Looking for advise and recommendations on a nice record cleaner.
I own and have used two record cleaning devices, and I use them to clean both brand new, and LPs I have purchased used. The record doctor vacuum, and a generic ultrasound bath that has a record "rotator" device clamped onto it. The ultrasound de...

Buying Used Speakers
@elliot. I would not buy used toilet paper from the Russkies.  You can't be serious.
Buying Used Speakers
@paulcreed I watched the UNITED PULVERIZING SERVICE guy free drop my brand new Wharfedale 12.4 speakers off the truck onto the driveway, then flip them end-over-end up my second floor stairs... Lucky all that was broken was one of the floor stand...
Buying Used Speakers
Buying any used hifi generally has more risk than buying new unless there is an ironclad money back return policy.. One exception might be buying new from shady foreign dealers...
Thin Line Between Critique and Courtrooms: A Dialogue on the Recent Audiophile Drama
I expect ASR will have more protection from manufacturer/distributor lawsuits than most since so much - and sometimes all - of his content is emperical measurements. Now a litigant can always claim ASR's measurement technique is flawed and theref...

You tube hifi influencers. Love them or hate them?
Sampled a few videos.  Lost interest mostly.  The only videos I found interesting were the ones where the "influencer" was able to interview on camera a bona-fide industry pro. Those interviews I found interesting.  Mastering engineers, performer...
Dog pissed on speaker
As an experiment I once took normal black plastic trash bags and slipped one each over my Reference 3A DeCapo I speakers (in response to WAF complaint). Could not hear any change in the sound, not one bit of difference.  The plastic trash bags se...
How does a preamp die from sitting unused for a few months?
relative humidity = corrosion. environmental dust = poorly performing pots. mouse and rat piss = corrosion an shorts. rat chews on insulation = shorts

Measure AC voltage across the + - speaker connections at the speaker, with the amp powered up but no signal input. This gives you emperical measurement that you can discuss with ZESTO.  You might also ask him to do the same with one or more of hi...
