If the Machina clock does not improve your system then you are not using it properly. Step one, plug it in the wall Step two, set the time and the alarm Step three, wake up early to get to work on time Step four, establish a standard of getting to work on time Step five, get a raise for your committment to your company Step six, take the funds from your raise and upgrade your components.
So you see, it works. It just has a long break in time. |
Geoffkait:
You may be right with respect to my opinion. So far I've not tested the device. The only way I'd consider its purchase is if I were allowed to do a test, blinded, using a couple of bags, as described above by RCPrince.
I didn't state with absolute certainty that it wouldn't be effective.
By the way, thank you for posting to this thread. It is very helpful for the manufacturer to provide input. |
Mdhoover - methinks tests on an unfamiliar system can be a bit confusing, esp. for a group...my money's on the dude who heard all the changes, blind and sighted, during Rcprince's test of the clock.
In any case, Mr. Clock's covered by 30 day guarantee, time aplenty for testing should one wish. |
Geoffkait, Could you explain how this product works and what is to be expected? Thank you |
Geoffkait:
Your suggestion that testing on an unfamiliar system being potentially confusing is a point I hadn't considered, and seems like a very valid concern. That IS something to think about.
With respect to the guarantee, does it cover return shipping? I ask this because the Dakiom Feedback Stabilizer guarantee states that they'll even pay for return shipping, which I think is pretty bold, and potentially risky for them. It would certainly be understandable for your guarantee NOT to cover shipping, and I think it's pretty rare for ANY company to do that, just because of the potential for unnecessary expense from people who are just "tire kickers."
Anyway, thanks again for responding to this thread. I did try to carefully qualify the question in the initial thread, particularly without having tested the product. So hopefully it wasn't offensive, as it was intended to spark discussion with some fairly tame (and maybe lame?) humor. Nothing more. |
Could you explain how this product works and what is to be expected? If he told you, would you believe him?? |
Geoff, you say ".my money's on the dude who heard all the changes, blind and sighted, during Rcprince's test of the clock. "...
this guy liked the system better without the clock... which makes sense! i mean, less electronic haze and frequencies being transmitted through the air. you see, the clock emits light beams that interfere with the regular disbursement of audio waves.
seriously... anyone can make up this horse-sht that youre shoveling. really amazing that enough people fall for this crap to keep you in business. i'm flat out stunned. |
Mdhoover - I do not include return shipping costs in the guarantee; however, shipping only a few bucks -- shipping weight 1 lb.
Audiofeil - As I mentioned previously, an explanation of the clock is deferred until some time in the future; don't know when that will be...
Pableson - IMO you make a valid point.
Dennis the Menace - Yer right; I guess the dude was confused after all... |
geoff.
this is not meant as a slam tword you or your clock & i have been to your site where i have seen many usefull products that are as good or better than the competition but your clock does need an explaination as to how it works.
any product from any manufacturer that is questionable & is also shrouded in secrecy will be met with scepticisim. |
I'm with Bigjoe. Any credible manufacturer will, without violating certain trade secrets and/or proprietary processes/materials, provide a reasonable explanation for the product regarding its' basic design and the means of its' effectiveness. Empirical data is also important.
For these reasons, this product must be considered a sham until proven otherwise. "Have faith", "trust me", or "it's a secret" are all obvious ways to obfuscate the truth and not deal with the basic questions asked.
So let the buyer beware of snake oil and Brooklyn Bridges for sale. These of course are my opinions; I have not tried nor do I intend to audition this product without substantially more and definitive information. |
Bigjoe - appreciate that you investigated my web site and your positive comments regarding my other audio products.
I see what you mean with respect to secrecy and skepticism; however, having weathered the long debate on the Intelligent Chip (primarily over at AA), I have to say I saw no let up of skepticism following my (very detailed) explanation. Same for Brilliant Pebbles (now 3 years old). And we won't even mention the skepticism, perhaps stronger than ever, with respect to PWB products, their explanations notwithstanding.
These observations lead me to conclude that what many (skeptical) people actually want is a concise explanation, one they can easily sign up to and for which they can say, "Oh, now I see!" Unfortunately, the Clever Lil Clock, like Mr. Chip and the pebbles, are not such products at all.
