Even DIY speakers don't have to be all that ugly.  This is one side of my DIY fully horn loaded triamplified speakers.  It is a bad photo in that it cuts off part of the Fostex t900a bullet super tweeters at the top of the image.

That's an unusual but beautiful horn speaker for sure. I'd love to hear them.

The most beautiful speakers? Among the ones I've seen, Sonus Faber. By far.

Looking at some of the images posted it's quite clear that beauty is indeed often in the eye of the beholder.

However, these Celestion SL6s are certainly nice looking speakers.

One of the very few that really do look better without grilles.

Yep, those are the original sl6 with the copper dome tweeter. That woofer is a design that was very advanced for the time with no dustcap. It was designed with laser interferometry to study the movement of the cone and ensure that it was as linear as possible in its pistonic movement. Historic design.

this is the weirdest story: last year I was comparing 8+ speakers to upgrade.

I have a few "better" speakers in my garage, that I could save from 4+ moves across Continents and States and Coasts. I bought my Celestion 5s in 1996 on Boylston Street. I still remember what the salesguy said: "if it fits your budget, stop looking at more expensive models, you will be happy with it, You will upgrade later"
So 25 years later, when demoing expensive fancy speakers, I unwrapped my Celestions as a reference for every pair. I couldn’t believe my ears, They sounded better or as good as all these fancy KEFs, Wharfedales, SFs, Klipschs, Totems, etc. Not a lof of bass and highs but super easy listening, fun, detailed, warm, inviting a very nice round presentation of any music. I never put them back in the garage and I never will. Hooked up to my 1060 amp forever (perfect match by the way)

Another very special one is Usher audio BE-20 / TD-20 speakers, if you like unconventional shape speakers, these looks like sailboat to me, which is just as sexy as sonus faber stradis

I haven’t read all the posts but I heard Estelon speakers with VAC electronics this past weekend at Axpona and besides the phenomenal sound they are gorgeous.

I have a friend who once saw the B&W Nautilus at a show in the 1990s and has since regarded them as his ultimate loudspeaker. He just loves the design.

[He also likes art deco, Tamara de Lempicka and baroque styling - yuk!].

Whereas someone like myself can’t understand what’s so endearing about having a pair of giant snails situated in your listening room.

Personally I like the look but don't care for the sound of B&W (any) of their speakers, YMMV.

I never liked the B&W sound and so I never got excited about their speaker design But they are decent for sure.

These fit my eye a tad better than the M3 and M9 models.

While I'm at it might as well toss in Cerwin Vega. Sure all they did was add lipstick to a surround, but it's distinctive and fun and makes you wonder why colored surrounds aren't a standard option, particularly for nondescript black vinyl cabinets.

A cello stand would be better if you don't mind the speaker reclining a touch (shouldn't matter for a shorter speaker).

Most cello/guitar stands of course have a spine, but in that case you'd have to remove the neck rest.

I think edifiers are amazing, you will love them and also quality is good.

They aren't in the beautiful category though.
