CD RACK

I have a lot of really nice CD’s made in the 2000’s when they were putting out all kinds of remastered and numbered cardboard editions and box sets, anyways I have always loathed the ugly wooden CD racks or cases, then recently I decided to dig out all my CD’s and start playing them again, I had CD’s everywhere, my wife was getting mad at me so I found online this BOLTZ company and I wish they were making these racks 30 years ago I would have been so happy like I am now.

Nice ideas people! And YES the rack is bolted to the wall by two brackets, its super stable.

I took a different approach that only works if you have less than 400 cds and don’t really want to store them. I bought an old Sony CDP-CX400 carousel player and all my CDs are in it. About 370cds are in it alphabetical and the display was programmed with Artist and Title. When I am just randomly listen I put the player on shuffle....and when I want a CD for my better spinner, I just take it out and put it into my single CD spinner. If I don’t want to do critical listening, the CX400 is connected to an external DAC and it sounds a step better. It took alot of time to do this, so it is not the best solution, but I have limited space for my CDs..

I enjoyed my Soundstyle rack until I gave up CDs and sold it. It revolved so it was easy to access both sides.  Very well built and feet adjustable in height.

I had a Boltz CD rack.  It was very solid -- reassuringly rigid with no flexion.  I felt sad when I had to give it up during a move.

But for footprint efficiency, I am using big wood spinners now.  Huge capacity without hogging floor or wall space.

May look like that, but they are specifically made for CD storage. More for office storage, but works for music CD’s as well….obviously

I got rid of my racks….now use boxes. A little less cluttered looking….

Great point to consider. All I do now is pass by with a Swiffer with one stroke.

Glad it's working out for you Matt, but I am pretty sure there was decent shelving around 25 years ago.

You may be weary of looking at old wood cabinets but atleast you are not dusting off the CD’s every week. I own 5 cabinets full of media with glass doors from Leslie Dame :-)

I have been thinking about picking up one of these Racks as well. Is it easy to assemble ?

Happy Listening!

They have been around for thirty years.  They are great racks, just remember to dust your CDs once in a while.

I am giving all my CDs and racks away. Streaming is as good or frequently better. They are just taking up space.

Thanks for the link. I like the look of them and am tired of my old craftsman style oak cabinet that's a PITA to go looking through (glass paned doors and tight access). I also like that you can separate out different styles and genres of music making viewing a snap.

All the best,
