Need Advice Asap - Terrible experience with a seller on Reverb (Iso Acoustics Gaia ii)
Hi all,
I made this huge mistake of buying 2 boxes of Gaia 2 isolation feet from this seller on Reverb. It was described as Mint/Unused condition. But when the items arrived, I noticed that the outer layer of plastic was missing. It only had to two sticker tapes where the box and lid connect (as you can see in the photos). I had a bad feeling and when i opened the box, they had obvious signs of wear. Big marks all over the sides of every single one of them. Some worse than others.
When I requested to return and get a refund, he basically accused me to taking advantage of him by swapping some old used feet and trying to return them for new. He has been harassing me all evening and I have been firm that I will return and expect a full refund. He says if the serial numbers don’t match, he will not accept the return. I reported this to Reverb customer support and they’re looking into it. Oddly, this guys seems to have 5 star reviews. Pretty sure they’re all paid reviews. I should have stayed away when the price was too good to be true.
Just curious, has anyone experienced anything like this? What are my options here? How can I prove that I didn’t just take the new ones and replaced it with some old used ones. This is so absurd I don’t know how to handle this guy. Never experienced anything like this before. please advise, thanks!
@lowrider57 Yes, luckily I used Paypal. The seller has sent me a return label but keeps threatening and claiming that I'm lying about this. So I am not sure if I should return the items and wait for Reverb to resolve the issue. .The items arrived earlier today and Reverb has the 7 day policy. Or should i ping Paypal right away?
And he sent me a photo saying I have pictures of the serial numbers. Needless to say, those are not the ones I received in the package. This is insane!
Oh no. Take pics of the Gaia's you received showing damage and ser. #s. Take pics of the shipping box with close up of the label showing his address plus yours. Also, the Gaias in the box. This might help support the fact that this is what you received.
Keep in touch with PP, tell them about the 7 day return policy. Good luck.
I’m with Jasonbourne71 on this. If you paid less than retail, what really is the problem? Once they are under your speakers, it will not matter. Unless you don’t like what they do and that is why you are feeling he mislead you on the condition? I’m only guessing but if it were I and I liked them I would just use them and never buy from Reverb or this seller again.
They're not in mint condition as described in the ad. If you decide to sell them later on you won't be able to say they're in mint condition and being a reputable seller I assume you'd include photos. So I would expect a credit at a minimum to offset the actual quality of goods received.
Thanks for all experience sharing, advise and suggestions. Really helped!
Status update: Reverb support has been quite helpful so far. I gave them all the evidence I possibly could (videos, photos, etc). The seller claimed that he bought the items directly from the manufacturer. So I tried reaching out to IsoAcoustics, and they were extremely helpful. promptly replied and confirmed that they do not do direct business with anyone outside of their DB network.
I shared all of this info with Reverb and eventually I got refund approval (pending returns obviously). They even blocked this guy from messaging/harassing me which was really nice of them.
While I still haven't got my money back, I feel confident that justice will prevail. Fingers crossed. I'll keep you all posted.
@jasonbourne and Stereo5: I see where you're coming from. Its not that I can't use the products. Its about misleading and cheating, and worse yet, false accusing me of wrongdoing. Even if it were a great bargain, I wouldn't ever transact or do business with such people. That's just how I see it.
@rsf507:This is the seller (https://reverb.com/shop/irynas-boutique-3). Crazy how he has nothing but 5 star reviews.
I shoot pictures from the delivery to the unboxing and it’s a good thing. I had a year long ordeal with KEF and those pictures finally got me a replacement pair of speakers.
Hey gents, I am happy to report that the seller gave me a full refund for the items. So I'm glad I didn't give up and accept the used products to avoid all the stress (there were moments when I thought if this battle were worth the time, effort and stress).
Anyway, Reverb customer service proved to be very good but I'm not sure I'll bother with their sellers again. Cheers!
