Petty on the streamer..... in a bit of a funk - father in law lost the 6 year running battle with cancer at sunrise today.....

the TT and the effort required to leave my wine glass behind seems insurmountable- I shall return

but Peace....
Sorry for your loss tomic. I lost my father a couple years ago to cancer as well. Tough time for sure & I wish you nothing but the best during it.
@tomic601

sorry for your loss Jim.  From your posts about him we know how very much he meant to you.
Condolences on your and your wife's loss, tomic.

Listened to that promotional album I had by Cheryl Dilcher.  She would likely have had a better career playing more up-tempo music -- voice is OK but can't carry singing ballads.
Tomic
So sorry to hear of your loss, a lot here have been in the same boat I feel.
The wife lost her mother to lung cancer a few years back although to be fair she was likely the poster child for the surgeon generals warnings on smoking kills at 40 a day for 40+ years.
Still it was a blessing for her when she did finally pass, obviously not so much for the ones she left behind.
Stay strong!
Espers “S/T”
Espers “The Weed Tree”
Mekons “The Quality Of Mercy Is Not Strnen” [sic]
Been listening to a lot of jazz/fusion/funk of late.
Think along the lines of.....
Stanley Clarke, Earl Klugh, Al Jarreau, David Grisman,  Back Door etc.
One thing they all have in common is excellent production and SQ.

Try School Days by Stanley Clarke if you want to test the bass response of your system.
Highly addictive!
Wanna push the bass... try Marcus Miller “Laid Back” specifically track #1, Trip Trap & #3, 7-Ts. Sent this album to a buddy to give his Holt Hill Audio Cionnsaile Monitors a workout. By the way HHA makes great stuff & the owners resto/repair work is the best I’ve seen; top quality!!
got these in for later on this week.............

Rhiannon Giddens  w/ Francesco Turrisi "There Is No Other"
Jim James "Uniform Clarity"
Jim James "Eternally Even"
Nike Drake "Family Tree"  SunbeamRecords/mastered @ Abbey Road
slaw, what is your take on  Jim James "Eternally Even"? I was a bit disappointed in the sound quality. Is "Uniform Clarity" recorded better?
@noromance thank you, yes it is...

this came to me

Help me to discern

What is it of comfort

I might provide

The dying

Amidst the

confusion of the living ?

Breath on measured breath

Hand on hand

Iron will on iron will

Help me resolve my own heart

Before his is still

Lord send two angels

To lift him up to you

Ready your cup

To quench his parched lips

Too weary

For

The Lord’s Prayer....

But alive with faith

We shall

Say it for him

For Timothy

@slaw where n is a large number but the “ relationships “ are ruled by the Stones lyrics to Just My Imagination....

” and she doesn’t even know me !!!! “
@boxer12,

I'll post about them in couple days. I had kind of lost track of JJ after "Regions of Light........" I decided to go for "Uniform Clarity" because it is stripped down/acoustic. Hopefully nice SQ?
Spooky Tooth 'The Mirror'
Chris Squire 'fish out of water' bruford, Mel Collins and Moraz (and chris)

The Lord’s Prayer
Roy Harper - Lifemask (Harvest 1973)

So during a trip, Roy wrote a song journey into the human condition while staring at a painting of Geronimo. It’s called The Lord’s Prayer and it takes up a side.
Been a very busy bee this week us cleaning a LOT of older albums that I have had for years.
Now working my way through some of them.

Right now....
Hitch hiking.... Roger Waters.

Next up will be Radio KAOS.

Both spectacular pieces of work.
Good way to end the day.
Pros and Cons hopefully with the uncensored butt.

I saw Rog perform the promo tour in London. Have the program. The Brits thought the censored image was ridiculous.
Great album.
The Tony Rice Unit - Backwaters ( Rounder 0167 )

thanks @bdp24 , this is indeed lovely
Abraxas ..... Santana.

mfsl 1-305.

Took a chance on this on eBay as it was a new zero feedback seller, buyers are usually well protected.
I got my monies worth. It looks and sounds like it has never been played.

Sublime.

Earl Klugh ... Finger Paintings mfsl 1-025 to follow.
