Oh, boy! A new buzzword audio companies can use to describe the secret, mysterious, proprietary methods they use to concoct their products. Guaranteed to supplant ’quantum coupling’ and ’UEF Technology’! |
Let's have a seance channeling the spirits of David Faraday, Thomas Edison, Nikolai Tesla and Richard Feynman! I bet they could come up with some interesting approaches! |
There were no typing courses at Case Tech and I've never mastered the skill of paragraphs, on this site. My tab key doesn't function in here and my typing stinks, anyway. Still: no one interested in actually learning something, should have the least bit of trouble following the lines. Only those many, in here, that have chosen to ignore (remain willfully ignorant of) the history of Physics. Back in 1927 Vienna, at the fifth Solvay Conference on Physics, some of the greatest minds on the planet (ie: Einstein, Bohr, Schrodinger, Heisenberg, Curie, etc) got together, to discuss things like photons and electrons. Arguments quickly ensued between those that wanted the universe to make sense, based on classical Physics and/or Relativity and those that were theorizing about quanta (packets of energy) and how so many things, observed in their experiments and in their theorems, based on such as Planck's Constant and Heisenberg's Uncertainty, seemed irrational. Every day: Einstein would come up with an objection, as to why such must be in error and by evening: Bohr would have an answer. As an example: Wave-Particle Duality. Einstein wanted electrons to just be solid particles, all the time. Bohr asserted that they existed as fuzzy/indistinct waves, with no particular position. Only a multitude of possibilities, until observed or detected, at which time, they become particles. Einstein replied, "So, you're telling me the moon doesn't exist, until I look at it?" Anyway, that's a miniscule, much simplified slice, of what took place then. What followed that conference, is a matter of history and experimentation. Some proved Einstein's assertions. Others: Bohrs Probably: the resultant inventions that are most notable, whether you believe them to be evil or not, were the Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs. Obviously Quantum Mechanics works. One of the arguments, of which I was most interested, back in the 60's, while studying Physics, was that of Entanglement (if a photon or electron are split into two entities, each when detected/observed, will exhibit identical properties, whether across the room, or across the universe. Einstein called it, "spooky action at a distance". To make it fit with Relativity, his universal speed limit (speed of light) and make any sense, at all: he postulated that when a photon is split in two, both (at the source) already have those properties determined. Quantum Mechanics stated they exist as wave functions and don't exhibit any properties until observed/detected, at which point the information is instantaneously communicated (again: regardless of distance). No one had a theorem, by which to test that, until a guy named Bell (who I believe to have actually been ambivalent about the whole thing) came up with one. He lacked the means, by which to test his math, however. Then: a couple guys at Berkley, California cobbled some equipment together and proved the Quantum Mechanics view correct, using Bell's theorem. You can deny the facts, until you're blue in the face, BUT, without what's been gleaned from the study of Quantum Mechanics: we wouldn't have a few of the inventions that I'll just bet most of you have in in your homes. ie: LASERs, GPS, anything digital (computers, cellphones, smartphones), semiconductors (ie: diodes, transistors, ICs, etc), the electron microscope, and MRI (well, maybe those two, not in your home). The list could go on. About Nicola Tesla: make fun, if you will, but he's to be thanked for the AC you're enjoying, in your home. His inventions and genius took the likes of you, kicking and screaming, into the Twentieth Century. Everything in this post can be EASILY VERIFIED, on the Net. PROBABLY: the first objection will be, "Too long to read!"
|
@rodman99999 I really enjoyed your post. Thanks for putting the time into it. Without basic scientific research -- hypothesis, theory, testing, invention, etc. -- we’d lack so much that makes live both livable and survivable. Of course, technology giveth and taketh away, too (our clock is close to midnight), so one can only hope that the non-scientists among us can emulate some of the tolerance and rational debate that allows science to form collaborative communities through discussion and debate. |
"...one can only hope that the non-scientists among us can emulate some of the tolerance and rational debate that allows science to form collaborative communities through discussion and debate." Not much tolerance is exhibited in here, nor was during that Vienna conference (from what I understand), but: AMEN!

