Reverb wants to be a big time operator but they just can't figure it out......About half the stuff I buy is either broke or misrepresented ....So when you are trying to get somebody to do something they send you down the (email everybody) path so they don't have to do anything ....and then your 7 day claim period runs out and you can't do anything......Most of the sellers on there know this so they won't respond in the first 7 days , and you lose the return possibility .............This has happened every time I have a problem on Reverb..........With e-bay , you hit the (return item button) and its done......W
Wow, very sorry to hear that. Within the past 10 years I've probably purchased about 20 things off of Reverb, and never had a problem. I always had great communication with sellers, my items were always shipped quickly, and I never had to return anything. Very sorry to hear you're having problems with them, and your sellers.
I agree, My one purchase on reverb was my last purchase on reverb. It was a used cartridge that after about a week or so the stylus suddenly broke while placing in a groove. It had to have been damaged but being new on the scene I didn't know what I was doing.
I just bought a SME 3009 tonearm that got broken in shipping, the seller agreed to pay for the parts to fix it, which I ordered......Now the seller has dropped out, I emailed Reverb and they say I need to make a claim in the first 7 days, which I didn't do because the seller said he would help with the parts......Now the seven days have passed and everybody has dropped out......But there's always Pay-Pal, they will save the day and get my money back.......I have bought over 10 items from this seller and I though he would take care of business, but I find that the Reverb seller knows the tricks of Reverb so they string you out for a week and then they disappear ??? Its magic !!
FWIW, my somewhat limited experience with them has been uniformly positive, but this sounds awful.
I appreciate the testimony. Duly noted.
As previously mentioned here, some strongly worded emails to the highest possible source and a necessarily-vehement written warning with as-negative-as possible a rating are certainly in order. I wish I could provide some good options at this point, perhaps others would have some good suggestions.
Reverb has such a poor system for complants that you can never get to anyone....You send email after email and no one ever responds, I have sent them over ten emails and I have not got the first responce from anyone,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,If it wasn't for Pay-Pal I would give up.........I was spending a lot of money on Reverb, but I'm pretty much done with them at this point.......I think Pay-Pal will get me something on this , but who knows...........W
I received a email today from the " resolution specialist " that pay-pal wants them to refund my money, but that hasn't happened either.......Reverb seems to do what they want and don't seem to care about what anyone else wants, but I think in the next week or so they may send me a refund...........Happy day W
Next day for the pay off that Reverb says they are going to make right away....Its too bad but they didn't do it and the seller sent me a email and said he was sorry but he didn't pay it either.....But most Reverb sellers know you can't make them pay, but Pay-Pal will go back against Reverb and try and get them to make there seller pay, but that hasn't happened either........So I'm still waiting and if something doesn't happen soon I'll put the sellers name on here............W
the most disgusting thing about reverb is taking their 5% on the shipping! The shipping is an expense, not an earning! So in essence their cut is NOT 5%!!!!
It's false advertising. When I contacted them about, they sent me email threatening me that they will suspend my account. Very frustrating, to say the least!
Sir: If they suspend your account that could be a blessing........My seller sent me a email tonight and ask if its ok to send the money, I have been trying to get the money from the beginning and nobody has sent the first "nickle"....I ask for 150.00 to fix this SME tonearm and I have already spent 300.00 in parts and haven't even received the parts......I would have been better off throwing it in the trash and taken my lose......Another day and no payment yet.............W
Today I have sent my 19th email to the crooks at Reverb and still nothing.......They ask yesterday if it was OK to send the money....Why would anybody ask such a question ??? That's what is is all about...........W
Seems like Reverb wants to sell stuff, make money and at the same time wants "zero" responsibility. I'd send the arm back and ask for a full refund. You have enough evidence imo to point out Reverb's lack of attention to this matter and ask for a refund through Paypal.
You are correct that pay-pal will take care of business when nobody else will, but In the future I need to stay away from Reverb like a bad habit...........W
