Best undiscovered speakers on the market today ?

Have you ever noticed the same brands of equipment and speaker manufacturers being debated over and over again in most threads ? I am curious what are some of the most little know speakers deserving mention you have heard ? With the lone caveat that they must still be currently in production.

I am curious to hear from some of the more research oriented audiophiles like myself. Those who don't just buy it because someone else liked it but listen for them selves.

Remember this hobbie is allot like choosing a mate there are no wrong choices as long as it works for you and suits your personal taste !
definitive
Ask me that question next July 30, 2016 and I will tell you then! These speakers are not on the market yet!
Bcgator, I won't hold my breath. I've heard talk about a definitive top-end speaker.

The BMC Arcadias replaced my Tidal Contriva diceras, but back when I was younger I had Retilinear IIIs and Behorns.
Tbg, yes I'm sure they do lack the bass that the BMC Arcadias put out! That's like saying the Ford F150 lacks the carrying capacity available in an 18-wheeled tractor trailer :-) With two 11-inch woofers per side, and weighing 200 lbs each, I'm quite certain the floor-standing Arcadia puts out more bass than any monitor design I've ever heard of. And at $36K per pair, I do believe the Arcadias will never see the inside of my humble abode. BMC's product dichotomy is interesting - they have the PureVOX at just under $6500, basically a monitor on an integrated stand, and then the big Arcadias all the way up at $36K. I wonder if they'll add something in the middle, to fill the gap.
Bcgator, I still remember at CES when Carlos just plunked down the Pure Vox in his room and connected them to the amps. They are indeed quite impressive. But they lack the bass that is evident in the BMC Arcadias, which are, of course, more expensive. I think the BMC gear in general is undiscovered in the USA.
I just posted a review of my BMC PureVOX, which I've now owned for a few months. They were off the beaten path for me, stepped out on a limb and gave them a shot and I'm elated with them. My previous experience was with a lot of B&W, Proac, Sonus Faber, Mirage, AR, all big well-known names. I'm guessing most people have never seen a pair of the PureVOX, but they best everything I've ever owned before. I think they qualify as "undiscovered" for most people.
I have 3 for you:

1. Magnestand (mofified Maggies)
2. WaveTouch Audio Grand Teton's
3. Linkwitz Orion's or LX521's

If you want a real "giant slayer" for a small room (or even a large room): you will not find anything that will beat the WaveTouch Grand Teton monitors - simply amazing, especially for the price!

But... if I have a little larger budget... the Linkwitz Orion's or LX521's would be my choice over all other's available! Unvbelievable "live, life-like" sound!
In another thread I asked if there was any experience with ADAM loudspeakers from Germany. They use a Heil driver variant for mids and highs.

There are no responses yet.

Interested specifically in their Tensor line.

Anybody here heard them?
Audiokinesis is one I have not heard that I would very much like to, especially as an option for use with a good tube amp.
I have to second Ralph's recommendation of Audiokinesis speakers. I have the Jazz Modules and am very happy.
I would say what many at CES noted, namely the LSA1 speakers, in particular the Statements. This small monitor outperforms most much larger and more expensive speakers and all for $2800 a pair.
The Ascendo speakers from Germany. Designed by Prof.Scheuring and voiced to the pattern of the Quad electrostat but with killer dynamics and extension in the
bass. Time and phase coherent and very musical.

Regards,
Two speakers that deserve merit are Audiokinesis and High Emotion Audio.

The Audiokinesis perform well above their price points, are easy to drive, wide bandwidth and plainly outright musical.

Another is the High Emotion Audio line. They have patented a new kind of tweeter that is much faster than the prior art and is also very efficient. I've not heard their more full-range efforts yet, but their monitors are without question head and shoulders above the competition.
I can't believe no one has mentioned Renaissance Audio(Morel).I have spent the last 2 days listening to a pair of "Duets"driven by the Triode mode of my Yaqin tube integrated amp(21 watts per channel)& they are sublime!
Good day all, Grant Fidelity has two models of monitors that are absolutely outstanding. The top model being their RBS-1 monitor at around 2k mark. The bass produced from these is incredible, so much so, I had to settle for the model down, the MBS-1. (approx. 1k) my room is simply too small the RBS's. I'm not complaining though, it saved 1k, and the sound is still outstanding.
Depending on how far you define "undiscovered"

A few years ago, Albert mentioned Bösendorfer; Brodmann may be regarded as a successor to them since Bösendorfer speakers went out of production after Yamaha took over that venerable company;
Also, one that belongs to the really almost unknown:
Daluso (Design Aluminium Soundsystems)

I think the more recent OHMs qualify for the reasons Bondman indicated.

Their design is unique which makes them an interesting alternative to more conventional designs, be they popular or one off.
Either "Audes Blues" or their top of the line "Orpheus". I owned the BLUES for about five years and loved them. Also listened to the Orpheus speakers and was very impressed. Audes is located in Lithonia, Russia.
Eminent Technology LFT8's - the more power you give them the better they sound. Mine use a classe ca300. Amazing vocals, strings.
Although they've been around for over 30 years, Ohm Acoustics might qualify. These days, with only word-of-mouth and email advertising, few audio press reviews, and no hifi show demo appearances, Ohm is somewhat under the radar.

