Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Bill Withers - Greatest Hits  This is one compilation I never get tired of.

Joe Jackson - Body and Soul - double 45RPM Intervention Records reissue.  Fabulous.

Glenn Branca “The Ascension” Superior Viaduct 2014 reissue of 99 Records 1981 release

@sailmed  - Hey Barry! Welcome to the best thread on AudiogoN! Keep 'em coming....

Michael Hedges-Aerial Boundaires Side 2 SQ Audiophile

The Alan Parsons Project-I Robot Side 1 SQ Audiophile

The Black Sorrows-Hold On To Me Side 2(record 1)

George Benson-Breezin Side 1 SQ*

Elton John-Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player Side 1

No Nukes-(VA) Side 6

Sting-The Dream Of The Blue Turtles Side 2

David Crosby-If I Could Only Remember My Name Side 2 SQ Audiophile

Since many have been playing David Crosby... so why not join in. I knew of the album but was not searching for it. This summer it appeared at a garage sale with a M- cover and VG++ vinyl(scuffs on side 1) it appears to be an OP? The SQ was forward and somewhat aggressive but very enjoyable. "Breezin" was borderline when regarding Audiophile SQ not sure if OP. SQ champ was to close to call I would rate both I Robot/Aerial Boundries a 4.6.

diamond ortiz - bulletproof

highly recommended for fans of zapp, slave, etc. heavyweight analog synth, beautifully recorded

Brian,

Yep, I spend a great deal of time 8' underground in my 15'X15' sound room. I missed this when I lived down south. 👍

I received a bunch of "Fabric" CD's for Christmas, of which I'll be checking out for a few days.

@boxer12 Bummer on the water. Didn't know you were a fellow basement dweller. You got to get those albums off the floor!

@j_husker  +1 The Final Cut. Women who love this album are solid gold. Your post brings them back.

After a stint with Covid, back to it with Porcupine Tree: Up The Downstair

@j_husker   I love that story.

Update; from the Dayglo reviews, yesterday I ordered the Yellowjackets album.  Only $8.24 including shipping.  It won't be just 1 day to receive it, but the price is more than fair.  I look forward to it.

Also from Dayglow review, I ordered Paul Simon, One Trick Pony.  That was about 12 days ago and it just arrived yesterday.  Can't complain, it was a good deal and the vinyl quality is NM.

The Nils Lofgren album - "Acoustic Live" is da bomb! Fantastic songs and heavenly sound quality. A true audiophile and music lovers album.

For anyone unfamiliar, at least stream it and check it out.

Pink Floyd-The Final Cut 1983 Col

Funny about this record. I was in high school when it came out. My gf at the time used to listen to it nearly every night as we talked on the phone. Used to give her a hard time about it, I’ve never acknowledged it as a Floyd album. A year later Roger’s solo record “The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking” came out. Told ya Janelle, Final Cut is a Waters solo album.

Either way, with the lights off and only the glow of a single candle and a pair of blue meters in the room, it sounds awfully good to my ears. I hope you are doing well these days Janelle, wherever you are.

Good to hear your recovering well Jim. Bummer about your aunt, I'll pray for her.

Sump pump went out so I'm cleaning up some excessive water. Not a terrible situation (floor is slate & the water didn't migrate far), but a PITA nonetheless. We've had a lot of precipitation here the last couple weeks & currently are in the midst of a winter storm, so that doesn't help. About a dozen albums currently drying out that will not be collector items 🙄 but it could have been worse. Anyway, no issue with the electronics so listening while I work.

Awesome stories here today.

Jim, wonderful news on your negative test.  So sorry to hear about your aunt in AZ.

I think that we all know to be excessively cautious right now.  COVID sucks!

Roxy Music  "Avalon"

David Crosby  "If I Could Only Remember My Name"  5oth Anniversary Edition

Al Green  "Call Me"  Speakers Corner reissue.  Excellent! Done from original tapes.

Brandi Carlile - "By the Way, I Forgive You"

I really like this album but I don't love the way it's recorded. Would love for it to be a more hi-fi recording, vs. the low-fi way it's recorded. Wonder if a more polished recording style would have taken away from the overall feel of the album?

Thanks Bill

Jim, thoughts for your aunt. I've family in that age group. Mask up.

@spiritofradio

Good story James, I hope shipping charges weren’t too steep! 😁

Wishing for a speedy recovery back to good health for all.

It's a very enjoyable movie Tom. Casting and acting are great.

Best wishes for your aunt Jim.

Just got in some N-95 masks.

James, great story. Here's a good recent one too...

I ordered a new cartridge yesterday at 3am (couldn't sleep). It showed up yesterday (same day) at 6 pm! Turns out it was in the local Amazon stock. New Cartridge is Audio Technica AT-VM740ML. Breaking it in now....

That is so cool :-) James. I don’t think my concoction is doing much. My 86 Y/O Aunt in AZ tested positive today - prayers appreciated for her. Yesterday was her birthday. War Dept and her close… argh. please take care everyone.