For the time being, as I indicated previously, I much prefer to let the results of my customers do the talking, so to speak, and defer discussion of the operating principles of the Clock until some later time...
BTW, I intend to have a number of these Clocks available at CES next month...

Maybe Geoff doesn't want to explain how the clock works because others will follow with their versions, maybe the clock is something so simple but effective in improving the sound but nobody though of it before.I have no experience with the product but I believe Geoff has a right to make a living so let him sell his products to whoever wants to buy them.It is rather simple,I am not a tweaker so I don't see myself buying one but others like to experiment . Greetings George |
I have no experience with the product but I believe Geoff has a right to make a living so let him sell his products to whoever wants to buy them. I have no experience with the product but I believe the makers of laetrile have a right to make a living so let them sell their products to whoever wants to buy them. |
Pabelson Hi Excuse me for my French but what is "laetrile",I was kind of lazy to do a websearch on it.Please do elaborate. Now did Geoff twist anybody's arm to force him to buy his products? If so please come forward and share your pain.I have no relation with Machina Dynamica or Geoff but in a free market he has a right to market and sell his products. No? So let's leave him alone. That is my message and I think it is fair. George |
It is a free market ,Geoff has every right to sell his product, just as consumers have the right to comment on, or question products as they see fit . |
Laetrile is made from apricots, spread it on your toast in the morning and cure what ails you. Right Pabelson?
By the way, have you heard of that new (old fashioned) weight reduction pill that contains tapeworm eggs?
Take a couple and in a few months all that excess food is being consumed by a critter that has nothing to do but lay about your insides all day. |
LOL..,,Also cheaper than stapling your stomach!! |
So whose stomach am I in right now? Because I've been pigging out like mad! |
The cure for you is to use a "Boa constrictor" as a belt. |
Goeff's products add to the sham which is hi-end audio today IMO. As Stereophile states "sales of home audio components dropped 30% between 2003 and 2005". So maybe the consumer is starting to smarten up. So keep driving people away with this lunacy. Retail stores can't survive on 2 channel anymore. I remember back in the late 80's when a local store selling Klipsch was so busy they only allowed 15 minute listening sessions so everyone could get a chance to hear them. |
Cdc - are you suggesting we all go back to the 80s, (where you apparently got off)? Fortunately, many others are not quite so anxious to return to yesteryear...
~ cheers |
The "it's a free market" explanation does nothing to address the morality of selling a bogus product. |
Guys, two words: QUANTUM PHYSICS. It MUST work. What else do you need to know? ;-) |
One point to be made about the laetrile analogy:
Laetrile was touted as an anticancer wonder drug. Its effects are unproven. It is much, much worse to lure a potentially curable cancer patient away from standard chemotherapy regimens with an untested drug like laetrile than it is to offer for sale a relatively inexpensive device for audiophiles which may or may not be effective.
Cancer drugs have a measurable end point, life or death. No such end point exists for the subjective realm of high end audiophiles' impressions. The laetrile analogy, therefore, while technically parallel, is overly harsh,in my opinion. |
I'd like to take this opportunity to offer my fellow audiophiles the revolutionary Placebotron 5000 line of audio enhanced happy meal toys. Through a proprietary process, these toys have been transformed into audio energy focusing amulets. Simply gaze at them during your listening session to hear blacker blacks, increased inner detail and microdynamics like never before. To order, please send $5.00 plus $29.95 shipping and handling. |
Jlambrick, is that shipping quote only to Canada?? |
Rcprince, anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. Interested? |
|
Jlambrick, do you have any reviews yet?
If not, you could send out a few to Marco (Jax2) he will have fun with all that inner detail. |
I have some anecdotal evidence from the kid next door. He claimed that music is much more enjoyable with the Placebotron in hand. As a matter of fact, he made off with my prototype. I'm sure it was so he could enjoy his own system to the fullest. |
I received my Placebotron yesterday and I'd like to tell you how much I enjoy it but I can't. It's a secret. So don't ask. Please. Refrain from doing so. Really. I'm not kidding. Gotta go. |
Clever Little Clock review hot off press at:

if help needed translating, email me...
