I am selling a Sansui AU-717 integrated amp on competing site and am donating 20% of sale to Ukrainian humanitarian organization, probably one listed in this thread or possibly through a religious organization, or even directly sent to the family of one of my Ukrainian friends. Maybe all of us can consider this if we have something for sale.
Music Lovers! Unite in helping Ukraine!
We are fortunate to live in countries that allow us to pursue financial success. I believe most of us on here has attained that to a degree that we are living relatively comfortably.
The Russian military is beginning to utilize all the massive firepower at its disposal. Since their offensive has bogged down, they are changing tactics. Their new tactic is to surround a city and shell it indiscriminately, inflicting as much human misery as possible. A rocket, missile and artillery shell doesn’t care if you are a soldier, old woman, or an infant. Neither does Putin.
When they unleash it like they did in Syria, it will be a humanitarian catastrophe not seen since the Second World War. Death and destruction on a massive scale.
Please, consider giving to a charitable organization to help.
We have so much. Give some of it to whom it will literally make a difference between living and dying. You will be saving a life. A life of someone loved. Just as you love.
unitedhelpukraine.org
This is the charity I used, but there are several more of your choice. International Red Cross, Save the Children, CARE, to name a few.
Please, let’s all do what we can to help.
**** Looks like this thread is in danger of being removed. I hope it doesn't happen. I have followed it through the noble responses and the ignoble ones. My wife and I have donated to a cause to help displaced Ukrainians. We pray daily about this horrific situation unfolding before the world. Again, thank you and God bless you! **** Couldn’t have said it better; thank you. The hypocrisy of some is stunning. Claiming to care deeply about the people living through this horror; all the while, ignoring the pleas to keep the thread on track, so as to not risk losing it and its noble purpose. A donation, most likely smaller than the cost of a vacuum tube or two does not give license to use the thread in a self serving way. At a time like this…..talk about portfolios. Good grief! |
@tomic601 , they're deleting your posts? You've taken the high road from the very beginning, staying above the fray. I'd love to see this entire thread reconstituted for all to read. The more you know..... you know. All the best, |

Is Ritter the guy who spent time in jail for unlawful contact with children? At least his Russian wife might have a problem with that type of behavior? I’m also pretty sure he didnt write in broken English.
Seriously, what do the apologists for the Russian cause hope to accomplish in a thread created for and dedicated to the plight of the Ukrainian people? Are they here to slow down the giving or to enlist others to their cause, neither of which is likely. |
I don’t care what your politics are. I don’t care what your geopolitical views are. I don’t care what side of history you believe. I care about doing what I can to help innocent people survive this mess. That is what this thread is about. That is all this thread is about. And yes, that would entail being like minded individuals who share a common belief in doing this. Please, again, donate to a charity of your choice if this is a cause you can get behind. If you don’t care to help or share a bit of support, you have the rest of this forum and the entire internet to explore. A heartfelt thank you to all you guys who took the time to donate and post a few kind words. What a positive difference it will make to those who are losing hope. |
@nonoise I deleted it….in retrospect it was not helping…. i will stay on the $ donation and prayers path…. |

Do you people understand the intent of agent provocateurs! They want this thread to be taken down, they don't want people to communicate their compassion and consideration for Ukranian people.
These are people devoid of empathy and compassion, they lack the content of character required to be human, therefore, they do not have the right of humans in regard to this thread. This thread is intended to unite people with character and human feeling to act with generosity towards the Ukranian people. These provocateurs intention is to distract and create hate and anger. They should be banned from this thread, let them start their own thread defending destroyers of human life. Arguing over censorship is part of their plan to destroy this thread, I say go somewhere else with your ugly minds and words.
How anyone can watch this horror day after day and not feel empathy for these people is beyond my ability to comprehend. |

The thread creator is a great soul moved by human sufferings.... We must respect his deed and demand.. I will not qualify the "political" discussion by the two sides here... My best to all, including ALL people here... Excluding humanity from some people and excluding people from humanity like some did instead of shutting their mouth and thinking is despicable for me... But even to them i wish the best.... Donating and be silent....Not donating stay silent.... Humanity is and will be one.... Anything else is illusory...

Because of certain individuals here who simply could not respect the spirit of this thread, it is due to be shortly shut down. A huge thank you to all you kind and generous souls who took the time and contributed to alleviating some of the misery this invasion has caused and will continue to cause. Please continue to spread the word to help. A special thank you to Tammy for allowing it to stay up as long as it did so that we may do our small part to help.

@thecarpathian thank you for starting the thread and for the compassion that moved you to do so.
Tammy, you are the best, many thanks to you… |
Yes thanks to Tammy and @thecarpathian great idea and glad so many of us donated. |
Thank you @thecarpathian for starting this thread and thanks to Tammy and A'gon for allowing it. At least it opened a few eyes and wallets. All the best, |
This is what should open eyes and wallets. The children, the real victims of Putin's aggression. Send this image to your congress person. Look at those eyes they tell it all.

Any other charity recommendations (and why)? My first pick has always been Doctors Without Borders/USA (aside from Hero Rats), but I have not researched too many others. The Red Cross is a no go (for me) as their soliciting/PR budget is way too high IMO. I also feel that Doctors Without Borders/USA soliciting budget is too high @ approx. a $15 cost to secure a $100 donation, but last I looked the Red Cross was expending $25 for the same outcome. Anyone up to date on this stuff care to share their opinions?

My thoughts, words and prayers are with you Ukraine. It’s 2022 for humanity’s and God’s sake. Will we ever learn as a people the simple yet ignored commandment: Thou Shall Not Kill. No other 4 words resonate with such power and authority. I can not think of 4 other words that make more sense to me. We are all of the same when it comes down to it and to begin with for that matter. Why must we kill one another? Leave the people and leadership of Ukraine alone. You are creating a massive humanitarian crisis with the potential for labels such as Mr. Death to be used upon you. If we thought this guy was bad to begin with he is only getting started. This needs to be intelligently as possible stopped. All I can think of as a humble loving concerned humanitarian/human being is to donate wisely and put forth as much smart action as possible. |
