Usb cable recommendation

I was hoping someone could recommend an entry level Usb cable , need a inexpensive one right now. Just ordered my first Dac ,something I thought I wouldn’t ever be doing as I set my system up for vinyl. I also believe I’ve seen more than once on these forums that the cable between Dac and streamer be at least two meters in length, hoping for clarity on that as well, thx in advance.

I picked up a basic wireworks USB 2.0 cable for less than $20 as I recall.

I don't think it can make a difference in my system but at least wirewold isolate the power line from signal line if that is important.

Any Audioquest cable you can afford. Owned Forrest (good), carbon (much better), coffee (way better).  Bought all used and very happy with the line.

I liked the DH Labs Mirage in my system. Solid construction and great sound.

I bought Belkin Gold USB based on TAS review, very happy with it...under $20 I believe

Really depends on how “entry level” you’d like to go. For me, more important than length is that the USB cable separate the power and signal parts of the USB signal. The best value I found was the LavriCables Ultimate Silver USB cable that is about $132/m. I’ve not seen that a USB cable between a streamer and DAC needs to be 2m and not sure how much better that’d sound than a 1m cable, but it does up the cost quite a bit. Anyway, here’s a link for the cable I bought FWIW…

Also, the Ethernet cable running to your streamer is very important (if you’re using one) so try to get the best you can afford there as well.  Best of luck.

The DH Labs Mirage is on sale this month, 20% off, and I think another 10% off if you sign up for their mailing list. Great cable.

OP,

+1 DH Labs. This is my go to for budget stuff… which I then can use as a base level to upgrade.

Wire World Starlight is often used as a base level. But, while I have a couple… they have not been that impressive to me.. I’d go with DH Labs.

Depending on budget the most natural under $1 k around $850

Final Touch Audio -Callisto  it has Many excellent reviews,

their new Flagship Sinope usb cable is better still but over $1500

dont forget Ethernet cables ,theAQ Diamond is very good , as well as Final touch audio

Thx everyone, and thx Eric I was looking for that info over the weekend and couldn’t find it.

Builder3...thanks for the heads up on the DH Labs sale. I've been toying with the idea of upgrading an older Pangea usb cable that sits between my Aurender and Qutest. Earlier this morning I sent them a quick question on cable length, very quick response. Ordered a .5M Mirage and I've already got a USPS tracking number. Color me impressed.

BTW: they said order the length that you need, that they've had great results with USB cables as short as 7cm.

I've made several purchases from DH Labs, every one was just as you describe, quick, professional, trouble-free.

Every month something is on sale.

I have the Belkin gold one that goes for $30 and was written up in Stereophile a few years ago, it continues to work well for me, maybe the newer more expensive ones are better, though how much better?

I use Wywires Silver. Anyone tried Platinum ? No, they are not exactly entry level cables. I use Supra Ethernet cable, much better than what comes in boxes with equipment.