~ cheers |
Here is the Google translation after running it through an English based spell check program. Still. Its a bit difficult to read due to the sentence structure differences between Italian and English. Read and decide for yourself, perhaps even use a different translator program. My take is this is more of a product announcement and comparison to the Tice clock, with the reviewer concluding that he is not certain if he heard anything or not, but perhaps worth additional testing. The appearance not deceits, is that one of a simple alarm clock from bedside table, in specific an endowed TIMEX of the system of nocturnal lighting system Indiglio. But any could be one other alarm clock, on a situated one dedicated to the hi fi Israeli has found the photo of "a derived" model from an other clock; on situated of the constructor the photo extension an other model still, all with brand red over display to crystals the liquids.
I said, the appearance deceits we do not find ourselves of forehead to a clock, in fact such function is precludes "not being able" to carry out the reset of the indicated hour, but to a add-on audio, probably strangest that is capitato to me between the hands after the Magic Chip tried in the slid number of the Review. For the importer is the same one, Harmonic Estro that sells it to 180 EURO. We agree, nothing new under the sun:
In the 1990's there was in the USA, saga of the Tice products and the similar that more or less carried out the same function:
In the May of the 1990 Sam Tellig it wrote on Stereophile:
"Lars has received recently an object that has the appearance and works like one wide awake digital them from $25 but that the sound is said thin better than a system hi-fi. E' the ElectroTec Ep-c, produced from one called company Coherence Industries. It is ignited and the conductivity of your homely electrical system is supposed better, having a smoothing effect on the movement of electrons so that little anarchy in the flow of the current would be little chaos. "Well, you will not believe to us but my system has not never played better "
In March 1991, appears on the review one for information letter of a sent reader to Stereophile:
"Here is a copy the letter who I have written to George Tice:
Beloved Mr. Tice, After to have tried its TPT clock in my system, rispedito it behind for being reimbursed. I have made this since the improvement of the performances has not corresponded to the investment in dollars made for the purchase. I have obtained turns out to you better carrying out simple and less expensive participations than tweaking, I would be lieto of having its opinion to riguardo."la the review correctly proposes the point of view of the constructor"
In relation to its question on which technology the Clock offers, I answer that the TPT is a system of treatment of the materials that, where integrated in other systems, like its electrical system, eliminates the caused electronic noise from the accidental movement and chaotic of electrons within a conductor electrical worker. With regard to its comment on eventual extra circuits, no circuit has been added to the Clock. It is simply a carrier of technology TPT. E' difficult to understand for some: the Clock has been dealt with process TPT. E' a concept similar to the cryogenic treatment: objects that have endured a made treatment of such do not appear after visually modified or alter to you, but the treatment has modified them to molecular level. The same one happens for process TPT."
In the same number of March 1991 an participation of Thomas J. appears. Norton:
"Process TPT comes said applicable to a wide slice of products, in the present case it has been applied to a common radio alarm of the Shack Radio, become therefore carrier of the treatment that technology TPT induces in the electrons"
In the moment in which we have listened to my system, with the Clock Tice connected to the power line, we have heard of the differences, in particular an improvement of the presence of a mid bass more the perhaps leggermente defined sound and. I considered such subjective small differences however.
When I have asked my friend if such differences had perceived to them also in its system in which he had inserted a digital clock not dealt him from Tice, he has answered yes, than the changes they were similar.
To be honest, I feel in embarrassment in saying that I have felt of the differences. The only logical explanation that I can myself be given is that these clocks act on the systems generating one risen of magnetic interference.
The explanations offered from the constructor do not convince to me, in the sense that I do not find some recognized scientific base to us behind."
On this topic, John Atkinson also takes part:
"Having read the documentation of Tice, I task that the official explanations on what happens is of the all mistaken ones. To me it seems that if the Clock induces an audible effect, the reasons would have to be two:
(A) the Clock it has an effect on the system (B) the Clock has an effect on the listener."
In February of the 1993, Jack English returns on the argument.
"When I have carried out for before turns a A-B series test with and without the inserted Clock, I have not heard any difference. In any case I have left the Clock attacked for along period of time. Obviously I became accustomed myself to the effects of the Clock, but I remained not aware of they, me rendered some single account after that the Clock was removed. Once removed the Clock a lightest sourness is returned in the sound of my system, replacing in function the Clock dealt with the process TPT, such sourness is newly passing"
Then the comment of the producer George Tice:
"You I write this light one in order to correct and to clear the greater part of the rumors around the TPT Clock. Ill-fated, many audiophile accept affirmations and disinformation as made without questions. In order to understand the TPT Clock it is necessary to distinguish two separate entities: one is called technology TPT (Tice Pulse Technology) and the second one is the means of storing that is the Clock. The relationship between these two entity is the same one that elapses between a magnetic tape and music: the Clock without installed technology TPT is not null' other that a likeable clock to led.
