@jim204 - no Jim - as I posted earlier, MC has been suspended, supposedly for 30 days, not sure when he'll be back, but believe me, he will be back to share his words of wisdom in a hopefully friendlier way and he'll be ignoring his haters. |
I think that "many" exaggerates the number gleefully waiting for his return compared to the number hoping it doesn’t happen. Sorry oldhvy, he just seemed rude in an unhealthy way to me. By contrast, I had absolutely no problem with georgehifi or GK. |
I'm not a MC fan either, but hope he's ok. Awhile back, a prominent professional reviewer had debunked several of MC's suggestions of audio wisdom. And even cautioned him on such misinformation to other audiophiles. Does it strike anyone else that whatever your feelings about MC, after well over 300 posts on this same issue in this thread alone you are engaging in the same kind of behavior for which you express dislike? Regardless of who makes a comment you don't like you're not required to engage in a debate with that poster. If you don't like post, don't take the bait - MC is not likely to be the last person you will ever encounter that you don't favor and simply not reading his posts is infinitely easier than dealing with an individual you don't like in person. This forum is supposed to be about audio. |

@stereo5 - I have had a few run ins with MC about his compensation (or his statement of lack thereof which turned out to be untrue) and more immeasurable tweaks in the past, but also appreciate some of his advice that was valuable for me in with regard to isolation/vibration control. Just because you disagree with someone you don't have to be a hater. There are some posters here who I won't name that I just skip because I know what they are going to say and really don't add anything new. That is usually not the case with MC. |

@tsushima1 well no doubt plenty of being lied to goes on on plain public view these days and lots of people seem to be all onboard with it. Integrity is not a consideration. Very sad. |

It was kind of a gray area of integrity for MC. He would get free trials or favorable treatment from some of his favorites. It wasn’t until he formally joined Townshend a few months ago when he started actually getting paid(I beleive). He declared that when it happened. Since I had assumed he had some kind of relationship with these companies because he talked about interacting with their owners so much, I assumed he was getting some favorable treatment. He didnt think that was a big deal-that’s where we disagreed. But since I knew that, his statements were taken with that in consideration. Good example was Better Records looking out for an album for him. It saved him time I guess from having to continuously check their web site. if you are a hater, just ignore his posts when he returns. |
Personally I don’t hate anybody so stop playing the hate card. Are you maintaining his hate list for him while gone? Yes he brags about that! I will object to actions and words that are objectionable to me as I please. End of story.
Also don’t tell people what to do just because you might disagree. Just ignore ME yourself if you must. I won’t get into the integrity issues I and others know of that have nothing to do with hifi. Too many words spent on this topic already. Cheers! |

No He Did Not …. He continued to shill for Townsend up until the time he was flushed without once definitively disclosing his indenture to that company or his financial interests in promoting its products … |
I read it in one if his posts that he joined the Townshend family. You can find it If you want, it was some time in January. I am not a particular fan, just always looking for opinions of audiophiles with lots of experience willing to help. The more the better. The closed minded grouches are not helpful. |
Indeed … I recall him hinting at “ an exciting new direction for him … watch out for updates “ back then …however there has been NO definitive declaration of financial or indentured interest in being a Townshend employee since that date … whereas we have had no shortage of rabid product placement without disclosure of financial interest even up to the time that he was recently flushed !

I have yet to spot a single SHILL on AG. The inference is they push a product for some type of compensation and in reality not care or have any interest other than some type of GAIN. Name ONE that has no interest in the products they push. Ladies and Gents, there are zero SHILLS allowed on these forums. Again name a single person that pushes anything FOR money that they don't like. NOW if there is another word you want to apply, I'm all for it. If Mcintosh gave me 100K, 500K a million dollars worth of gear, I'd never SHILL their product because I can't. I LIKE the product.. If you like the product you cannot SHILL it. You can promote it, sell it, or give it away, but you cannot SHILL what you like... Is that word that hard understand? A SHILL sells drugs but doesn't use them personally. THAT is a perfect example of a SHILL. Guess what it carries, a different sentence too. One they are referred to rehab one they are referred to prison. I'd say there is a difference.
