Safe to use an old Sumiko Talisman Virtuoso B?
I just put it on my old Dual turntable (it's much easier to set up than my Souther arm), and it plays fine.  It doesn't seem to be unusually low, the bottom of the cartridge looks to be about 1/8" above the surface of the record, although I don't ...

What don't you like about the Classe?
AtmaSphere Upgrade from Mk 3.1 to Mk 3.3
I had already had the Caddock resistors installed in a previous upgrade.
AtmaSphere Upgrade from Mk 3.1 to Mk 3.3
Well, I did it, upgraded my Silver Series from 3.1 to 3.3  Having the amps back for a while now, I can say I'm very impressed with the results, and that the upgrade gave me a significant helping of the sound I was looking for. The sound after ...
Anyone hear Classic Audio T9?
It occurred to me that the system at FLAX I heard was using Novacron amplifiers at rev 3.3, whereas my amplifiers were at rev3.1.  For the small cost of updating to rev3.3, I figured I'd give that a try before changing speakers.  Having the amps b...
Sadly missed manufacturers
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who still remembers Spica.  For $450, their speakers sounded better than almost anything at the time, to my ears at least.
Anyone hear Classic Audio T9?
Clearly, the T9 won't be able to do everything the T3 does.  But if the main loss is maximum output, I don't listen at crazy volume levels, so I was thinking they might work.  My current speakers have 8" drivers, too (sealed box mid & band pas...
Honest question about cartridge vs. turntable performance.
Ivor Teifenbrun's Linn HiFI Hierarchy is still begin debated 50 years on.  The founder of Linn developed the marketing gimmick that the turntable was the most important part of a sound system, followed by the arm, then cartridge, electronics, with...
Integrated for bi-amping with AtmaSphere MA1s
Yes, I m now running Sylvanias in the 3 middle positions, GE on the drivers, and RCA on the CCS.  The Sylvanias are good across the spectrum, the RCAs tone down the highs a bit.  I have not tried the Black Treasures, but I did get some rare Blue G...
Integrated for bi-amping with AtmaSphere MA1s
Thanks for the comments all.  I had been using the MA1s full range, with autoformers, but there was still some edge to the sound and softness to the bass.  Changing to bi-amping improved the bass and took the edge off the midrange.  I suppose all ...
Integrated for bi-amping with AtmaSphere MA1s
The Aleph 3 is an awesome amp! I’m just thinking it might not have enough power for the woofers, although it does sound pretty good. I’m hoping to get a bit more dynamic transient response with a bigger amp. I thought it threw a lot of heat until ...
AtmaSphere Upgrade from Mk 3.1 to Mk 3.3
I see that he is very enthusiastic about his upgrade, but he doesn't get very specific about what the changes were, technically or sonically.  What should I expect from the upgrades, sonically?  I understand the 3.3 upgrade replaces the CCS tube  ...
Tube tester...anyone own their own?
I bought a TV-10Du that was supposed to be in perfect working order from someone on ebay.  It arrived dead.  I thought it was probably something loose I could fix, but never could find anything obvious, sold it at a bit of a loss.  Then bought an ...
Music Server for feeding Theta Gen VIII DAC
I want my audio system to be free from my computer as much as possible.  I've been debating whether I'd prefer to load everything from my computer onto an outboard hard drive, or have the music server rip them from an internal CD drive to internal...

I see there is a notation that says there have been 8 responses to this thread, the last one by Audiotroy, but I only see 6 responses, the last one by Ricred.  Does anyone else see 8 responses, or know why it says there are 8 when I only see 6?
