Am I right for this forum?
It didn’t take me long to realize that, in the 4 years I’m been coming to this forum, there is a wide range of money spent on one system versus another.  As the old saying goes, “One person’s ceiling is another person’s floor”, or they don’t even ...
The receiver was my intro to HiFi! What say you?
Same here.  I had been reading electronics mags for a couple of years and really wanted to move on from the old portable record player with speakers I inherited from an older sister, and the table radio.  I was talking to my Mom about Christmas pr...
Ethernet cables
I just bought an Aurender N100 from another member and found that I didn’t have a spare Ethernet cable, so I bought one at Best Buy.  Seems to work fine (but then my system is not as revealing as some here have).
Dog pissed on speaker
Find out what music the dog prefers?
Are there other people like me ? Amazed by their low cost system :)
I think there are different ways to enjoy music.  I enjoy listening to my car radio while driving, which certainly isn’t anywhere near “audiophile”.  When I’m out on the deck or patio, I enjoy listening to my inexpensive Bluetooth speakers.  I can...
Paypal drastic changes
This is such BS.  My guess is that sellers will instead try to make a local sale, in cash only, so there is no record of the transaction.  It happens all the time.
A quick question on what streamers to consider.......
I’ve been wondering about adding a streamer also.  I have a Bluesound Vault 2i that allows streaming from another device, like my phone or tablet, but I wonder about the sound quality when the streaming comes from something like an iPhone.  Aurend...
Why do people like reel to reel players?
A while back I had the opportunity to purchase a reel-to-reel deck from the late 70’s.  I had reel-to-reel during the 70’s and enjoyed it, especially making custom assortment of music, but the thing died long ago.  Even sentimentality wasn’t enoug...
Any recommendation for a CD changer?
I had a Pioneer CD changer with the 6 disc cartridges. It’s about 30 years old now but still works, no problem.  I gave it to my nephew when I got my single disc transport a few years ago.  I don’t think he even uses it.  lol
Do people tire of audio forums?
I’ve only been here for going on 4 years, joining right AFTER I got back into the hobby and bought my first equipment.  I was eager to learn, but I have since learned that consensus on “the way to go” is fleeting, as each person has their favorite...
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HATE FOR THE HIGH END GEAR ON AUDIO GEAR?
Those of us that can’t afford the REAL high end gear want to soothe our regret by saying the products are overpriced and cater to snobs.  Those that can afford the very expensive gear lament that others that cannot afford it do not know what they ...
Martin Logan vs. Everything
We should specify that the Martin Logan’s are only good if they are planar speakers.  I bought the 60XL’s before I knew what I was doing, and no one seems to think much of them.
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HATE FOR THE HIGH END GEAR ON AUDIO GEAR?
I don’t have anything against very high end gear that produces exquisite sounds.  I just don’t know anyone that possesses anything like that.  If a high end audio show was within a reasonable drive from me (say, in Columbus, or Cincinnati), I woul...
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HATE FOR THE HIGH END GEAR ON AUDIO GEAR?
I got back into audio almost 4 years ago, and found and joined this forum shortly after in hopes of learning about all the new things that have come out in the last 40 years.  It has been interesting, but I also found that I am not going to be at ...
At what price is one considered an Audiophile.
Wow, am I late getting on this question!  — Nothing changed. I would say, as a budget-minded person interested in audiophile-level sound, that money does matter in this hobby.  If you don’t spend at least to a certain level, you are just a pseudo...
