Everyone knows the most romantic song is Fly Me to the Moon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEcqHA7dbwM Fly me to the moon Let me play among the starsLet me see what spring is like On Jupiter and Mars In other words, hold my hand In other words, baby, kiss me Fill my heart with songAnd let me sing forevermore You are all I long for All I worship and adore In other words, please be true In other words, I love you
I guess each for every moment, no best of here, could be a dozen or more, depends. Just came up Let’s stay together - Al Green. Never Tear us apart - INXS. Friday i’m in love - The Cure. The look of Love - Dusty Springfield.
Not really super romantic to some/most, but my wife and myself played this (cassette in an 83 Honda Prelude in the mid 90's) while driving back from one of our few/but great vacations.
The trip was to San Francisco (we rented a small 2BR bungalow in Berkeley) and we met up with a couple we knew from the Internet who were attending a medical convention in SF @ the time (they lived in NC back then - nice/cool couple in person).
The vacation was a blast and after Santa Cruz we WAY diverted to Pismo Beach to have a bowl of Clam Chowder @ The Splash Cafe (arrived 30 minutes before closing).
There was a severe highway jam once we were about an hour away from LA and we ended up diverting again to Palm Springs (got us out and around the jam) and spent the night @ a friend's house.
We live in the Los Angles area and I logged almost 2000 miles on that trip.
Anyway, the song is "You Sexy Thing - I Believe in Miracles" by Hot Chocolate.
"Close your eyes, give me your hand, darlin'
Do you feel my heart beating
Do you understand
Do you feel the same
Am I only dreaming
Is this burning an eternal flame"
Here's a few: Another Day - Roy Harper Suzanne - Leonard Cohen Sail Away - Neil Young Under the Cherry Moon - Prince Daniel Martin Moore – Turned Over To Dreams Lili Marlene - Marlene Dietrich Tindersticks & The Walkabouts - Take Me
Phil Collins - Against all Odds - Take a look at me now. To me this sums it up for me. My lost love 37 years ago... On a lighter note Fly me to the Moon.
"Close to You" Carpenters "Case of You" Joni Mitchell "Unchained Melody" Elvis Presley "Cherish" The Association "Unforgettable" Nat King Cole "Coming Up Close" Til' Tuesday
"We have All the Time In the World," Louis Armstrong in the James Bond Movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service title track. This was towards end of Pops career, but I still get goose bumps.
John Barry composed the love song "We Have All the Time in the World", with lyrics by Burt Bacharach’s regular lyricist Hal David. It is heard during the Bond–Tracy courtship montage, bridging Draco’s birthday party in Portugal and Bond’s burglary of the Gebrüder Gumbold law office in Bern, Switzerland. Barry recalled Armstrong was very ill, but recorded the song in one take.
I have a fairly good idea what type of music this crowd here is auditioning on their $25K+ setups. All these tunes are great but will sound better on a vintage mediocre Hi Fi
My pick is 'some enchanted evening'. By anyone. Just heard it for the first time a couple of years ago whilst watching South Pacific. Can't get it out of my head.
