Now, this is not a advertisement, just a posting sharing my experience on some well made great sounding cables at a very reasonable price. Besides, I don't think Cerious Technologies is set up for a big influx of cable orders.
But, if you get the chance to try these cables, please do.
I have been interested in the newer cables coming out that are using Graphene as a conductor. SR cables seemed interesting, but I always hated the way there cables had all those extra wires (with the active shields and such). I then noticed an ad early in I think November or December from Cerious Technologies for Graphene cables. I investigated how the cables were assembled and it seemed like quite a laborious process.
I ordered (with a 30 day money back guarantee) the balanced Graphene interconnects, and boy did they impress me. Such depth, soundstage, realism, frequency smoothness, effortless sound. I was truly impressed! I now have a complete loom of the Cerious Technologies Graphene cables. That is; interconnects, speaker cables, digital cables and power cords.
I ended up selling all of my other cables and to those of you who have read my postings know that cables have always been my curiosity.
So, as I began this post, let me again iterate, I have no alliance to the company, my posting is for those of you looking for an great alternate high quality Graphene made cable without spending a fortune.
Hello Thaluza, Thanks for the well written and insightful listening impression post. +1 your comments regarding the SR Black fuses. I participated in a comparison between the Coincident, Cardas Clear and Siltech ICs. The Coincident were neutral and open/transparent and I didn't detect edginess. I did obtain the Ocellia Silver Reference cables and preferred them to the very good Coincident. I found the Ocellia more naturally musical, organic and fuller bodied. So I know where you are coming from.
I got mine used about 4 years ago, as you note they've become more expensive recently. Based on your listening it seems no doubt that the CT Graphene are excellent cables and a very exceptional value. I believe that you made the right decision when all factors are considered. Your system must sound wonderful. Charles,
Charles and bugredmachine, thank you. Also, thank you to Ozzy for starting this thread. I'm fascinated with how graphene can make a cost effective and audible difference to an audio system. First fuses and power cables, then speaker cables and interconnects. Each addition for me has had positive results. I'm picking up another fuse this week from my local dealer, which will complete my system as far as the fuses go. Hats off to Bob, too, for keeping the price reasonable. He will be making a 5 meter pair of xlr cables for me, which he explained is very labor intensive, but the price is still much less than I would have paid for premium cables elsewhere.
He didn't answer when I called last time and he says he'd prefer not to talk on the phone. Hey, who can talk on the phone all day.... The man has cables to make.
my best response was when I contacted him through Audiogon. he will eventually will get back to you and you will be very happy with his cables.
Thank you everyone! I have myself enjoyed reading what others think about the graphene products. A lot of experienced audiophiles have been reporting good results, so I had to try the graphene stuff myself. Glad I did!
Quick interrupt, slightly off topic, but not really. Both Djokovic and Murray have been cruising through the French Open, both looking relaxed and winning relatively easily. Would you believe they are both playing with the Head Graphene racket? Coincidence? Placebo effect? Will we be seeing any Graphenes in the Finals which, by the way, are Sunday? Murray just won the first set 6-4 against Stan Wawrinka in the 1/2 finals as we speak.
This just in!!
"Racquet of choice by Stanislas Wawrinka, the VCORE Tour G (330) has impressive stability, plow through and precision. Advanced players who swing big will be able to hit a heavy, spin loaded ball with this one. Even more impressive is this stick’s accuracy on full swings, a fact that should enable aggressive ball strikers to step on the gas and close out points. While the overall feel is crisp, Yonex adds some arm-friendly flexibility to the shaft with its Neo CS Carbon Nanotube material."
Do the carbon nanotubes provide stiffness or flexibility? You decide.
I did say relatively easily. Murray is always such a drama queen. Besides, Murray cruised over Wawrinka in semis, in four sets, 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. Wawrinka if you'll recall was the 2015 French Open champion. With Djokovich himself on cruise control today it looks like a solid Head Graphene final.
I received the CT GE Digital cable (RCA) ans one pair of Interconnects (RCA) yesterday. I've got them on the cable cooker now, for probably three days before inserting into the Integrated 300B system.
I now have a full system of Cerious GE cables including speaker, power cords and a digital RCA cable to connect my 2 Devialets. I previously used Synergistic Research (SR) Atmosphere Level speaker cables, SR Element CTS power cables and a Cystal CrystalDigial Standard digital RCA cable.
Out of the box I noticed an improvement in mid-range clarity as vocals, pianos and guitars became more natural sounding and more enjoyable to listen to. As the GE cables settled in I noticed the entire listening range from lows to highs also slightly improved.
I don't want folks to think it was 'jaw dropping' better as this term is to easily used and SR's new Atmosphere Level 4 cables are no slouch. However even a slight improvement is saying a lot when compared to the price of SR and most other high-end cables.
Bob, keep up the superb craftsmanship and fair pricing.
Don't need interconnects with Devialet. I do use a USB cable to connect my Aurender music streamer/server to the Devialet. I currently use a Synergistic Research USB cable but stay tuned as rumor has it that Bob may be working on a GE USB cable.
