Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?

   Considering the many, many brands of power cords I've tried in my very well accomplished high-end system, I have never been so impacted by these Core Power Technology power cords. Within a very short period(15-20) minutes my system literally came alive. Soundstage opened wider and deeper. The background became dead silent, space between instruments and stage members were more focused and everything sounded cleaner and musical than ever. My highs had a glorious crispness and symbols shimmered. Midrange through my 2" horn became more dynamic and punchy. My 15" bass driver tightened and dug low with great control. My Rel G1 which is a fabulous sub on its own but with a CPT 150 on it is another story. Running high pass from my sub to my Audiozen Noah amplifier, music depth is just stunning. Lower end bass is authoritative and clean with solid grip and impact.
   My experience with these power cords is truly magical. The scary part of the above is I only have one 150 on my sub and one 300 from my wall to my 6 outlet bar. I still need 3 more to complete my system. I could just imagine the level after that...In closing, I cannot emphasize enough to try one of these in your system. I CANNOT and WIIL NOT take these out as they are that good. But hold your jaw, cuz what you've been listening to will just become real after Core Power Technologies.

Cheers....and let the tapping begin.......

And how do you think another one of Mark's posts would help Dan, Modwright or the future of the CPT brand or products.  Walking away gracefully and quietly would be best for all involved.  If he feels the need to communicate with the "injured parties" from his actions then do so privately and let this dog die.

We just got back after a rather long trip overseas and just now got time to catch up on this.

WOW is all I have in mind after reading the last few posts.

I really didn't see this coming.

I thought Dan is already busy with his own products.

I actually wonder if Dan will complete the Deep Core. I did read what Mark posted previously.
But, has there been a finished working Deep Core unit that does indeed improve sound quality?
Or is it still in the idea stage?

ozzy
As Dan is currently working on a new phono stage, a new integrated amp and a new DAC mod I also doubt he would do much more with the Deep Core unless he is satisfied that it is a complete and working product.  The Equi=Core products on the other hand are well reviewed, tested and proven to work so continuing with them would be the first priority I would think.  As of yet no mention of the CPT situation on AC and may not be for some time.

If I was him and was in fact attempting to buy CPT the last thing I would want would be Mark back on here with more song and dance.

Up till now, the only thing Deep Core has proven on these forums is that it can blow up systems so  why would anyone with any business sense release it at this point?
@con1150, no I did not lose any funds to Mark. At this point in time, those that have lost funds should be contacting Mark and if you don't get any satisfaction take legal recourse. I'm not sure what good it does any longer to continue to discuss the issue on these forums, unless there is some new information to share.

FYI, for those with continued interest, there is a thread in the Misc Audio forums regarding Core Power Technologies that Dan Wright has responded to.

@con1150

Please red my post in the misc audio forum.

Summary, product is being produced and DC is all but in production. Legal recourse will only mess things up for those who are waiting for product. If you want a refund, contact Mark via PM.

@amg56 I would tend to disagree with what you’ve posted above. Conlog, I’d advise you call to Dan and ask him about outstanding payments given to Mark Schyfter for product.

My understanding as of about a week ago was that if the deals closes, Dan will be taking up new production responsibilities while Mark will remain responsible for outstanding monies owed. Mark has said so much himself.

Deep Core at that point according to Dan hadn't been tested by his Team yet.  Nothing in the other thread says different. Based on what Dan posted he was told by the production engineer the problems were fixed,  which is exactly what Mark Schyfter has been telling everyone for a year.

No one that we know or trust has tested Deep Core and posted their thoughts. The last time Deep Core shipped, according to Lak and Ozzy their was no improvement in sound and it blew fuses in Ozzy's system.
@chazzzy007;  Correction chazzzy007 the version II Deep Core blew fuses in ozzy and Lak's system and damaged drloeg's (was either Dac or preamp) and had to go back for repair. BTW the Deep Core at the time the damage occurred in all three was being used to power one or two components it was NOT overloaded and trying to power an entire system (although we tried that also) as others would have you believe. Funny how I was told that there was a team of Marks personal testers that had extensively tested the version I and II Deep Core and it was supposed to be safe to use on an entire system powering a 1200 or 1800!
@lak

Thanks for the correction. Those threads are hidden now and I couldn't quite remember what damage there was to your system.