To start a new paragraph type four spaces after the period then return twice.
Einstein replied, "So, you're telling me the moon doesn't exist, until I look at it?"
For some reason I am drawn to this comment. A very interesting experiment was done with the Hubble telescope: it was used to take a picture of the emptiest part of the emptiest region of space we could find. To our shock and amazement the image was chock full of galaxies, quasars, and supernovas. It would seem there is no such thing as empty space. Not if you look far enough and close enough anyway. Okay. But then why is space black? If no matter where you look there is light, then why isn't it all lit up? When we look it is all lit up. When we don't, it isn't. |
|
"To start a new paragraph type four spaces after the period then return twice." By, "return": are you referring to the Tab key? Thus far: the only thing I'm getting, is a headache! I use the Advanced Columbus Method (discover and land). Perhaps this old dog is just getting to old, to learn a new trick! |
Funny, that you mentioned Hubbel. When Einstein came up with his eloquent little theorem on gravity; he couldn't account for all the mass it would take for a stable/static universe. He had to add what's referred to as the Cosmological Constant (Lamda), which (it's said) he considered his greatest blunder, until he died. In 1998, the Hubbel telescope proved him correct! Shame that he wasn't around for that! Just another case of not knowing what (or having the means) to measure whatever's being argued about (ie: tweeks/snake oil). https://www.space.com/9593-einstein-biggest-blunder-turns.html

By return I meant enter. Whatever they call it on your keyboard that takes you back to the beginning of the next line. Only necessary on certain browsers or computers or whatever that this site doesn’t play nice with.
The thing about the moon not being there unless you look for it, everything is like that. We ourselves bring this entire universe into being. Not that hardly anyone likes to think about it, strange piled on weird stacked on impossible all resting on a solid foundation of unlikely. If a tree falls in a forest and there is no one to hear it does it make a sound? No. It makes pressure waves in air. Sound is an experience only an organism can have.
When we look at the night sky and see a star, we say a photon traveled untold light years to get here. And hit our eye. That one lonely photon. Or more. Whatever. Thing of it is, at that distance how did it know to reach us right when we went to look?
One might say oh knock it off it was shining the whole time. But if so then why was the sky dark? Because if that amount of light was coming from that one star all the time for everyone everywhere it would cover the ground, the night sky would not be dark.
Strange piled on weird stacked on impossible founded on unlikely. Indeed.

Well: I suppose, now that you've cleared that up for me, I'll have to give it a try. I'll be darned, looks like the old dog (maybe) CAN still learn something new, after all! Providing I can remember that, next time I wake up. Far as our particular view of the universe (ie: Quantum Hologram/String Theory is the, "what you see is what you get", Multiverse, Big Bang, and dozen, even weirder); it's my guess, we're all going to be surprised, when we leave this plane. Our minds are comprised of measurable electromagnetic waves and something (some rumors have it) that weighs 21oz. Haven't tested that last one, BUT: I do know that according to the LAWS (there aren't many of those, in the Sciences) of Thermodynamics (the first, actually, being Conservation of Energy), energy can neither be created nor destroyed. So, where does that energy go? Personally: given that science has proven/observed, in the most complete vacuums man can create: subatomic particles pop into existence and are annihilated in a tiny fraction of a second. From where do they originate and go? My best guess is another dimension. (I'll bet the following will generate some responses, far as my sanity or, at least tweak some gourds) What do you bet, when the World's governments finally reveal all the classified data, collected in the past decades, regarding UFO/UAPs; The rhetoric will be, they're from another dimension? Hey, that's pretty cool; the paragraph thing keeps working, even if I go back and add crazy stuff, to prior paragraphs. You've created a monster! |
|
Do you have ARACHNOPHOBIA maybe?? |
LOL! Actually: I DO (on DVD)! OH, and use a REALLY small comb (those are nano-sized critters, that you think you, "got").
