@ozzy Which do you like better?  Purple or red?  How would you describe the sound differences?  Is it even possible to tell the difference?

@ozzy Well, imo you put the Red in the right source component.  I get the cost implications.  I can afford it BUT still have a hard time thinking about spending $1400 for a frickking fuse.

@macdude ---once you try SR purple please report your findings.  I appreciate your honest personal feedback.

Installed Yellow into my Lampi Pacific yesterday and have had two days on it.  I did try to paste the 1260 to the end caps but it was almost impossible to install without losing it all on my fingers.  I still have 3 other components to install the yellow fuse to.

Question on directionality...what exactly will you hear if you install the fuse the wrong way?  I have had the SR Black, Blue and Orange.  My assumption has been as you look at the back of the amp, I place the fuse going left to right with the writing on the fuse.  Either i have guessed right everytime or that is the correct way to install.

I am not ready to provide my analysis on the yellow in my Lampi  I am going through a process of picking music that I know I can hear sonic differences. One example would by Nils Lofgren Band Live -Girl in Motion song.  The guitar solos are really good.
George -  while I appreciate your science and opinions about fuses, we have all heard them countless times.  I am not an audio engineer and I just love to listen to great music.  IMO fuses matters.  I would like to hear from more people like myself.

You are free to continue posting as you want.  But I ask you, given that we all know your position, could you please please please just let other people comment on this subject.

Respectfully
Will

An update after yellow fuse in Lampi Pacific for 30 hours.  Definitely can hear a difference.  The tonality is more pronounced and I am hearing more detail even at lower volume levels.  Tomorrow I add the yellow to my Pre-amp followed by my mono's on Friday.
I have questioned which way to point the fuse.  I have 4 yellows in my system.  I questioned Mike from TG's and this is his response...

"It depends on the orientation of the iec input on the back of the component. if the iec input is oriented so that the center contact is below the contacts on the left and right, then the hot is on the right side, and the arrow should point to the left.  If the center contact is above the left and right contacts, then the fuse should point to the right".

I hope this helps others as it provided clarity to me and now I don't need to mess around.  In conjunction with the Townshend Podiums and the yellow fuses the music is sounding pretty damn good.  Next for me is I just ordered 16 Western Electric 300B tubes for my amps.

Hope all have a good weekend.

An update on my yellow fuses that replace the SR orange.  I installed one in my Lampi Pacific and listened for a couple of days and slowly added one to my Pre-amp and Mono Amps.  At first blush there was an improvement in clarity so I was happy,  I then pasted the end caps with 1260 and went on vacation for a week.  When I came back and listened to my music something major happened.  I could not believe the difference.  Better Clarity, 3D imaging, Soundstage and increased separation of instruments.

I am debating upgrading one fuse to Red in my Lampi as I think the source of my music is most critical.  Man I wish there was a lending library as the $1400 price for a fuse blows my mind.
Anyone tried the red fuse?  In what component?  How did it compare to themyellow or violet?
I have 4 yellows.  They are superior to Orange in detail and clarity and that is what I am looking for.

Ozzy --looks like you and I are interested in upgrading the fuse in our DAC to RED  ---in my case Lampi Pacific.  Let's flip to see who is the guinea pig.  LOL

I would rather it be you as I am buying 18 Western Electric 300 B tubes this week.
@kingbarbudaIs this the 1260 paste that was being referred to earlier as an alternative to Total Contact and preferred over Total Contact by (at least) one person here?

No, I used 1260 contact enhancer.  It is $350 for a 1.5 ml bottle.  I don't think it is as good as PPT but I am out of PPT.  Try the Cable Company...they have it.
There is a specific direction to put your QSA fuses in that I published somewhere earlier in this thread.  There was a lot of discussion on another thread which has disappeared today on a prototype fuse that is coming out next month.  Given the debate on that other thread I am willing to give the SR orange fuses another try but absolutely don't want to mess with trying to figure out which way the SR orange fuses go.  I am functionally blind and it is a pain in the ass for me to even install in the first place.  For the people with experience with the SR orange, is there a direction that you would start with or know that it works?  Would it be the same premise as QSA?

@macdude

Thanks for the Purple update. Are the Beesweek fuses directional? Do they state what direction?

I have all yellow QSA fuses.  I would love to hear from anyone who has purchased a QSA red.  Is it worth it?  What improvements did you hear?  Were you able to distinguish a difference in placing it in only one component?  Which component?  If I upgrade I am thinking the Lampi Pacific.

I have the silver jitterplug and the difference was night and day.  I agree that due to its weight and where I have it located it is not a great connection.  I might prop it up with a board.  I had the SR orange Duplex outlet already.  Down the road I will convert to Red / Black or Silver after I win the lottery.

@tommylion

Well, I did go crazy.  I ordered the QSA Lanedri cables including:

Ultimatum Infinity Speaker Cables

Ultimatum Infinity 20amp Power cord

Gamma Infinity Power Cords

Gamma Infinity BNC cable

2 Gamma Infinity speaker cable

1 Ultimatum Infinity Jumper speaker cable

1 Silver horn treated QSA outlet.

I already have a QSA Silver Jitterplug which I am going to try on my JVC movie projector.  The jitterplug alone made an immediate improvement in my system.

Currently, I only have the Ultimatum Infinity Speaker cable and the Gamma Infinity Power cords in my system.  The speaker cables provided a level of clarity, detail, bass and real-life live music feedback that I have ever heard.  I am very happy with my purchase and there was a 30-day money-back guarantee which I am not returning any of the cables.  These are end-game cables for me.

In my old system, I had QSA yellow fuses.  In my current system I just have OEM fuses.  There are just too many fuses in my Aries Cerat components to add them right now.
