Natalie Merchant - Leave Your Sleep
I'm a big Natalie Merchant fan. I've seen her live a few times and it's always different. I have all her solo albums, and the ones with 10,000 Maniacs. As the first responder above said, she is an acquired taste. Many of her albums are a little da...
Jethro Tull
P.S. I liked the Tull albums so much that I have many Mobile Fidelity issues in LP and CD. I recently bought an MF "Original Mastering Recording" LP of "Aqualung" at an antique store for $100. Yikes! But, it does sound amazing.
Jethro Tull
larsman, Thanks for looking in. I was a fan when "This Was" first came out in the late 60's. I had just gotten my first apartment, and my neighbors were big Tull fans who took pictures at their concert and gave me one. Then I heard "Stand Up" and...
Jethro Tull
larsman, My wife and I saw them at the Paramount several years ago. I believe it was some sort of anniversary tour. Ian’s voice may not have been the same as the 1970’s but I’m such a fan that it didn’t matter. They played the hits, like "Thick A...
Jethro Tull
Jethro Tull is an acquired taste, and not for everyone. If you listen often enough to any one of their albums, it will likely become your current favorite. They are just that hypnotic. Ian Anderson was the driving force of every album. IMO, he is ...
Mike's Barn.
Just another vanity video. Impressive gear, though! If I were single, my listening room would look similar. I'm not, so it doesn't.
2025 Rock-N-Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees
After the last Hall of Fame induction ceremony, I learned that Jethro Tull is not among the groups enshrined there. The credibility of that institution, for me, is gone. Let’s hope that’s remedied in the not too distant future.
“A complete unknown”
We saw it on Christmas Day, and loved it. Go see it, and you won't be disappointed. Or, wait till it comes out on cable. In any case, you will like it!
Linn LP12 turntable
The road to a satisfying analog rig can be a long one. As you said, many audiophiles own, or have owned, an LP12. Like everything else, there are always conflicting opinions. In any case, the LP12 will be a big step up from your Project table. Con...
What are you using to clean LP album covers?
I have had success cleaning certain album covers with "NOVUS #1 Plastic Clean and Shine". You can buy it online. Test the album first in an inconspicuous place. I don't want to be responsible for damage to your collection. YMMV (Your mileage may v...
Cartridge for Michell Gyro SE and SME 309
Just FYI, there is a Michell MC cartridge for sale here on Audiogon (The Music Room), within your stated budget. You might check it out.
Cartridge for Michell Gyro SE and SME 309
I don't know if this will help you, but I have a Michell Gyro Dec turntable that I bought from a local stereo store. It was their demo table that was up and running, so I had the opportunity to hear it before I bought it. The sale included the car...
Luxmann PD444 is up and spinning!
I sold my mint Luxman PD444 table several years ago while we lived in the SF Bay Area. The guy who bought it had a heavy Russian accent. He just missed buying my Technics SP10 because someone had responded before him. I asked him how many turntabl...
Moody Blues founder Mike Pinder passed away today at 82
Another Moody gone. That's just very sad news. I can't comment on who were the original members and who contributed what, but the Moodys were such a class act. I have all their albums on CD and vinyl and listen to them often. My favorites are "In ...
Cardas Customer Service is Amazing!
I have not had experience with Cardas, but I can say that I have had similar results with Kimber Kable. I bought a Kimber phono cable here on Audiogon, but I had an unacceptable amount of hum when connected to my system. I sent them to Kimber and ...