I will admit that I arranged to home-audition a pair of Ohms because other Audiogoners described them in a way that suggested they were what I was seeking. That turned out to be very much the case. A year after I decided to keep my Ohm Walsh 2000s, I could not be happier with them and the value they offer. My full review of these speakers is in the Review section of this site.
Bo Bengtson's "Transmission Audio M1i"
The successor of the "Red Rose R3".
It can change the way of listening & evaluating speakers once & forever.
A second two thumbs up for Venture speakers....incredible sound and build quality, great cabinets... Almost no advertising presence, no re net reviews....but fantastic word of mouth...too bad they are so freaking expensive, much better than Magico's
Venture speakers ( CR8 Signature). They absolutely blew away my Focal Alto Be and new B&QW 802 Diamonds away in every manner.
>They are in fact the show speakers that won Best of Show at the New York Audio show.About 4 years ago I sent them Back for new cabinet Rosewood Rather the the original ugly black.I have heard no speakers at any price I wold replace them with and I, heard speakers up to half a mil per pair<

So is this some kind of riddle? Would you like us to *guess* what speakers you are talking about?

Shakey
They are in fact the show speakers that won Best of Show at the New York Audio show.About 4 years ago I sent them Back for new cabinet Rosewood Rather the the original ugly black.I have heard no speakers at any price I wold replace them with and I, heard speakers up to half a mil per pair. I;ve never heard the mythical RMX speakers, I,ve never seen them. They were perported nearly impossible to produce.I'd really like to hear RM 50s at this years Rockey Mountain audio fest.
Zu Definitions, but mainly they are just too new I think, forget it nothing close in the price range, Dual full range, no crossovers, powered array of 4 more 10's down to 16 hz... the Reimers as suggested above are somewhat close, so are VMPS... but then you gotta go to far more money Avantgarde Duo type money and those are killer un-known as well
I have a pair of the Salk HT3 veracity's these are sweet speakers for $4500.00
Shahinian - Their speakers have been around for over twenty years. Made in the USA but sold more to the European market.
I have the 1.5 WC and they are great. They are really under priced for their build quality and parts. The sound is fantastic with a smooth, laid back charater. The tweeter L-pad on the back should be standard equipment for all speakers.

Selah Audio, Jim Salk, Epiphany and the new incredible speaker by Bobby Lee of Acoustic Zen...wow!
Decware Radial 1.5. There is so much this speaker does right. For the first month or so I thought I had made a mistake in gettting these. They take awhile to loosen up and break in. After going to the VTV show in Arcadia, I was surprised at how all the speakers I listened to sounded like nothing more than sophisticated, elaborate and refined PA systems. They were all simply too 'in your face' in their approach and had small sweet spots and it wasn't a result of the small rooms: I listen in the 'nearfield' in a room not much bigger than what they had and couldn't take it for the long term. I guess I'm spoiled by these Decwares.
Daedalus Audio DA-1 in my books are one of the top performing speakers I have heard after auditioning many speakers. I own them and after braking in they are musical spks very dynamic, detail and warm sounding.
I do love my Thor's, a kit i bought from madisound last spring, $2K/which included shipping. Had a friend solder the points to the xovers, not too difficult, but need a good/very powerful soldering gun + a little patience.
definetly undiscovered jewel.
I will second the Reimer recommendation. Rick really knows what he is doing. His speakers are finely crafted and sound wonderful.

Oz
You should add SALK Veracity 3's to the list also. I do not own them, but i had the pleasure of hearing them at the designer/builder's home and they are quite impressive -- especially for under $5k.

Incredible cabinetry, ribbon tweet, magnesium mid, & perhaps the best non-powered bass I have ever heard from the non assuming-looking 10" aluminum woofers.

I believe they were voted "best of show" at one of the Rocky Mountain Audio shows also.

Definitely worth looking into and auditioning if possible. Also see the excellent review here @ the 'Gon.
Jack_dotson - you're so right. 2.4i's are the best speakers I've ever owned and, without specifically mentioning the others, some cost $15K.
Selah user reviews are extremely positive. Do a google. Also Selah has a forum at audiocircle.com. I've not heard them but after reading so many super rave reviews of Rick's speakers I'd suspect they do well especially for the money.
I have used speakers by this small Canadian company for the last 25 years or so.They have a line called the Reference Series in which they offer three models.I own the Reference TWO.Their website is WWW.SPEAKERDIRECT.COM.
Pricing ranges from $1400 to 4000 Canadian.Quality of build
and sound rivals speakers costing much more. They used to sell factory direct, but are now establishing a network of dealers in Canada and the USA.
I don't know if they qualify for undiscovered, but the Energy Veritas' are so good it's almost unbelievable you don't hear them mentioned all the time, but you rarely do.
I admit it is easier to get excited about a $5k speaker that sounds like $40k than a $40k speaker that sounds like a $45k speaker.

Dale's giving a seminar in Connecticut over the next few days (he left today, 12/15), and I don't know what their phone and/or email contact arrangements are while he's out of town (his company is based in Wyoming). If you send an email, it's important to put something in the subject line that identifies your query as non-spam, i.e. "Question about the Summits: Where can they be heard?" or something to that effect. He seems to travel a lot, so the response time (at least for my emails) has been variable. He's extremely helpful over the phone when you do get a hold of him, however. I personally think he's a genius. (Ralph Dodson, too)