The 2 'blue' - high current CT GE pcs on my amps are improving every day and are just amazing. They are,in my system, much better than the HF CT-1 pcs. I still have the 'red' CT GE on my Lumin A-1 and the synergy is superb. My system sounds the best it ever has at this point. I do have a new CPT -300 coming this week to try against the red CT GE on my Lumin. I also have the CT GE speaker cables coming to try against my HF CT-1U speaker cables. That will be a real test for the CT GE cables as the HF cables are superb.
Calloway, Great news regarding your CT GE Blue high current power cords. I think you are going to like the CT GE speaker cables and they are going to outperform the HF CT-1U speaker cables. I agree with a comment that I believe Ozzy made a while ago. The CPT-300 is a wonderful power cord (takes a while to fully broken in) to use on some type of a power strip for front end components.
I placed the CT GEDidital cable on my cable burner for 90 hours and then put it in my secondary system, with great results. I would compare the sonics of the CT GE Digital cable to the expensive Stealth Varidg Sextet digital cable I use to own. Very good bass, mids and highs, an all around good digital cable that's very natural sounding and musical.
Ozzy, I got the Digital (RCA). In my main system I'm currently using the HF UR Digital cable. I have not as of yet tried the CT GEDidital cable in my main system because it's still in the process of break in.
Received the CT GE speaker cables today.,Right out of the box they are .............WOW.....truly amazed at what I hear already. Even my wife said they sounded "much better"..
Hi Calloway, That's quite an endorsement of the Cerious Graphene speaker cables from you and your wife considering the very esteemed HFC CT1 -U you're currently using. In terms of cost this is a remarkable value to obtain this level of performance. Charles,
charles1dad...it is an Amazing value. It changes my previous thoughts on cables as per cost vs performance, that is for sure. The HF cables are truly superb. The CT GE cables just seem to work better with my collection of gear.Today's sound has improved from yesterdays. Classical music is just spectacular. I downloaded Paul McCartney's new HD album today and it sounded just incredible.I ordered a CT GE interconnect today to try..should be more fun coming.Bob really has a great stable of cables.I am not sure how he could/would improve on the current line..He says they will continue to improve over the next period of time..Can't wait..
Read through this whole thread. I am interested in these cable, from the listening impressions I have heard terms, like open, clear, lower noise floor ect.. But not really any comments on if they are more to the transparent and analytical of things, which at times can come across as dry, hard and cold or if these cables offer up some warmth, with some thickness and weight. I can't stand gear and cables that that induce some listening fatigue so I prefer the later. Thoughts?
kclone...the CT GE cables are both toward the warm side and have great weight to them.i can listen all day to them. They are the best I have had in my system.they are the most tonally and musically correct cables I have heard.hope this helps..
I would like to try out Bobs speaker cables. Does anyone know how they would compare to my current Synergistic Research Element Tungston speaker cables. I'm wondering if the CT will outperform the SR cables.
Ozzy,
audiolabyrinth
MAY try the
Cerious Graphene Extremes
but don't expect him to come back and say that the CGE's are better than his Tara Labs - it just won't happen. To him, the best cables in the world are the Tara Labs.
Hi ozzy, you know I will do the comparison in my main system, I would love to know the results, and by chance that the graphene extreme cable's won my favor, I would make out like a king with the money I get for my cable's, absolutely, I would let this thread know!
I can say that the CT GE speaker cables are superb...I bought the pair i tried and they are better then the HF cables they replaced. It just goes to prove that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get amazing cables.Could not be happier..The price point is maybe the best in audio. It doesn't matter what 'audiolabyrinth' thinks..he doesn't have the ability to be impartial. The 'blue', high current, power cords are also amazing.
Hi Calloway, That's quite a strong endorsement from you given your extensive background with numerous upper tier cables. Yep, quite the compliment. Charles,
I used to own Synergistic Research Element CTS speaker cables and upgraded to SR Atmosphere Level 4 last year. I recently purchased Cerious GE speaker cables and I find them a tad better than the Atmosphere Level 4. The Cerious cables present highs better without being shrill. Instruments like triangles were missing until I changed to the Cerious GE cables. I also notice more punch and grunt in the lower frequencies.
When you consider the Atmosphere Level 4 cables are at least 2 steps up from your SR Tungsten cables and the Cerious GE cables are better than Atmosphere Level 4, I believe you'll be happy with the Cerious GE cables.
Once I heard how good the Cerious GE speaker cables were I also switched to Cerious GE power cables (yellow) for my pair of Devialets and my Aurender music server/streamer and a digital RCA cable to connect my 2 Devialets together. I'm delighted with the results as it took the system up another notch.
Wait til you see the craftsmanship of the Cerious cables. It'll make you wonder why companies like SR charge so much for their cables.
I have on order two RCA IC's and 3 power cords, one PC for power amp, one for preamp and one for the power conditioner. I didn't order the speaker cables because I am very happy with the WE 14 gage speaker cables that were touted on Jeff Day's blog. But with the positive impressions of the Cerious speaker cables in this thread, it has me thinking about them.
