Looking to upgrade my Goldenear Triton ones. Need help

I’m looking to upgrade my Goldenear Triton ones. I have a Pass labs in-250, Weiss dac 204, streaming with EverSolo DMP a6 master edition. Cables are cardas clear Cygnus. While I love the Goldenear Triton ones. I’m looking for something that has a little bit better mid range. I don’t wanna make a sideways purchase. I’m thinking anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 range?  I just need it to sound better than the Goldenears. Thanks in advance.

All this advice is somewhat moot IMO without knowing what kind of music you listen to.

This might be the right time to upgrade your amplifier and your speakers.....here is a thought:

A pair of Sophia Electric 300B amplifiers and a pair of devore oh baby speakers....You get the great midrange you are seeking...and more..for about your budget;

Having listened to a couple pairs of Sonus Farber speakers lately, if you have a dealer near by, check them out.
BTW, I bought a pair myself that replaced KEF Reference 5 speakers and I’m really happy.

I would just try to add some Stack Audio AUVA100 footers, they do magic to the GoldenEars and the midrange increases like h....  😀. enjoy. KnockKnock12

I auditioned the one’s and found the Aerial 7 t’s much more to my liking.

If you liked the Triton Ones, look at the Triton Reference. I upgraded from the Ones to the Reference speakers back in 2017.  Night and day difference. Gotten rave reviews and the least expensive speaker in Stereophile listing of A rated speakers that are full range, meaning deep low end response and a treble that doesn’t drop off. The T Refs have 2 six inch midrange drivers for a much fuller midrange.

When I listened to the Volti Lucera’s at the Fla audio expo early this year, they were pretty amazing in te mid range. Right in the price range op noted.
For me, there was no more coherent and natural sounding midrange at the show.

I’m just beginning the process but I appreciate the help. There is so much out there and some is just not that good. People who have been down this road before takes away some of the anxiety I have about upgrading

Triangle Signature Deltas. Beautiful midrange and a presentation you will never tire of.

If you have the space used Maggie 20.7 and maybe a couple of subs should give you terrific sound.

@avanti1960 ,

there is a certain level of adjustability in Arc after you run it. I put a small extra bump at 80hz. That’s as far as I went with it. Not sure the full capabilities.

There are not too many brands in that price range, less than 10, that's well reviewed. The last thing I would do is to buy something for that astronomical amount based on the fixation of strangers. Your chances to listen to them before buying is what limits your choices not what's out there.

@wwoolworth

I own the Spendor D7.2 and they have an extra special midrange sound, as does the larger D9.2.

Compared to the GE speakers I have heard at AXPONA over the years including the Triton Reference, I found their midrange to be flat and unpleasing.

I am finding the Spendor speakers extremely hard to top.

@mofojo

is the level and EQ of the 120H active woofers adjustable after you run room correction?

We were a golden ear dealer we had trouble selling them vs the legacy line

The legacy signatures and focus sounded better with an increased soundstage deeper bass and more dynamic slam

Paradigm Founder 120H. Very complete speaker. I had the Triton 1 for around a year and a half. They were pretty goodish. Tekton DIs knocked them off the shelf. Had several speakers after that and always missed the Tektons. The Paradigms I can confidently say are better to my ears by a good margin. I’m pushing my 120s with a pass xa30.5 and a Naim 272 preamp and it’s Really good to my ears.

When you say “better midrange” what specifically are you looking for.  Better or fuller tonality, more clarity?  And are you looking for new or used?
