Welp, just finished that 5LP Schubert box set, complete. I’m a bit stunned. I’ve always wanted to like that set, the vinyl is in NM condition, but, it never ‘did it for me’. Something was missing, it seemed lifeless, and I’d tire of it after an LP, or two, and go back in the shelves. Today it was quite awesome at times. Either it was me, or the Trumpet reached into the grooves and allowed it to sound as I always hoped it would. Quite amazing really.

Now....

Szell conducts Dvořák - The Three Great Symphonies; 7,8, & 9. The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Masterworks 3LP set, 1970
@tomic601 ,

Check out their site.

Got my set for under $100

Ok don’t consider David a hanger-on.!

I feel he knows Gillian is the main part of their relationship and is fine with that. He has his own albums that are Great!
I consider Gillian/David similar to Rosanne/John except John decidedly plays a smaller role in his wife's output.
@big_greg  - Budgie? Really? I thought I was the only Budgie fan here. Well, @uberwaltz was, but he's not around anymore......

Great band. Love them....
Just back from a week of skiing in Colorado, and visiting CO colleges with my son. What happened while I was gone? :~)

Steely Dan - Aja
AC/DC - Back in Black
Rolling Stones - Tattoo You
Donald Fagan - Morph the Cat
Jackson Browne - Running on Empty.  This one is a little beat up, going to order a replacement.
Steve, I love Nashville Obsolete and his work, I thought my “ Girl Friend “
comment would give it away...

I will check out their site...
I did pick up Dire Straits- Debut MoFi 45 rpm, looking forward to that for sure....
Beethoven Triple Concerto
Yo-Yo, ASM, Barenboim
West-Eastern Divan Orchestra
Deutsche Grammophon 2020

A very nice production.  Sounds kinda digital.

Thanks Steve, I’ve been traveling. Grey’s Anatomy had a business trip South so I tagged along. It gave me a chance (Uber-style) to make a very productive visit to a favorite out of town independent record store - this one in San Jose and I came home with a large box. Two or three treasures, many that had been on my long established want list, and quite a few I hadn’t realized yet that I needed.... it was a fun afternoon there with the always helpful owner and staff but I also went through the collectibles and back room stash of Jazz treasures with a Japanese audiophile who was there - terrific guy. We both wound up with original pressings of classics and had a fun discussion about different favorites. He got an OP Time Out and some others. I got a NM first mono of the Sailboat Cover Miles Ahead and a NM first mono of the Bill Evans Trio at Shelly’s Manne-Hole.
So, a fun (to me) thing also happened there. I found a NM copy of a relatively obscure record worth at least $150, that I already have, marked at $5. So, for some silly reason, I pointed that out to the owner, suggesting that he think about raising his price on it. He looked it up and confirmed the recent rise in market value and we discussed some of the crazy things happening with record prices and the effect of YouTube reviews, etc. Then, when I went to check out he insisted on just giving me the record, saying something about it should be my reward for coming in and crate diving. Well, I guess I had also bought a very large stack. Great fun.

William Ackerman ‎– Passage (Windham Hill 1981)

Haven't listened to this in 30+ years yet almost remember every note.
...except, I did play it for the first time in 30 years in Feb 2020 on this thread.
No surprise I remember it. That’s a laugh.
