The cool factor- who has it? Not sure who you're directing that to... my opinion, CB has legendary swag and I love CB Sings because of exactly what it is; a bold attempt to let his voice be heard. It's a great LP for so many reasons. I'm on board, Chet Baker = cool!
The cool factor- who has it? @foggyus91 yeah, not really a debate on vocal chops... if that were the case Joe Strummer & Mick Jones would be in right the mix of your "Tiny Tim" analogy lol. Point is, I think we both find Chet Baker super cool, in spite of his limited voca...
The cool factor- who has it? @foggyus91 Disagree - Chet Baker Sings is my favorite CB LP. It's because he really doesn't have the vocal chops that makes it "cool" - it's also a VERY well recorded album. Heroin has you believe'n you can do anything vibe. Just my opinion
The cool factor- who has it? Paul Weller, Joe Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Sly Stone, Amy Winehouse, Steve Marriott, John Waite, Free, Chris Robinson, Jason Isbell, Elvis Costello (in a nerdy kinda way) Dolores O'Rierdon, Kay Hanley, Sting... just tossing some out t...
Modern EL34s VS NOS Winged C - and return policies? Depends on the amp/speaker combo but I loved Siemans East Germany EL34s in an Audion Sterling Integrated; what a great little amp. Bite the bullet & go NOS, they're worth it in many ways
Your first concert was to see who and when? Aerosmith at the old Boston Garden in 1977... was a Junior in HS
Attention Horn Owners I wouldn't run SVS w/Audio Note - not a good fit. I suggest no sub and trying an amp with more jam. I used an Audiomat Solfège Reference with mine and the low end was exceptional. You won't be able to integrate a sub the way you hope. Solfège is 4...
Attention Horn Owners I had AN/e but could never get the placement right in my listening room; thought they were pretty great though. I now have a set of heavily moded Altec Valencia that I really wish I had come across earlier. Just an amazing speaker paired with mode...

Advice on a good Digital Coax Cable to run between my Transport and DAC? + 1 @danmar123 - SUPRA USB EXCALIBUR, Made in Sweden - its a really good cable for not a lot of money
Whats playing on your system today? 1st LPs in a long time but yeah, today we got back on the deck... Leon Bridges Good Thing, Talk Talk The Color of Spring, Stereophonics Performance and Cocktails & capped the session with The Golden Palominos Visions of Excess.
KT88 Tubes Apos - yeah no, not for me either. I use NOS 6550 by GE, RCA or Winged C in my KT88/6550 amps. Have had nothing but good luck with them. Best new issue are Good Lion KT88s but I'll spend more for the NOS mentioned. Just my experience & opinion
Unusual countries for audio gear Sempersonus, wonderful idler drive turntables designed and manufactured in Portugal
Integrated that blew you away I can add a couple more - Audio Note Mieshu line (original not Tonemaster) and the Audiomat Solfège Reference. Both equally great with the right speakers. Using a Solfège today with a custom Altec Valencia system. Geez, spectacular! |