|
The energy doesn't go anywhere it's still right here in the universe. Hence the second law of thermodynamics. Energy is not created nor destroyed all that was in the universe in the beginning will be here at the end as random motion of atoms, complete entropy. Jesus what a rambling pile of metaphysical crap. |
Nice food for thought there @rodman99999 . Passing onto another dimension instead of flat out disappearing gives me some solace. Maybe that bright light that's purported to be seen at our passing is just the tiniest of wormholes meant to accommodate our next move. Maybe only certain bodies can accommodate certain energies and all matter holds all energies, with ours being one of the highest orders of energies. Animating these bodies is just the way things are done.

Paragraph.
Paragraph.
Paragraph.
Eureka!

@rodman99999 , Dragon dictate. I got tired of trying to type. You talk to your computer and it types what you say. You have to include the punctuation but otherwise you use normal speech, perfect for an old physicist. I visited Newton's grave in Westminster Abby just before a British surgeon installed a Swedish artificial wrist in my right upper appendage. The inscription in Latin says "Here lies that which was mortal of Isaac Newton." What was not was something else, like those you mentioned. Their invention, the atom bomb, just might save us from ourselves. Maybe there will come a time several thousand years in the future when we be able to deal with each other without it over our heads. Maybe not.
|
For the record, I certainly do not mock the article. My mocking is reserved for the creative 'word salad' that audio enhancement companies use when describing their secretive methods of manufacturing their products.
|
@djones- The less those of your ilk think of me, the more secure in my positions, I feel. Thanks for that!
|
|
@thecarpathian- I understand, perfectly. Always have hated hype! ie: When watching TV, I always mute the commercials. The Mute button on my surround's remote is now dead and I'm forced to press the CD source button, then back to TV, when they're done blowing their crap.
|
|
@mijostyn- At one time: I had designed a hexagon auditorium, sound treatments and system, for a local church, that subsequently hired me to run it, for a couple years. The Pastor wanted the messages recorded, in script, via the computer system in the sound booth and bought voice recognition software, to facilitate that. He spoke with a Texas drawl and some of the results, were absolutely hilarious. The name 'Dragon' sounds familiar. Were they around, some 10 or 12 years ago? Thanks for the tip, but, as is probably obvious: I'm having too much fun, with this new skill(?). Now: if I can only remember to stop hitting the periods, instead of the space bar, before Enter, and having to erase them....
|
@nonoise - "Maybe that bright light that's purported to be seen at our passing is just the tiniest of wormholes meant to accommodate our next move." Some theorists postulate that Black Holes may be wormholes, leading to other dimensions. Typically: I feel like I'm swirling around the event horizon, of one of the largest. Then again: perhaps they're the universe's quintessential toilets? That'll be my luck! " Maybe only certain bodies can accommodate certain energies and all matter holds all energies, with ours being one of the highest orders of energies. Animating these bodies is just the way things are done." When the two scientists at Berkley proved the theories regarding Quantum Entanglement true, the Hippies out there, that were REALLY into Eastern religions, jumped all over it. A few books were written by such. Actually: those two scientists WERE hippies! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Lpf15w6voc Copy/paste this in your searchbar: (quantum entanglement eastern religion books). Have fun!

