Sean Connery has passed away :-(

I know this isn't audio related, but James Bond has passed away.

R.I.P. Sean...loved your character!

Sean Connery hardly put a foot wrong as James Bond.

Wonderful films, and some great songs too.
Brought a gun to a knife fight.
About time to rewatch Sir Sean in Finding Forrester
or
Highlander

Sad to see that generation of actors slowly fade away. They don't make them like that anymore, save for a few who have some connection to those times.

I liked him in The Man Who Would Be King, with Michael Caine. They were the progenitors of the buddy movie. The one that most don't know about is The Offense. Some say it's his best performance. In it, he plays a detective on the hunt for a child molester and during his interrogation, he beats the man to death.

That is not a spoiler but rather the set up as the movie then dives into what made him the kind of man who would do that. I haven't seen it in ages so I don't know how well it holds up but I remember being taken aback by it.

All the best,
Nonoise
Someone said, i dont remember whom, that in Holliwood or in stardom only 2 characters, not only were not changed for the worse but were not and never changed at all : Lassie and Sean Connery....

More charisma is impossible to fathom.....
I'll miss Connery. But when its Eastwood, don't tell me. I'm not sure I'll be able to take it.
James Bond...too cool for school!
Saw all the early movies at the drive-in as my dad would only watch Bond on the big screen.  Very fond memories.  Also it's easy to forget how "racy" those movies were at the time. R.I.P. Sean
I feel so sad to hear the news. Love his movies , The Rock, Dr Jones Senior.....James Bond movies......

We will never forget you ,Sir !
RIP OG 007. You might not be the latest James Bong, but definitely the greatest!

Indiana Jones: "You never talked to me when I was young!"
Papa Jones: "You left home just when you were getting interesting"...
R.I.P.
Oh yes, William of Baskerville in "The Name of the Rose".
Will I ever forget that line, walking up to that monestary with his squire, the kitchen rubbish thrown down the side of the hill,... the unwashed poor scrambling to pick through it: "Another generous donation from the church to the poor." 😝
Just so on point! :-)

I recall seeing Sean Connery in "Darby O’Gill and the Little People" back in the 1950’s at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. He was great then, and even better, as 007 in the James Bond series. Very sorry to know he's gone.
"Darby O’Gill and the Little People"

That was one of my kids favorite movies growing up.  We were just talking about that last night.  With Halloween, The Banshee came up from that flick...
Apologies to any Roger Moore fans out there but Connery’s the only James Bond I can rewatch time and time again.

Weird also that the main representatives of masculinity I grew up with - John Wayne, Steve McQueen, Bruce Lee, Muhammad Ali, Sean Connery have all departed with no obvious replacements taking their place.

A lot of today’s representatives just seem like cardboard cutouts. Sorry Messrs Stallone, Diesel, Willis, Statham etc.

Just Clint Eastwood left.

Sure is a different world now.
Gary Cooper, Humphry Bogart, James Cagney, Audrey Murphy, Anthony Quinn, Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, Yul Brynner, Mickey Rooney, Gregory Peck, Charlton Heston, Robert Mitchum, Cary Grant, David Niven, Jimmy Stewart, Orson Wells, the list goes on and on and on.

OH I for got Tiny Tim.. He was a heart throb....

Now for the ladies..... Where shall we start...

I have to say this The best actor that played a character and did the best job EVER was Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday. "I'll be your huckleberry", best job ever....
