Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck gettin' dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity?
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people lookin' half dead
Walkin' on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head
But at night, it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come on, come on, and dance all night
Despite the heat, it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
The days can't be like the nights
In the summer in the city
In the summer in the city
Cool town, evening in the city
Dressed so fine and lookin' so pretty
Cool cat lookin' for a kitty
Gonna look in every corner of the city
'Til I'm wheezing like a bus stop
Runnin' upstairs, gonna meet you on the rooftop
But at night, it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come on, come on, and dance all night
Despite the heat, it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
The days can't be like the nights
In the summer in the city
In the summer in the city
Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck gettin' dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity?
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city
All around, people lookin' half dead
Walkin' on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head
But at night, it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come on, come on, and dance all night
Despite the heat, it'll be alright
And babe, don't you know it's a pity
The days can't be like the nights
In the summer in the city
In the summer in the city
Black Oak Arkansas, Hot Rod. Nobody said it had to be tasteful.
NOW I'M GONNA SING A SONG FOR YOU MEN
AND YOU WOMEN, YOU LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THIS SONG
NOW YOU MEN IMAGINE IT'S FRIDAY AFTERNOON
YOU JUST GETTING OFF WORK
AND YOU READY TO GO OUT SHINING
YOU GET IN YOUR CAR, IT'S ALL CLEANED UP
AND YOU HEAD OUT ON THE STRAIGHT HIGHWAY
YOU PUSH THE FOOT FEED DOWN TO THE FLOOR
AND IT'S ROARING DOWN THE HIGHWAY
YOU FEELING GOOD, CAUSE
YOU GOT A LOTTA MOTOR UNDER YOUR WHEELS
YOU HEADING TO SEE YOUR WOMAN
YEAH, WHEN YOU GET THERE TO SEE YOUR WOMAN
YOU SCREECH UP IN THE DRIVEWAY, YOU GET OUT
YOU WALK UP TO HER AND YOU TELL HER ONE THING
YOU SAY MAMA, I GOT A HOT . . . RODDDD
I DRIVE SO HARD, I DRIVE SO FAR
WON’T YOU WATCH ME WHEELIN’ AROUND
SEEMS A HUNDRED MILES AN HOUR BABE IS THAT TOO FAST
BETTER HANG ON TIGHT LIKE YOU WAS YOUR ASS
HOT-TIE HOTTIE HOT HOT HOT ROD
IF YOU SEE ME HANGIN’ AROUND
AND YOU GOT NOTHIN’ BETER TO DO
COME ON DOWN ON ME THEN WE’LL SEE
THOSE HOT ROD TRACKS ALL OVER YOU
HOT-TIE HOTTIE HOT HOT HOT ROD
IF YOU WANT TO, IF YOU WILL
JUMP MY ROD, IT’LL GIVE YOU A THRILL
COME ON MAMA I’M ASKIN’ YOU PLEASE
SUCH A HOT ROD WOMAN, COOL ME OFF PLEASE
HOT-TIE HOTTIE HOT HOT HOT ROD
YEAH, IF YOU WANT TO STAY THE NIGHT
COME ON IN WE'LL GET IT DOWN RIGHT
SOME MIGHT SAY IT’S A SIN
WON'T YOU LET THIS HOT ROD IN
What is cool I heard all these band live too. I'm still a Bay Area person. Of all the great guitar players I've heard live. Carlos always was the smoothest. Never TOO loud, BUT loud enough. Stanly Clark/Jeff Beck/Tony Williams Sr was a close second.
Earlier on, Tower of Power, War, James Brown, Sly and the Family Stones, Gram Central Station... Dude I was a Pan Dragger.. LOL
Montrose was LOUD too.
The worst I ever heard was Journey, they ran half the people out of Winterland (I think) behind playing so loud. Deep Purple did the same thing. Two times ear plugs did not work. :-)
@tablejockey- I saw Montrose a lot in San Francisco when that first album came out. I reckon that if Sammy and Ronnie hadn't had such ego conflicts, they could have become the American Led Zeppelin.... 'Montrose' and 'Paper Money' are such great albums! Also a big Michael Schenker fan; used to see him with UFO a lot.