@hilde45- Sorry about the major thread highjack! |
@tony1954- How am I doing? |
Well, that was quick! From the Synergistic Research website: "By utilizing our Rotonic Pulse Generator in conjunction with our patent pending Dynamic Quantum Tunneling Entanglement Field Dispersement Device , we are able to encapsulate the listener in a ’sonic bliss bubble’. By dispersing the rotons in a clockwise manner (Northern Hemisphere only) we are able to neutralize any invisible ionic room storms that propagate in most dedicated listening areas. This creates a neutral listening atmosphere where pure sonic wave propagation encompasses the listener in a cocoon of purified sound." $3499. 30 day risk free trial. 😃
|
I have some older Synergistic cables (Tesla Apex, a couple versions of AC Master Coupler and Tricon phono cable) and love the enhancements they made, in my system. But GEEZ: the technology mentioned in the OP's article, hasn't even been developed yet (now: THAT'S hype)! Gotta wonder: how long will it take them, to have a set for the Southern Hemisphere? The guys Down Under, have to be chompin' at the bit! Just SLIGHTLY over the top! DISAPPOINTED!
|
I create my own "sonic bliss bubble" by imbibing a good glass of burgundy. The burgundy ends up dispersing the old fashioned way. That cocoon I feel is the good old warm and fuzzies that I always get.
All the best, Nonoise |
bubble not needed if you don’t have a dedicated listening space. Mine is shared with the intermediate wine cellar. IF i squint, it looks like the giant hadron collider….
thank god i work with ex Dwave and Cray dudes, they can help me create the bubble….wait for it…..with software…..
carry on |
Gotta wonder: how long will it take them, to have a set for the Southern Hemisphere? The guys Down Under, have to be chompin’ at the bit! I believe for the Rotonic Pulse Generator to have an efficacious effect in the Southern Hemisphere, one need simply to flip it upside down. Also, the technically correct way to say that expression is ’champing’ at the bit. (No horses were harmed during this correction) |
By return I meant enter. Whatever they call it on your keyboard that takes you back to the beginning of the next line.
Mechanically there are two components that worked in unison. Carriage return and line feed. |
I'm only about 25 minutes into the video that rodman9999 provided and when I came to the pun Fysiks (invented by the hippy physicists), a light bulb went off over my pate. Knowing that Rob Reiner was a child of those times, I wondered when he wrote and directed The Princess Bride, if he named Andre the Giant's character Fezzik, to commemorate, in some manner, those physicists. Fezzik was always considered dense and slow but always came through, not to mention having the worst rhyming puns imaginable.

It's a wonderfully complex universe we find ourselves within...
Potentially, holographic. Great, fantastic detail, and the script of the 'movie' ranges from the insane to the inane. Most involves 'us', but we're just players on the stage....
I look at this keyboard, the desk it's upon, and all the other 'items about' that are mostly 'empty space' but still will FYU if fallen into or down on....
The black of night doesn't surprise, really. Point sources, tiny at these distances....and sheer time. The universe is beyond one's comprehension of 'large'. Ditto age; begin to 'that's all, folks..." 100 trillion years is the best rough guess at by some. And more for most, just tomorrow counts...."Efn' Mondays...."
Rotons......If we find them on Mars (since we can 'hear' there with the proper devices...), Then we've learned just one more byte... "It's not just from living in an aquarium of sorts...." Or is...*L*
How does one really explain life and ones' consciousness of it? Just a bio-eclectic function responding to quantum flows?
A 'spooky action' at close range? Until it's not. Does 'it' move 'elsewhere'? Consider the 'multiverse' conundrum...
"...into the mystic." Another time/place/space/face.
Or not. Nice to chat with y'all in the meanwhile. *G*
'Off topic'? Uh Huh....;)
|
@mijostyn...sythwrist, now I've not heard of such....
...but not surprised, tho.... We be Borg soon enough....
'Cyborg Lifestyles of the Insanely Rich', coming to a 'feed' at your fingertips...or voice recognition...or 'Expression Comprehension' *Trade Mark*...
...or Stare Hard & think Out Loud....
*L* We get to play in the future constantly. |
"Everything in this post can be EASILY VERIFIED, on the Net."
Rodman, do NOT believe everything you see on the net. As time passes, more and more material is false, sometimes through ignorance, more often through intent to put up false and misleading information.
