I am an owner of Fritz's Carerra BE's and have had several speakers over the years from Klipschorns, Forte's, B&W, Paradigm and Zu Druids. For the quality, components, craftsmanship (cabinets are outstanding, woodgrain perfectly matched/pair), these are the real deal in a compact package. Bass response is astounding and tuning with Nordst systems solution disc, his low end rating is conservative at best. Auditioned for several friends who looked all over for the absent sub. Properly positioned, these produce quite the soundstage, yes, you can see the instruments. For the price point, I dare anyone to produce a better sound. Running a modified Dynaco ST-70 (KT-66) and do not be fooled by the sensitivity rating of 87 db. Listened to these at an audiofest and purchased - no regrets whatsoever. Treat your ears to Musica Nuda live at FIP, (excellent engineering) Highly recommend an A/B test. Fritz is a great guy and makes a exceptional product.
Poor Fritz
There’s no better value and no one as willing to make bespoke speakers out there than Fritz and these forums treat his speakers as if they cost $200K.
They don’t. They are remarkably affordable and yet potential customers put him through the absolute ringer, asking for custom features, going through 2 or 3 models of home auditions and maybe not even buying any of them.
Look, you buy what you want to buy, but I think not enough credit is given to the man or his speakers in terms of the overall value proposition and I think this is a disservice overall. If you write a 5 page review, please keep this very much in mind that you are not reviewing Wilson or Focal's flagships. Maybe he doesn't deserve quite the same scrutiny.

I’m late to this party but will vouch that Fritz is a prince of a guy and his speakers are a labor of love. I’ve reviewed the Carrera and Carbon for my blog (Steve’s Audio Blog) and they are wonderful and a fine option for anyone considering a pair of high-end monitors. |

LSA speakers to me are only one of the many soulless productions made in some factory (or factories) in China for the western market. One of the comments to the review cited (by Mitchell M Tallen, third one down) was very eloquent regarding the long term satisfaction of such things. Essential reading for anyone considering buying a speaker like this. I am very grateful that people like Fritz offer me an alternative to such a depressing option. |
Lsa monitors were voiced to be as close to pulsars as could be, the previous pulsars. They succeedded, but you like what you like right..josephs are eye candy and more $$....people believe more money is better. Fritz has great speakers, as do many others. I dont think one speaker is a better by far if you will. This thread is too bs, way too much. |

Sorry, I need to clarify something, I wrote: The other benefit he claims is that because of how the parts are arranged, they stay out of the path of the drivers. A $30 cap in his speaker is equivalent to a $300 cap in others. What I should have written: The other benefit he claims is that because the crossover components stay out of the path of the drivers in a series XO (which is true) a $30 cap in his speaker is equivalent to a $300 cap in others which greatly reduces the price he has to sell his speakers at to reach equivalent performance with a parallel crossover. |
HI NN, On fritz website he shows that how smooth the impedance of his spkrs over the audio freq vs others. Yep, that's a function of the series crossover design the man is fixated on. :) Does it mean for the same db of music in a room the other spkrs demand a large watt/current amp for the db of music ? No, what it means is, regardless of frequency, the impedance is relatively constant. It is a super easy load and particularly beneficial to tube amps. To compare it to a random, typical commercial speaker, like these monitor audio: https://www.stereophile.com/content/monitor-audio-silver-300-loudspeaker-measurements With a high impedance amp (i.e. tubes) the frequency response changes to match the impedance curve. This is less troublesome to solid state amps. Also he mention about series xo .Any comments on this would be valuable. The other benefit he claims is that because of how the parts are arranged, they stay out of the path of the drivers. A $30 cap in his speaker is equivalent to a $300 cap in others. The schematic and series XO theory bear this out, but I've not done a listening comparison. However, given that I think he has very good ears (based on listening to his products and conversations) I have to believe he's onto something. |

Erik If you have that option I would shut this thread down as whatever your intended purpose was that is not what has happened. This from a Carrera Be owner. He's not going to stop and the rest of the crowd can't seem to help themselves. He is here because he would have and probably has been banned from every other respectable forum a long time ago. |