I thought it quite odd that Mark's claim since day 1 was that it was front end to a complete system,  yet a poster on here had to point out that one of the parts was only rated to 3 amps or so. If indeed there was a technical team developing Deep Core that would have never been missed.
@chazzzy007, no problem at all, there was a lot written in those threads that are no longer online.
I like many others feel like I was lied to or at least not told the absolute truth. Stories were made up to make it sound like Mark and his company was a high power empire. I remember a comment made by Mark that his team was back from the High-End Munich Show and now that they are back they will be concentrating time on the new improved Deep Core and the new heatsinks that were ordered. Assembly should take place shortly.
As far as I know, the company was a small Mom and Pop set up with at times some help from a few friends.
If I’m wrong about the comments I’ve made I apologize, but I highly doubt that I’m wrong.
My philosophy is, honor the promises you made to people...Mark!
@lak,

I know how you feel. I too kept questioning Mark's excuses but gave him the benefit of the doubt. I figured there were so many weird excuses that nobody could make all those things up and expect people to believe them...i.e. personal identity stolen by friend, son-in- law car accident, multiple illnesses. I could go on and on. I guess I got set up to be fooled when he gave me a free power strip when I initially purchased a CPT 300 unit. Which I later exchanged for a CPT 1200 that easily bested my PS Audio PPP. If  I too am wrong I will apologize. Anybody ,no matter the circumstances, who constantly makes excuses and over promises and under delivers should expect harsh ridicule and
How many others never got the warranty and footers for their CPT 1200 and CPT 1800 that were promised to go out at least a half dozen times. Sorry all but I have held it in for this guy for a long time and feel bad for those who are out funds to this guy. If he isn't deathly ill he needs to be prosecuted to the full extant of the law! I don't even want to hear rumors of the Deep Core ever again.

I am curious if Doug Goldberg was part of the team or involved in the design of the Deep Core. It seems amazing that something simple like the Deep Core would have been designed so poorly given his background. Below is  Marks post  in October 2016 and a link to who Doug is.

https://www.xhifi.com/index.php?section=about&subsection=dougbio

Lastly tonight… I am pleased to share with you that my long-time and very dear friend Doug Goldberg has stepped up with two new designs that are going to change EVERYTHING we know about the Power Product Segment of our industry – just as some of his designs changed everything in the digital world back when we owned Audio Alchemy.

Doug is The Real Deal – he has worked on our nation’s BEST Fighter Jets where power is a very big deal. Doug’s first new product is Deep Core – and we expect that Deep Core will be available in 4 to 5 weeks. The design is in house and it blows me away. This is a very important product for our company and to be candid, Deep Core will work with every other Power Product and cable I’m aware of at this moment.

In Doug’s words –

The Deep Core is a multi-function power conditioner that re-defines the category. The Deep Core is designed to not only provide clean, spur free power but it also allows the user to optimize the power delivery interface via a user adjustment. The optimization of the power delivery interface can significantly affect sound quality as the prime power source is a major contributor to attributes such as the noise floor and dynamic range of the system. The Deep Core can be used with almost any system configuration providing optimized power for both source components and power amplifiers. Deep Core has the following major attributes;

·         Input circuit features a unique DC snubber which stops any DC , constant or transient, imposed upon the power lines from passing through the Deep Core and into the system. DC can saturate the transformers of source components and cause voltage fluctuations.

·         After the DC snubber the Deep Core has a complex common mode filter designed to suppress any RF signals that may be riding on the power lines. This RF energy can raise the noise floor and affect the total dynamic range of the system. The EMI filter is implemented with high quality magnetics that will not saturate under high current conditions.

·         After the common mode filter a second EMI/RFI filter is implemented that further cleanses the power of unwanted out of band products. This additional filter includes integrated surge suppression to ensure that no high voltage transients, such as the voltage from a lightning strike, will pass through the system

·         The last stage of the Deep Core contains the adjustable power delivery interface. This interface allows the user to optimize the power delivery to his or her system. This unique capability allows the Deep Core’s performance to be optimized for each individual user case.

Please note that we surely do want to tell you more about this “Adjustable Power Delivery Interface” and later we surely will. For now, we are only saying that this adjustment makes differences that will startle. Like our Balanced Power EQUI=CORE models, this topology is rooted directly in science. No hocus-pocus. A full and complete suite of measurements will be published in November for Deep Core and of course… the perfect companion product is our AC Balanced Power Source --- EQUI=CORE. They make beautiful music together. As this product is IEC in – and Hubbell Duplex Out – your existing power cords are welcome and will perform like you have never heard them. It’s going to be fun.