Anyone who believes the net is a reliable place to verify things is SO WRONG. |
We have graphene, buckyballs and dark matter, what more could you ask for... |
"I believe for the Rotonic Pulse Generator to have an efficacious effect in the Southern Hemisphere, one need simply to flip it upside down." Hadn't thought of that! Pass it on to Ted (apparently: he hasn't yet, either and might miss that market).
"Also, the technically correct way to say that expression is ’champing’ at the bit." Funny thing: when I type no more than, "chompin" in my search bar, it automatically fills in a series of ways to say, "at the bit". Guess I'm not the only one that makes that mistake.
"(No horses were harmed during this correction)".
Loved my horses, when I had them (and the rest of my family). I and the ASPCA thank you! |
@clearthinker- "Rodman, do NOT believe everything you see on the net. As time passes, more and more material is false, sometimes through ignorance, more often through intent to put up false and misleading information."
What you, CLEARLY refuse to face, is the fact that everything I posted, has categorically been proven/confirmed, through scientific research and experimentation/testing. Oh: and most of it, WAY before the Net ever existed.
Something commonly referred to as, "HISTORY".
ps: If you're going my make comments regarding a scientific subject: it would behoove you to learn a thing or two (at least) about it, first. Higher education is your friend!
|
@asvjerry - " ...but not surprised, tho.... We be Borg soon enough...." Check this out: http://human20.com/tag/nanotechnology/ After clicking on the, "read more" link, be certain to go, "back" and scroll down to the second part of the article (Timeline To Immortality).
|
"Rodman, do NOT believe everything you see on the net." How are we supposed to believe you, you posted this on the net. |
I mean this in all sincerety, there are many on this thread who are truly erudite in matters of physics and it's practioners. I also now have some understanding of the the concept of "meta". But having a background in marketing and advertising, I presume in the concept of KEF's new LS50 variant, "Meta" means new colors for the enclosure and driver(s) and a fiddled with crossover. |
@rodman99999 No worries -- Best Thread Hijack Ever! I didn't have anything to add just thought that the materials science aspect of rotons (assuming they're a real thing and we figure out what to make with them) might spark some thoughts.
Glad to see people are having fun with this. For some reason the go-anywhere nature of this discussion reminds me of the scene in Animal House with Donald Sutherland and the student, hanging out: Student: That means that one tiny atom in my fingernail could be. . .one little tiny universe....Could l buy some pot from you?"
|
@tomic601 - I really like the way you did your moniker!
"IF i squint, it looks like the giant hadron collider…. "
Not a big thing, but, I like to get details/names right/correctly and believe you might as well, so:
the proper name is, 'Large Hadron Collider'.
"thank god i work with ex Dwave and Cray dudes, they can help me create the bubble….wait for it…..with software….."
All the bubbles I'll EVER need, are already in my head!
|
@hilde45- Animal House is one of the funniest movies ever. A classic I have to watch, maybe every six months. Ever feel like you've known everyone in the flick, personally?
|
@millercarbon- " By return I meant enter. Whatever they call it on your keyboard that takes you back to the beginning of the next line. Only necessary on certain browsers or computers or whatever that this site doesn’t play nice with."
I find it interesting, on this rig: it doesn't matter whether I hit the spacebar (4X), or four periods and the Enter key once, it still Returns for me. Not knowing Enter = Return (and trying to form paragraphs, on this site) was giving me fits. Thanks for helping me learn that trick! Just wish I'd known it, before typing that (felt like so sloppy) dissertation, above.
|
@rodman99999 ....happy you're happy with 'Enter'...;) But many problems stem from PEBKAC....*G*
Y'know, I don't have issues with cybordic humans, basically....'bout the time it will be 'the Thing' to go whole body with, I'll be back into the universe looking for the next 'Grate Idea'....
I've already got pig aortic valve with an onboard pacer/defib. My disinterestexistence literally depends upon it/them... Aids in my ears; stops short of mental defusement, but one can hope....
@hilde45.....*L* Obviously, another stuck in a 'non-legal' state.....;) |
