This is juvenile...

If you had one wish for a perfect female artist to be your lifetime mate, who would it be?

Shelby Lynne
Neko Case
128x128slaw
Grace Slick
Barbra Stieisand
Janis Joplin
Kate Bush
Charlene Darling
and of course, Yoko Ono (just kidding, Gag me with a spoon!)

Sarah Brightman, Julia Fordham, and lately, really been enjoying Katie Melua.
Let's shake things up a little ... and since we're choosing more than on;>)

Joss Stone and LeAnn Rimes, simultaneously please

Sara Evans
Fergie

Yeah... stupid game  but.......

Sade

Terri Nun (Berlin)

Suzanne Vega  (yes I said it!)

When I started this thread, I was skeptical whether or not I'd be banished. Surprisingly, it has taken a life of it's own.
This is such a juvenile post, and I'm reluctant to get involved with such a vapid, absurd topic.

After much soul searching and truly following my deepest desires and my never ending lust for the perfect female artist/lifetime mate, these are my top picks.

Phoebe Snow
Mama Cass Elliot
Susan Boyle
K. D. Lang
Brittany Howard
I would have settled for an extended 3way with Ann & Nancy Wilson, lets say 1975 - 1980.
Oh yes, Please include front row center stage V.I.P. seats to all their shows since we are fantasizing 😜😎
Lita Ford - b.day Sept.19 - turns 60! My, where does the time go! Seems like only yesterday I was listening to her play guitar in the Runaways!
I noticed that someone picked Hope Sandoval. Good choice.I would pick Bjork or Natalie Merchant. Especial Bjork for her uniqueness.
Bjork
Natalie Merchant
Linda Ronstadt
Emmylou Harris
Patsy Cline
Billy Holliday

These are my favoites to listen to but for living with I would take Emmylou for her lovely personality. Watch her interviews on YouTube.
Well since Neko Case and Carlene Carter have already been selected I'll have to go with....Beverly Kenney.
Linda Ronstadt holds permanent title to brain cells of every college boy who saw her that night at the Main Point in late 60s.  Also, Francesca Gagnon for her soaring vocal in "Allegria" from Cirque du Soleil.

Funny topic.
Jim Heckman
Jessi Colter in 1976. Check out the cover of her Diamond In The Rough album. Daaaaamn.....
Who cares73.

Just a bit of useless information here.

My band opened for Bjork in England back gawd knows when? 89, 90?

Unashamed plug and 15 minutes of fame.
Lol
Baroque music specialist, soprano Miriam Feuersinger.

Amazing voice, and stunning looks.
Heaven or hell I'd take my chance on Agnetha Faltskag from ABBA. Serious teenage crush.

Oh man, how could I have forgotten about Marianne Faithful?! The perfect mix of Angel and tramp.
Claudia Muzio, whom Maria Callas tried to emulate (but didn't have the vocal ability).  She combined superb musicianship, extraordinary characterizations with gorgeous soprano sound.
Wow ill spend the next week thinking about this as its very important get back to you ASAP!!!!!
@ebm you crack me up. Really, you have done so for years.  Hard to pinpoint where you are coming from and who the real ebm is. Keep on truckin!
fleschler ...

Claudia Muzio was an excellent choice. Such a beautiful voice.Thank you.

I'm thinking about starting a thread that deals with audiophiles and their attraction to recordings that are drenched in artificial reverb. Ugh!

Thank you. Bidu Sayao was second only to Elsie Houston (from Brasil) who had a much bigger voice but died (suicide) just before Sayao became a big hit. She was unappreciated in Brasil and had a big following in the U.S. I have to make you a CD of her complete recordings. Sayao was so sweet and lovely sounding yet small voiced.    Sample Houston - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lEGux1ULH8
Gilli Smyth
Rose McDowall
Eddie Reader
Carol Kidd
Emma Kirkby
Sandy Denny
Phoebe Snow
Beth Gibbons
Carla Torgerson
Anya Plaschg
Aldous Harding
Licorice McKenchie
Caroline Kava
...

Josie Cotton, Lene Lovich, Pearl Harbor. All three had a lot of personality and musical & visual style. I was a member of Pearl’s band in 2002-3, and she is a real sweetheart. She was married to Paul Simonon (Clash bassist) for a while, and toured in the UK and Europe with Costello, in the States with Rockpile.
I had to reread the forum question.  I do not personally know the character of any of my favorite female singers that I could make an assertion that any one of them could be my lifetime mate.  I chose Claudia Muzio for her public attributes.  I like the dark sultry types of my ethnicity-maybe Roberta Peters, Rise Stevens, Jennie Tourel. Bas Sheva or even Beverly Sills....(when they were under 50 years old).