The technology TPT is a lot poured them, I could have installed it in other containers, the clock was chosen for reasons of low cost. It blots some dealt with TPT are extremely expensive to construct. We wish that technology TPT is something buyable one from anyone. Honestly and perhaps stupidly we believe that our products would have to be appreciate you for their sonorous performances rather than for their aesthetic one, species if it considers itself that the TPT Clock costs $350.00 We have learned from our net of sale that the acceptance on the part of the audiophile would have been higher if we had installed technology TPT in a wood container or aluminum and we had sold it to a double price."
The Tice has for a long time stopped its productions. Today they return, here the explanation that the producer Machina Dynamica offers of its product:
"The Clever Little Clock is the new product of the Machina Dynamica, an only one and exceptionally powerful audio accessory, based on the concepts and the products originally develops to you from the PWB Electronics, UK PWB is for Peter W. Belt, to said of our Director a cunning fellow vendor of vaporware.
The Clever Little Clock is one small alarm clock and battery, that it has been modified using technical highly specialized. The Little Clock is not connected to the wall and it does not have an influence directed on marks them audio, neither on the house electrical works, neither on the members the chain of I listen neither on the sonorous waves.
The Clever Little Clock can be placed ovunque in the room of listens, in the which case the sound of the system will become remarkably more musical and alive, with a true impact it moves them and an improvement in all the parameters of I listen. Added the more Clock will give an ulterior benefit.
The Clever Little Clock does not go resettato neither modified. The constructor reserves the right to use various versions of clocks as base for the modification but all works to the same way. The battery of reciprocation cannot be "common" but that one, special, supplied in equipment with every Clock."
All clearest it seems to me..... Following exactly the instructions you supply me from the importer, that is putting the box it of the clock in terrazzo, and listening for po' a my system, in order then to extinguish the CDP, to open the window and to place Clever Little Clock within the atmosphere of I listen and repeating more times the operation in inverse sense, with the attitude that I have for a long time chosen of having in the comparisons of the gadgets that arrive to me in test that is maximum skepticism joined to the maximum curiosity in the comparisons of turns out to you sonic obtainable, I have begun "to ripassare" the list of my preferred CD in order to verify if the insertion of the taroccato TIMEX "hi-end" had or less of the effects on the reproduced sound.
The first observation regards the positioning of the object in the atmosphere, although the producer does not give particular indications in merit has noticed a meaningful difference placing the Timex close to diffusers (Quad) and ends (OTL) regarding the solution that previewed its positioning near petty officer first class (CDP-DAC Lector) and preamplifier, also being the mansarda in which the system it is positioned of the not greatest dimensions,
The surveys that follow are therefore to refer to the solution that has shown "appreciate" more the object of the Machina Dynamica. The action of the modified Timex seems mainly concentrates in one greater pulizia and one greater putting to fire of the sound and the reproduction of voices and instruments. The soundstage it appears increased in all the aces with an increased depth of field to all advantage of the realism of the reproduction of the event. The "concretezza" of the musical message appears in its improved entirety, without that there are modifications on the plan of the timbrica, in "like if" in which ambienza and coherence of the sonorous plans acquisissero one before smaller perceptible pregnanza.
In the world of the add-ons to use hi-fi two types of products exist fundamentally: those "positively" and those "embezzled" that is objects to you the whose effect is, eventually, perceptible one in the moment in which they come "inserted" in one determined audio chain or objects whose effect is picked when they come "removed."
The Timex of the Machina Dynamica belongs to the second category and I cannot in all honesty assert that, for how much strange it may seem, through note repeated tests of insertion and removal, an effect on the sound in the terms that I have described over that they are thin and not spectacular but I repeat perceptible.
