjoyed it. Lot.

@bkeske I bought it awhile ago after you gave me the idea.   I think there was some discussion about the composer together with @tomic601.   I got NM records in a beat up box.  I really like it.

Franck is one of my favorite composers although there isn’t that much of his work available so I usually buy anything I see of his if it’s decent grade.  Really like that album too.

@slaw Cool.  I hope you enjoy it.  It’s not exactly easy listening.   Kind of bridges the gap between angular and challenging on the one hand and soft and beautiful on the other.  YMMV of course.

Othmar F. M. Mága conducts Ignaz Moscheles - Piano Concerto In G Minor, Opus 58 / Etudes, Opus 70 / Characteristic Etudes, Opus 95. Philharmonia Hungarica w/Michael Ponti, piano. Candide 1969

Steely Dan - Katy Lied

Really like this album but wish there was a decent pressing. I have two copies, both Kendun (which I have read is the best pressing) and both sound too dark to me.

The Hissing Of Summer Lawns - Joni Mitchell

👍🏼 An often overlooked LP from Joni.

James - Yes it was me, my conductor buddy in WA was on a Scriabin binge…so i bought some for both of us. None of them play better than ex but i am going to rerun thru Degritter and cherry pick a few and pass rest on to him…. it was a fun deep dive…

Reiner conducts Brahms - Violin Concerto In D, Op. 77. Chicago Symphony Orchestra w/Jascha Heifetz. RCA Red Seal reissue, guessing early 60’s (shaded dog), originally 1955, Canadian release

McCoy Tyner - Live at Newport. This is a bit of a disappointment. The shipper did a terrible job packing it and all four corners got dinged up in shipping. It's a limited edition of 210/500 pressings. It's on clear "audiophile vinyl" that looks kind of like the Classic Records clear vinyl, but it's got some noise here and there.

Better Oblivion Community Center - S/T

Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers

Excellent.

Mehta conducts Scriabin - Poem Of Ecstasy, Op. 54 & Schoenberg - Transfigured Night, Op. 4. Los Angeles Philharmonic. London 1967

David Gray - "Mutineers"

Again! There are some fine songs on this album. Some of his best IMHO. And it's All Killer, No Filler! But the kicker is the final 4 songs from the album:

"Birds of the High Arctic", "The Incredible", "Girl Like You" and "Gulls"

If you're a fan and don't know the record, take a listen. If you aren't familiar with David Gray, take a listen. If you don't have time for the whole album, start at "Birds of the High Arctic" and take a listen to those last 4 tracks. Heavenly to me...

Luciano Pavarotti-Luciano Side 2 SQ Audiophile

J.Geils Band-"Live" Full House Side 2

Susannah McCorkle-No More Blues(CJ-370) Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Bryan Adams-Into The Fire Side 1

Elvis Presley-He Touched Me Side 1

Aerosmith-Classics Live Side 2

Linda Ronstadt-Don't Cry Now Side 2

Marian McPartland-At The Festival(CJ-118) Side 2 SQ Audiophile

McPartland takes the SQ Crown edging out Pavarotti might be demo quality. Ronstadt SQ was not up to her other recordings, mastering info not on album. "Full House" what a great classic rock LP with good SQ! The religious side of Elvis reminded me of a Blackwood Brothers recording, more Elvis less chorus.

Johnny Smith's eponymous album. It was a gift from a friend who is a jazz guitarist and says Johnny Smith had a big impact on his style and study.

Hey @gardners501 great to see you back here again.

Bill Evans - At The Montreux Jazz Festival