All 15 of those of you that paid and waited for EQUI=CORE 1200 or 1800 you will be given very special factory coupon to use if you find yourself interested in Deep Core. Continuing to say how sorry I am.

Thanks again – and my apologies for this ultra-long message

@bg1968

There is an on-going discussion with Dan Wright about CPT and Deep Core in another section of these forums. Get involved and post your thoughts here:

https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/core-power-technologies
I spoke to Doug and so did other beta testers, during the testing period that was read about in the deleated forum, and yes he was the designer or the Deep Core to the best of my knowledge. I have a feeling that what Doug designed and his original intention for the unit was carried to an extream by Mark. If I'm incorrect I want droleg to please correct me.
You are correct, Lak. Having also spoken to Doug several times, and having him pick up one of the fried deep cores at my place,(he lives within half an hour), he did not initially intend the DC to handle what Mark promised. Mark also jumped the gun on some of the early versions by sending them out to us betas before Doug had a chance to test and aprove the units.

That seems to be the way this is playing out. I really appreciate the post by @bg1968 which gives and overview on the development and position of Deep Core.

I know Mark saw so much promise in his products that he began selling vapourware, most likely to gather funds to complete it. Unfortunately it was all the products that became unavailable and I really do not know how many there are of us on his order books still waiting. I realise there were a few who managed to get refunds early on, but for the remainder, we just wait.

I tried calling Mark (from Australia) last Friday, but only managed to get his message service. I think one of the big problems here is the lack of communication from Mark. For those of us with a financial investment in CPT for goods as advertised, but still waiting, Mark has a BIG responsibility in communicating his position in all of this and he need to tell each of us when our promised products will be available.

I have asked Mark for a refund, but more out of frustration with what is happening (or not). Shortly thereafter I emailed to say I still would like to continue to wait for the products and hope they are going through some appropriate QA process. I hope Mark contacts us soon. A.

Mark,

Just saw the announcement from Dan Wright on the other thread.

If you want my help, let me know.
Here is your chance to prove to me that you’re honest and sincere when you kept saying you had always wanted to work with me to redeem yourself.

I wanted this to be in the open so, hopefully, CPT customers wouldn’t have to search for any updates.

The ball is in your court.

Thanks,

Hugh

@con1150 Hugh has followed these threads and is well aware of the paid for but as of yet undelivered product. He didn’t have to post anything on this thread. Let’s let him discuss these issues directly with Mark and keep us updated here.

Good luck Hugh! 👍

@con1150 I’m well aware of Mark’s past, as well as the number of my fellow posters on these forums that are owed money and so is Hugh. Hugh is a successful businessman who knows the importance of making sure that the customers who are owed money or product need to be taken care of if he purchases CPT. I’m sure that’s one of the reasons he’s posted publicly about his intent to offer to purchase CPT.
I don't think Aceman's is looking to go into business with Mark. He is a old friend and offered him help in the past. Hugh does own a Audio business but his background would suggest to me he could help Mark legally and maybe the people that are owed money.

Dear Friends,

With great pride and pleasure I can inform you that Core Power Technologies LLC has an offer sheet in hand and will be sold to a wonderful group that has decades in the audio space.

This company will be headed daily by our friend Kemper Holt who will be taking all calls and answering all e-mails for Core Power. Mark and Lynn are no longer going to be involved and will concentrate on health and wellness in the coming months and years. All products will be built, tested and shipped from Newbury Park CA at the facilities of RF Circuits.

Further details will be forthcoming but I can share with you that we are now in-process confirming all product owed (or refund where requested) for the new to-be owners. Many of you will see e-mails from cptstatus@outlook.com to confirm all details. The new group will be handing ALL refunds or product shipments. Some of you requested EQUI=CORE 300’s for your Deep Core order and we shipped 3 such units last week. More forthcoming. The very nice lady doing these tasks for the new owner has reported some very nice messages – I thank you for that! She is roughly ½ way through the data I provided.

There is a lot I would love to share… but my Job One Focus is to get the everything ready for the new owners and deal with current needs here. All of my contacts remain the same for now.

corepowertech@outlook.com

If you have questions or needs – just call me – or write.

I wish to personally thank Dan Wright for his consideration. I did inform Dan about 12 days back about a new offer but I needed to verify everything before stepping forward. Dan is a good person and a wonderful friend too boot. Thank You Dan.

