ELO - Out Of The Blue

1977 UA/Jet Records early pressing

Hadn't listened to this one in years. Great album for ELO fans and SQ on this pressing is super. Took me by surprise. .

Happy New Year to all. Health and Happiness!

Traffic - Shootout At The Fantasy Factory

1973/2021 Island Records RM

Nice pressing. Very good SQ.

+1 for The Healer.

Muddy Waters - Hard Again

1977 Blue Sky Records

Great version of Mannish Boy with Johnny Winter yelling in the background.

@dayglow    Thanks for the info on The Magazine. I was not aware. While the SQ is very good it would be difficult to compete with the high bar set by her first self titled album and Pirates that are absolutely stunning.

Rickie Lee Jones - The Magazine

Original WB 1984 US pressing.

Recent NM find at a LRS for $5. Great album. Great SQ.

Crosby, Stills and Nash - CSN

1977 - Early Atlantic pressing.

I hadn't listened to this in years and with it being so overshadowed by their first album I forgot just how good this album is. Enjoyed it so much I played it twice back to back. Great SQ also.

Natalie Merchant - Paradise Is There

Nonesuch Records 2015

I had listened to this a number of times streaming and just picked up the Dual LP.

Wow! Sounds absolutely fantastic. What a gem!

Dire Straits - Love Over Gold

1982 - Vertigo Records

I’ve always thought that all of my early original Dire Straits pressings sounded great but this record is special. Outstanding sound quality. Probably their least commercial or radio friendly album that doesn’t hurt either. Fantastic album.

Radiohead - Hail To The Thief

2003/2021 XL Recordings 45RPM Reissue

The original release in 2003 was on 45 RPM LP’s also. Someone in their camp must have been ahead of the game.

Either way, great SQ on this reissue.

ELO - Eldorado

1974/2022 MFSL 33-1/3 Remaster

Great job by MFSL on this remaster although I always thought my early original United Artists copy sounded great also.

Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water

1970/1982 Columbia Repress

Great SQ on this later repress.

+1 for Heart

Heart - Bebe Le Strange

1980 Epic Records

One of the great voices in Rock

Steve Earle - Copperhead Road

1988 on Uni Records

great duet with Maria McKee on Nothing But A Child

Iron Butterfly In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida

1968/2009 ATCO/Rhino Reissue

There's nothing like a great drum solo.

Grand Funk Railroad - Closer To Home

1970 Capitol Records

They really knew how to showcase the bass guitar on their songs and records.

Beach Boys - Smiley Smile

1967/2022 Analog Productions Mono

Another great job from AP.

The Stone Coyotes - Born To Howl

2001 Red Cat Records

Streaming as they are unfortunately not available on LP.

They are bad to the bone!

Following the lead on a post from a few days ago. I hadn't played this one for quite some time.

The Kinks - The Kink Kronicles

1972 Reprise Records

Early pressing that sounds surprisingly clean and with good SQ.

I agree with @loomisjohnson on his assessment of Ray Davies' skills as a lyricist.

While Paul was writing love songs Ray was writing about life with songs like Shangri-La and Get Back In Line.

Although, I may not be an impartial judge seeing how I was always a Lennon fan.

The Kinks - Arthur Or The Decline and Fall of the British Empire

1969/1975 Reprise Records Reissue

I have a 2014 Cosmos version on Fantasy pressed at QRP that sounds pretty good. It's  the same year as the Analog Productions release and both were pressed at QRP. Same lacquer? Maybe.

Pomp and Circumstance Marches, Op. 39 (Nos. 1 to 5) Sir Edward Elgar

Suite - Things To Come. Welcome To The Queen

Conducted by Sir Arthur Bliss (London Symphony Orchestra)

1958 RCA Victor

Tom Rush - S/T

1970 Columbia Records

The album has seen better days but the SQ is full and detailed.Good low end.

Fleetwood Mac - Live From The Record Plant - December 15, 1974

2020 Warner/Reprise Records

America - S/T First Album

1971 - Early WB Records pressing

Great SQ with clean harmonies and acoustic guitars.

I guess they were all one big happy family. John and Christine, Lindsey and Stevie, Mick and Stevie, etc.

Fleetwood Mac - Tusk

1979 WB Records

I don't get how Mick Fleetwood is rarely mentioned along with the great drummers in Blues and Rock. The guy has been phenomenal though all of the changes in the band and is the best part of many of their songs.

Genesis - ...And Then There Were Three

1978 Atlantic Records

Good album but definitely a loss with Steve Hackett leaving the band.

I was really disappointed when Peter Gabriel went off on his own but I agree with the comments on A Trick Of The Tail. I didn’t know what to expect when it was released and was blown away  with how good it was then and still is. All four guys pulled together with some great song writing.

Genesis - Wind And Wuthering

1976 ATCO

Hadn’t played this one in a very long time. Great album prior to Genesis going more radio friendly. And while You're Own Special Way was a radio hit it really is a great song.

Neil Young - Tonight’s The Night

1975 Reprise Records

Early pressing and it surprising still sounds great.

Great session last night with a friend and fellow music enthusiast. Three or four songs off each album.

Jethro Tull - This Was

1968 Reprise Records

Eric Clapton - EC Was Here

1975 RSO Records

Jeff Beck - Truth

1968/2009 Epic/Sundazed Mono Remaster

Bruce - Darkness On The Edge of Town

1978/2014 Columbia Remaster

Bob Seger - Against The Wind

1980 Capitol Records

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Hard Promises

1981 Backstreet Records

Jackson Browne - The Pretender

1976/1984 Asylum Records Reissue

S & G - Sounds Of Silence

1965/2018 Columbia Remaster

Guns N’ Roses - G N’ R Lies

1988 Geffen Records

Pink Floyd - Animals

1977 Columbia Records

+1 on Boz

Duane Allman and the mystique of Muscle Shoals. It doesn’t get much better than that.

I may be biased when it comes to Dire Straits. I had always thought the production on all of the original pressings was great.

Same goes for Steely Dan!

I can still remember my reaction listening to Do It Again for the first time on the Can’t Buy A Thrill album. I thought it made my BSR system from high school really shine.
