OT: Espresso machines I roast my own beans too and have been using a manual La Pavoni machine for years, it takes a bit of practice but well worth the effort. I have a few friends with the automated machines and they think mine tastes best. No one ever asks for sugar. ...

Best Holographic Speakers ~$7k per pair If you have the space magnepan 3.7i and a sub or two would work magic. You should be able to find gently used Maggie’s well within your price range, I have that setup myself, when I was out listening to demos and heard Maggie sound that was it.
Magnapan 35r and Hegel C55 Amp I would think the 300 into 4 ohms would be fine unless you’re a volume freak.
Whats playing on your system today? Funkadelic can’t believe I missed thelr early albums 50+ years ago. Also Jacqueline du Pre picked up on her after watching the PBS special, another great talent I missed by 50+ years. Better late than never.
Jay's Audio Lab Visits GR Research's Listening Room Does anyone know what drum record they are using in the demo. thanks
Need to learn about Audio Research I have the 3.7i and pair it with a Pass 250.8 the sound is magnificent. I purchased the Pass after reading it had won the best of show when paired with the Maggie’s. plenty of power and no hassle with tubes. good luck and good listening.
Mcintosh or Pass to JBL 4367 I’m using a XP 10 with a Pass 250.8 on Maggie 3.7i and the sound is magnificent on all types of music. Somewhat tube like with great bass and high end I can listen for hours. You won’t be sorry with the 250.8. no experience with Mac products
Considering the BMR Philharmonic Monitor speakers Stereophile gives them a terrific review in this months issue. One of my friends has a larger pair of Philharmonics and they are amazing, Dennis has been designing crossovers and speakers for years ignore the garage guy comments obviously doesn’t ...
Organ music, your system, and an old German Virgil Fox and others have recorded organ direct to disc all I’ve heard sound great.
Cartridge - sweet spot on the cost/sound curve? Soundsmith makes excellent cartridges. If you can find a low hours used one it’s well worth the purchase. They also offer a very generous rebuild policy.
The best opening act you've ever seen & heard? 69 Boston Garden MC5 and Johnny Winter opening for Led Zeppelin Also caught Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers opening for Bob Dylan at Great Woods