Best wishes to all…

Mark and Lynn

Has the offer been accepted, and has escrow been opened? How long is escrow and the due diligence period for the buyer, and when is escrow scheduled to close?
I have hear nothing from Mark or the interim group, despite numerous emails. I am still in holding pattern. Using fuel and not happy.
Thank you All for your comments.

I have not heard anything from Mark so I guess he didn’t like my offer. 😜

In any event, what I don’t understand is why Mark can’t post and had to rely on Kemper?

This is a lot more bizarre than the av123 saga.

I am still waiting for a contact from the interim group who are supposed to be looking after Mark's business and customers prior to Kemper taking over.

No news is not so good news in this case.

I have sent 3 emails to cptstatus.com and 1 to Mark directly. I think the "phone" is off the hook and no-one is home. :(

I am sorry for my previous rant, which the moderators felt was over-the-top. (That is, they removed my post.)

I have been screwed by high-end manufacturers and audio dealers over the years, though none of that occurred on Audiogon nor indirectly with unscrupulous manufacturers and dealers who communicate with consumers on Audiogon forums.

In my experience, when a manufacturer or dealer fails to honor a basic promise, pledge or warranty, there’s is really nothing one can do. I once attempted to take one Michigan audio dealer to task with the Iowa State Attorney’s Office on Consumer Protection when I lived in Des Moines during my college years. My contact there (face-to-face meeting) was pretty much a waste of time and did nothing.
I recognize the value of a group of disgruntled consumers venting about their collective, negative, experiences with a common manufacturer. Group cathartic discussions can bring some benefit to those affected, though not necessarily in the form of pocketbook refunds nor products delivered.

There is no reason why consumers adversely affected by the actions of one or two bad apples should continue to be teased with the prospect that just compensation is on the horizon. The potential danger of having manufacturers contribute consumer forums, wherein promises made appear suspect at best or illusory at worse, is something that moderators should be mindful of and attempt to curb.

@celander

Nice and professional updated post.  You know the saying “you catch more flies with honey...not vinegar...”

I hope everyone waiting on money or gear finds 100% satisfaction.
@grannyring

I stand by my previous suggestion that this thread should be closed to new postings (but not removed for obvious reasons of relevant content). But of late, much of what is posted here on this thread has nothing to do with the original intent of thread, namely "Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord(s)?"
There are other ways where those adversely affected by this one manufacturer can communicate together about these issues. I encourage the moderators to offer a pathway for that purpose.

The moderators did not delete the other relevant thread that is sort of on topic with the possible future of these products. I erred to suggest otherwise. So maybe much of what is discussed here can be picked up there.

Just my two cents worth and a gentle suggestion to the powers that be.

Lots of posts trying to warn about Mark's previous history of fraud were removed by moderators,  including one by @ozzy  very early on. Even when Ozzy tried to post about his previous warning post it was deleted.

All,

From what has, or has not transpired, it would seem that the notice signed off be Mark and Lynn, posted by Kemper is not all it appears to be.

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has been contacted by this mysterious "cptstatus@outlook.com" email address regarding their order/refund status.

From my perspective, this appears to be a blind post to take the heat away from CPT and Mark himself. I do not believe that there is a new offer/owner, nor do I believe that CPT et al are going to make good on business promises made in the past.

With this in mind, I intend to contact the equivalent of Australia's business complaints ombudsman (State Attorney’s Office on Consumer Protection?) to see what can be done to seek recompense or justice for what appears to be blatant fraudulent business behaviour by Mark Shifter.

I have repeatedly tried to contact this mysterious interim status group, which I believe now is bogus, emailed Mark as welcomed by Mark himself in his notice, and even tried to phone call him from Australia, all without success.

I would like to hear from anyone who may be able to assist in this matter so that "customers" like myself can seek some sort of representation or justice in this whole fraudulent saga.

Thanks, Adrian

This is the biggest scam since the Art Audio/Joe Fratus debacle years ago. Some members should recall that one.
Stumbled on this thread, but as the son of a former police officer and prosceuter those impacted should refuse to do anything with these guys but sue them, bring criminal charges against them, and trash their names on every forum you visit.

A good thief is a great liar and adept on making you think he/she done nothing wrong.

Sue the bastards!
I agree with what @con1150 suggested. Need to file the complaint with the state AG office having jurisdiction over the company, which would be Colorado. This is likely where I erred in the past by going after that Michigan audio dealer via the Iowa AG office on consumer fraud and protection.