For other the old psicoanalista Zapparoli comes me in mind that once it said that we could not be sure that, making to be for various years, for 5 times to the week, 45 minutes, a patient under a lamppost rather than on letting of one psicoanalista one some modification in positive of its psicopatologia could not be found and therefore I conclude asserting that they are not sure that "I have felt" she cannot be suggestion but at the same time, I have felt induces me to advise a test in the just ambient one and then to estimate of the capacity.
Draft of vaporware? Not creed, even if I can comprise the skepticism of who reads to me. Are worth therefore 180 Euro this "stranezza of all the mysterious one like below technology" made in USA via UK? It is worth them on condition, of being able to acquire it to scato it sluice, with the formula satisfied or does not reimburse to you as he regulated iron for an eventual test on the field in house of who reads to me. |
Hey this blog has turned toward the Tice Power clock of which I own two. I have found the best benifit to insert the power plug into the pre amp. I have had them go UNCHARGED and have sent them back when they were still in business to be recharged. From what I have heard is a deeper soundstage and a since of space in the vocal area. When they went out of business I learned to recgarge them by just pulling the plug out of the wall to get them going again. Sometimes I have do it several times.Would love to find a place to send them for the cryo treatment if it was reasonable which was being done to these clocks in the first palce as well as their cables and interconnects. |
Qdrone, please don't take this wrong, I had the Tice clock and the Radio Shack version (same basic clock that was used by Tice).
There was some tiny benefit (FROM BOTH, and varied by system), but not due in my opinion to what George Tice did to his version.
The positive results occurred from loading the AC line and scrubbing off a little noise. Both of these little clocks did that to some degree, although not through special treatment but by accident of their design.
Much easier to buy a handful of Audio Prism QuietLines that plug into any spare electrical socket. If you look inside QuietLines, there is no pixie dust or special parts, just capacitors and resistors that load your AC and knock out noise from your system. These work better than the Tice or RS clock.
Although these are no longer made, you could possibly score some here at Audiogon or build your own.
The do it yourself version is posted on the web somewhere, I would have to search and find it. A good friend told me the DIY version is more effective than Quiet Lines but I have not had the time to build and test for myself. |
Albertporter, Thanks for taking the time to provide a translation of the review. I love my two CLC's, but this translation made me laugh uncontrollably (no, my supply of medicine has not run out) and repeatedly. It can certainly qualify as the funniest "review" of any tweak ever offered from any vendor. Imagine the unintended hilarity if we single-language Americans had to write down our thoughts in Italian? If one simply listens in his/her best system to ten favorite recordings then a listener should reach a personal conclusion which is valid for that individual. Isn't that how each of us ended up with a different playback system? Happy Holidays to all of my fellow seekers after AUDIO TRUTH
|
Albertporter I'm just here to learn my friend. To be quite honest I really don't know if the clocks I have really work anymore but hey at my age I can see what time it is without my glasses! Happy Holidays! |
In light of this lovely discussion, which I found after a search for the company's name...after seeing the $200 "highly modified" Timex clock, I just have to say here that I simply can't wait to unveil *my* new product. I call it "The Sound Idea." You're not so much buying a physical product as you are a representation of one - an idea, if you will, of a better sounding system. It can be yours for a mere $50 "an idea." Just shoot me an e-mail and I'll get you on the road to better sound.
You guys are right. This is the stuff that makes folks run [laughing] from hi-fi. Bags of sand - jars of rocks - "heavily modified" alarm clocks? C'mon.
Maybe some of you guys have soundproofed rooms, with dampening everywhere and can literally hear a pin drop, but I would think that most of us (and I may be wrong) are not so privelaged to have such a setup. I know that mine is in the living room, about two feet from a 60 year old wall (trying despirately to keep the noise outside in), five feet from a piano and ten feet from couches, differing-height ceilings, and all kinds of things that can alter the way the sound reverberates around the room. Is anyone in my situation truly going to be able to hear the difference a "heavily modified" alarm clock made on their setup?
Now, I guess I would try the clock out if someone would send me one for nothing...but boy would I feel like a fool doing so.
Just my smart-aleky response.
