Looking for a great front ported bookshelp speaker recommendation
There are, of course, many great bookshelf speakers.  However, some of those great speakers will never perform well in a cabinet.  Some, however, do seem to excel in this suboptimal location.  THAT is where you need to focus your research.  I do r...
Diffraction pads for Wilson Audio Sophia 1
Great thread.  Civil. Helpful.  Polite.   Exactly what we need more of.
Need Advice Asap - Terrible experience with a seller on Reverb (Iso Acoustics Gaia ii)
As above. I would avoid Reverb.  Have heard of multiple problems similar to yours on that site.
Blue Jean cable problem
Would you really fix an IC with pliers?  I don't think so. Odds are very high it is a problem with the center pin.  Call Blue Jeans.  I am sure they will just replace it.
CLAYTON SHAW - CALADAN - JULY SHIPMENT LIST
Not quite sure what to make of this post other than what we already know--women have little interest in this hobby.
SOS! Suddenly have a high-end turntable, need to upgrade Amp + Speakers
I will make a very "unbalanced" suggestion that in the end might shock you in performance. The Fosi amp mentioned in another thread is a steal. You can even upgrade the power supply if your speakers need more power. If you go with this approach ...
Warm, yet detailed tube preamp
Several good suggestions and some not so good. The LTA may be a great preamp for some but is clearly not what the OP is seeking. I would agree that if the OP is at all troubled by too much edge or brightness this is probably a function of his sp...
sibilance in system
Not sure if this might be indirectly helpful but I own a pair of the Omega Super 7 mk2 noted above and they have no sibilance issues driven by a 6L6 SE amp.  Wonder if a call to Louis might be helpful on how the Omega Supre 6 Alnicos compare in re...

Tekton Double Impacts
@tjraubacher  The DI's perform very well at lower volumes.  A number of owners used SET amps and were very happy.  I prefer higher powered SS but that is personal preference.  The volume level will not impact detail, imaging or sound stage.  Wha...
Stereophile review of the $30,000 tekton speakers
I think audioaudition needs to read more carefully before he speaks. I said value is relative i.e, it’s different for EVERYBODY. I have no problem with people who value 250K speakers. Please forgive my post. I know I am not worthy of members like ...
Stereophile review of the $30,000 tekton speakers
That's right--never heard a good speaker.  My reference is live music--not so sure I need to a good audio show and "work my way up to $250-500k speakers". Love it when terms like "blow away" are used.  Totally worthless and unqualified. Value is...
Tekton Double Impacts
@2psyop  Tekton haters, as a last resort, point out how ugly they are.  I love the fact I didn't blow thousands on a wood veneer (and I am a woodworker that loves the fine woodworking).  I listen in a darkened room.  Would never see see that rain...
How often, and how, do you clean your stylus?
Before every listening session of 1-3 LP's.
Record player sounds out of tune and "wavy"
The most likely cause is an old stretched belt.  Cheap fix--if you can fined a replacement of the correct size.
