cerberus79 A few months ago I purchased a used pair of speakers from another Agon member. To my surprise all the fuses were Orange fuses. I listened to them and then to satisfy my curiosity I replaced them with ordinary buss fuses and could not hear a difference. I did this test with a bunch of friends and neither I or them could hear a difference. Kind of just says it all doesn't it?
To those non technical thinking of purchasing these $$$ fuses. Just save your $150+ and do this instead.

Just clean and tighten your fuse holder and re-new your fuse (if old) with a good quality 50cent Bussman, Littlefuse or similar. As with "many switch-on surges" they do deteriorate, bend, stretch and get crusty with electrolysis formations on their fusible wire elements before they give out, as these pics show of a fuse wire element ageing over time show. https://ibb.co/9NbTwqK (even the $$$ boutique ones will age just as much also)

What are you going to do when multi vendors say GEORGE is costing US money and WE want him banned. Him or US.. We pay to sell here, he stops the sales.
Which is NONE of your business. not one flippin’ bit.. I say it all the time, what I buy is 100 times less than what others pay.. BUT never it’s not worth it to others, just not to me... YOU can’t seen to be able to tell the difference. Your advocating people are unable to make up their own mind.
You keep speaking about a different topic, stock fuses.. Apples Oranges
Tammy says this removal is not by mods, it’s by multiple reports from members, and this is now being watched as to see who has the multiple memberships to get it removed so fast???
George you’ve been ask very nice, by several people..
Quit posting the fuse information. They want to know about boutique fuses.
It’s just like asking a question about a Pass Lab amp, but giving information about an RCA transistor radio. They are two different things and they are NOT related to the topic... AT ALL. THAT is why you keep getting reported...
You cannot change the reason for YOUR post.. Stock fuses.
This is about anything BUT stock fuses.. Do you understand the difference? Kind of like fighting to the death BUT the war is already OVER...
The above post of mine is not in any violation of Audiogons posting rules, and is also not offensive in any way, neither is the added quoted post in it by cerberus79
So if it keeps coming down it is very easy for me to paste it back up, so then non technical can hear from the technical side before spending a small fortune on a 10cent fuse, then they can make up their own mind
Be assured that I have only one membership. Also, be assured that I will be reporting every one of your offensive posts. Personally, I'm sick of you insulting the members on this site with your nonsense.
I'm sure others are following suit.
As long as you present positive inputs, all will be just fine.
I don't think it's about one person having multiple memberships (and going to the trouble of flagging posts over and over) but lots of members, instead, who are tired of your games. It's very immature.
Tammy says this removal is not by mods, it’s by multiple reports from members, and this is now being watched as to see who has the multiple memberships to get it removed so fast??? And it will just keep going up till someone is exposed with the multiple memberships.
I have 4 yellows. They are superior to Orange in detail and clarity and that is what I am looking for.
Ozzy --looks like you and I are interested in upgrading the fuse in our DAC to RED ---in my case Lampi Pacific. Let's flip to see who is the guinea pig. LOL
I would rather it be you as I am buying 18 Western Electric 300 B tubes this week.

I like the QSA Blue more than the SR Orange. Less forced sounding, smoother, better mids and more at ease. This is in my tube hybrid integrated amp. I will stick with the Blue. Love it! Three of them in my Int amp.
I replaced the SR Orange fuse and installed the QSA Yellow fuse in the phono stage for the last listening session. This is the same QSA Yellow fuse that I was using in the line stage. Still some trade-offs. I’m beginning to think that the QSA yellow fuses take a long time to fully break in.
Another QSA yellow fuse has been shipped. It will go into the amp, replacing the SR Orange fuse currently in use there. At this point, I’m thinking there’s more detail and perceived clarity from the yellow fuse, but more midrange magic from the SR Orange fuses. Overall, from a musical standpoint, I’m preferring the SR Orange fuse. I’m going to keep a/b/a/b testing. Stay tuned.
As a side note, I’ve a/b/a tested for two of my audiophile friends. One is of the opinion that the QSA fuse really messes up the midrange. The other friend is like me ... he hears the advantages of both fuses.
I am thinking of getting a red QSA fuse to replace a yellow one on my Lumin X1. There is a large cost difference. But, I may be willing if it adds to sound quality.
Can anyone provide their experience on the differences?
I have all Synergistic orange fuses now. Is the general consensus the yellow fuses are superior to the orange fuses ? I have read the thread here with some members saying they prefer this characteristic with the orange fuse but the yellow is superior in this area.

And.....for a couple of hundred dollars, with an iron-clad money back guarantee, you can hear an audiophile fuse for yourself!
Or take some wanker’s word for it who has never tried one, yet feels so strongly about it that he needs to post every page, at least 4 or 5 times saying the same thing......who has never even tried one, mind you.....but you do you and make your own decisions.
Fuse wire is just that, NONE of these "snake oil" fuse companies have expressly said that they are manufacturing their own fuse wire!

Even a casual glance across the landscape- cars, houses, food, lawnmowers, watches, sunglasses - pretty much every single thing you can think of is made better by..... making it better. Every. Single. Thing.
How dense do you have to be to miss that?
Yet somehow out of an entire universe of things that are made better by making them better the one single sole exception is the fuse. The cheapest crappiest Buss fuse simply cannot be improved upon.
This is their position. Seriously. This is their position.

https://www.underwoodhifi.com/modifications/dvd-3910 Ultimate mod edition w/ NOS Siemens CCA tubes. It’s definitely got some meat to the sound. I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Because it was modded so extensively, I will need to open it up and see what the current fuse(s) are rated for.
Thank You for the reply. I am looking forward to One of you guys test-driving these Fuse(s) in a CD/SACD spinner. Which modded Denon player did you purchase?

those whose toxic rage at a world that does not accept the authority of
their opinions—a world that persists in enjoying recorded music in ways
of which they do not approve—accomplishes nothing other than making our
hobby seem repellent.”
I have not tried any fuses in a CD player. HOWEVER, I just picked up a new-to-me modded Denon, and may take a look under the hood, see what’s in there and give it one a shot.
I imagine the "liquid" sound you get from a new fuse might compliment the tubes in it nicely. Probably have to wait a couple of weeks, though.....my audio budget has taken a beating lately and I need to refill the coffers, so to speak. :)
@yoby,
I moved the GR cable from my preamp to my amp, and that seems to have made any fluctuations in sound more tolerable. I’m sure it’s still "breaking in/settling down", but at least it’s more tolerable now. Jury’s still out on this one......
@boxer12,
Agree 100%. Strange to have such a strong opinion on something if you’ve never actually tried it......All I'll add is that bumblebees couldn't fly for 75 years......yet fly they did. ;)
😂😂😂😂And you guys believe what this half baked website says, The Don probably made it.😂😂😂😂😂😂