Cheers mates. |
i've heard they work really good, if you install an aftermarket iec connector, and use a really expensive power cord. |
Yeah, and brass cones work well too! |
I buried one in a pot with a house plant, and the root system grew in width and depth. |
Ferdjaboko,did it help the bud's? |
|
Good news! Apparently audiohiles aren't the only group "taking advantage" of quantum physics. Check out "The Strap" by Fizogen-ex for bodybuilders: http://www.fizogen-ex.com/
A friend had one, and I tried it by wearing it around my wrist. It shot my right arm in to the future where I have 21-inch guns and I was curling 100-pound dumbbells!!! It looked REALLY wierd in the mirror, with the rest of my body in the present and only my right arm in its future state. My pudgy little 43" chest and 12" left arm with my 21" right gun. Good thing there weren't many other people in the gym that day. Can you imagine the uproar that would have caused??? |
Aggielaw,
Any truth to the rumor that there will be a "Jock" strap model of that device?
No word on how much growth may be experienced, but as a caution I'm selling all my stock in the company that manufactures Viagra. |
LMAO!!! Awesome, Albert!! Thanks for the great post. I'm signing up to be a beta tester of the jock version tomorrow morning! :)
Howard |
In my opinion this is the best joke ever. The best way to brake the ice between buyer & dealer . From my personal experience . It works . |
An the other hand I heard a details an Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon, song " Time " that I never heard before or may be just another clock. |
Do not wish to add to the sarcasm I have ligitimate curiosity but I simply cannot take serious a Tweak like the "Teleportation" thing. Somebody calls you (on the phone) and makes your listenning environment better by just doing some stuff . . . . When I asked the gentleman of Machina Dynamica (Geoff)if he would offer money back if not satisfied he said that no way nad he suggested that if i wanted an explanation which I did; about why the Teleportaion tweak worked it was probably too envolved to explain. I told him that sounds like a con man answer, he went off to tell me to keep my idiotic opinions to myself . . wow what a load . . .
Guys I have been an audiophile and music lover before I knew I was one, electronics Engineering with degree in acoustics and sudio has been my life's devotion to tweak and upgrade but everything has an explanation, if soft legs or if cones underneath the equipment, or cables everything has to have a reason for you to 'spend the money"" unless you are a born millionaire or a State lottery winner of sorts, and you don't care about the $ you spend.
I see there is so much controversy about these products.
And we are asked to accept his word that it works but . . no money back guarrantee if it does not. I',m telling you this gentleman is very lucky here in the US that we have so many curious people willing to shell out the $$ before they see results I do believe in Europe or SOuth Amercia or even Asia he will be so quickly out of luck is not even funny. . . Pebbles on top of speakers, magic CLocks, mysterious teleportation tweaks over the phone? I would'nt mind paying for all of them that work but I need proof before I pay for them that's when a money back guarrantee becomes not an issue of faith, I already go to my Church and support my Pastor I cna;t faith on this things of man. I want to believe, but also I have seen too many pebbles being sold on E-abay and AUdiogon . . . very suspicious. I do have metal cones and wood blocks thta I owned for many years. In fact I discovered the beauties of wood blocks when I was 15 years old by accident mostly, I was putting my reference then Marantz Receiver atop a small side table and needed to support the receiver the legs were too far apart for the table so with wooden blocks I discover how myuch better thsi thing sounded but kept it to myself I was affraid people calling me crazy . . ..
Just doesn't ring true to my ears until I try them maybe i will change my mind once I hear the difference and spend more money on other tweaks of the similar nature. I do read so many reviews of peoplr that swear by those tweaks that's were I become curious and willing to try with an open mind and willing to embrace what I don't understand. . but I have to se or hear the difference though . .. . otherwise I becoem just anotyher self diluted consumer with a bvery short happy time? I hope sincerely that's not what we're all about . . .
Take care;
Gonzalo |
People hear a difference only because they WANT to hear one. The power of suggestion can do weird things. Get the tweak, then sit back, and listen to your system, but now you're listening for a change that you actually think is going to be there, and with that intent, you hear a change. Ever try that on a friend? Don't change a thing, but tell him you did, and ask if he can hear how much better it sounds? He says he hears it! Power of suggestion. I bought the Teleportation Tweak because I didn't want to fork out the money on the clock. I called the number, and after a some slapping sounds in the background, the tweak was transported. I was amazed at how much better my system sounded. But after awhile I realized nothing changed. I wanted it to sound better, and it did. Maybe I was just listening more intently, or just wanted to hear a change. I knew better, but I still wanted to see just what everyone was hearing. They were hearing what they wanted to hear. |
