Cerious Technologies NEW Graphene Cables

Now, this is not a advertisement, just a posting sharing my experience on some well made great sounding cables at a very reasonable price. Besides, I don't think Cerious Technologies is set up for a big influx of cable orders.

But, if you get the chance to try these cables, please do.

I have been interested in the newer cables coming out that are using Graphene as a conductor. SR cables seemed interesting, but I always hated the way there cables had all those extra wires (with the active shields and such). I then noticed an ad early in I think November or December from Cerious Technologies for Graphene cables. I investigated how the cables were assembled and it seemed like quite a laborious process.

I ordered (with a 30 day money back guarantee) the balanced Graphene interconnects, and boy did they impress me. Such depth, soundstage, realism, frequency smoothness, effortless sound. I was truly impressed!  I now have a complete loom of the Cerious Technologies Graphene cables. That is; interconnects, speaker cables, digital cables and power cords.

I ended up selling all of my other cables and to those of you who have read my postings know that cables have always been my curiosity.

So, as I began this post, let me again iterate, I have no alliance to the company, my posting is for those of you looking for an great alternate high quality Graphene made cable without spending a fortune.

Ozzy I have Andra 2 as well, you got my attention sir, I look at the price of cerious cables they are reasonably price, compare to HF cables they are give away, does this cables sounds more like silver or copper, or solid core or strand, to all cerious cable users how do they compare with the Nordost tyr , heimdall or Valhalla, or audio quest and kimbers, I almost bought HF speaker cables, I feel like this cables as good as the HF cables.thank you

If you saw my posts, I sold all my PCs and interconnects, including a Nordost Valhalla 2 PC, Tara Labs Cobalt PC, Shindo & Auditorium interconnects and replaced such with Bob's amazing cables.  At least to my ears, much improvement for fraction of the price.  A true no brainer and with 30 day money-back gurantee, you have nothing to lose, and believe me you will NOT give them back!!

I didn't purchase the speaker cables due to some logistical issues but probably will some day.

In terms of which type of medal they sound like, not sure if music is a medal, but that's what they sound like!!!

Thanks, Jason

jayctoy,

Oh yeah the Cerious Tech cables will greatly impress you.

They are hard to classify, best I can say is the sound just becomes natural, like the way it should. Somehow with other cables you could always tell that they tipped to one type of sound quality or the other. I have owned so many cables including the ones you have mentioned and the Cerious Technologies Graphene cables is far superior. And they won't cost you too much for the adventure..

Just ordered a low current (RED) PC for my CEC TL-5 CD Transport, and an XLR digital cable. Can’t wait to get them! I heard a substantial improvement when I swapped an SR black fuse for the stock one in the transport. I have high hopes that the GE PC will take it even further. It will be interesting to see how the digital cable compares to the Tara Labs ISM The One Digital I bought in 2001. Even back then, the Tara cost almost five times as much.

I received my 12' Red Low Current Optimized GE power cord for my Allnic H-2101 phone preamp a week ago. I know it was overkill, but I burned it in on my Audiodharma Cable Cooker for a week. I just installed it this morning and am listening to the LP Midnight Sugar by Yamamoto, Tsuyoshi Trio.
I know I should not be surprised, but I'm hearing musical details that I have not noticed before (using some other big named, expensive power cords) and that's one of the LP's/CD's I use for comparison purposes.
Once again, kudos to Bob!

I have my first GE cable on its way.  Its a custom length IC to bridge my amp and preamp that I know Bob wasn't real happy making but I'm excited based on this thread.  Assuming I'm also won over, I'll be swapping out the rest of my cables over time as well.

My impressions will be a bit different from most I've read here.  Most of the feedback has been from users spending crazy money only to be thrilled that Bob's cables are as good or even better for a fraction of the cost.  I've only had cables in the same price range as Bob's pricing so frankly I'm hoping to be blown away.  We'll see.

I also asked about phono cables and Bob doesn't currently make one.  Is anyone using his GE interconnects as phono cables?  If so, how well is it working?

The best way to contact Bob is here at Agon,I emailed on the main web site,it did not go thru, He is quick to response on Agon.
I have not try the phone yet.I am having a second thought
ordering cables, even though I can't wait to buy one.I will wait
till this issue will resolve.Iam sure He is a nice guy.
JSM71 I have the same plan as yours, if everything works, why not change all the cables we have, for the fraction of the price.Keep us updated please...
This cables are getting good reviews,my impressions with the professional reviewers they like them, I don't get that feeling like, wow factor from their experience, is it because they are not 5k or 10k, long time ago anti-cables showed up,by Paul S, many audiophile were impressed, they sold their expensive cables as well,
I did bought speaker cables, I used them ,for a month I realize , they don't have the dynamic compare to my Audioquest cables, I just
hope when I order my first cable from Bob, it will be the opposite.
I'm very happy with all of the CT cables I've bought. If anyone isn't sure, and wants to do some more research before jumping on Bobs band wagon, all of my Morrow cables are up for sale.
@lancelock

" I'm very happy with all of the CT cables I've bought. If anyone isn't sure, and wants to do some more research before jumping on Bobs band wagon, all of my Morrow cables are up for sale. "

Interesting.  I'm currently running Morrow SP2 for my high frequency speaker cable run(bi-wire setup).   I'm thinking of trying out the GE cables.  The SP2 actually sound pretty good, but the dang wires are so small that there is just not much gauge to them.  I wonder if I'm getting all the dynamics possible out of my speakers.
Hi 213runnin,

While I am not comfortable with your tone, I agree that we should all consciously guard against judging and posting about cables and cords without sufficient time for them to settle in and then listening for an extended time to gain a fully-considered opinion of their effects on the sound of our systems.

Many times in the past, I was so psyched about a cable or cord from reading threads/posts (and before that reviews) that I was not able to be objective in my assessment of its sound, at least initially.

Thankfully, I have been blessed with a wife that is oblivious to such bias yet has excellent hearing and assessment skills and values the quality time that we spend together evaluating new cables/cords and other audio gear. She listens at very low volume and can usually peg the effects of the change within minutes while playing music that she is intimately familiar with.

On a few occasions, her assessment was VERY frustrating to me and I tenaciously argued based on my pre-conceived expectations..."Yeah, but listen to how well it does...". Never once has she been proven wrong over time as I indignantly ignored her opinion for a period only to eventually realize what she said was dead on. This has saved me a ton of money over the years by avoiding keeping expensive cable/cord products beyond their evaluation period and then chasing other (often expensive) changes to bring the sound back into alignment.

I am, like you, also cautious of opinions of those that appear to be still in the formation stages of building their system, but particularly of those that have, over the years, repetitively grown emphatically hot and later cold over the latest cable products.

FWIW, I do plan on trying the Cerious Technologies products as many that I have learned to trust consistently describe sonic benefits that I value.

Best to you 213runnin,
Dave
I have been acquiring GE cables as the budget allows.  So far I have accumulated in this order, speaker cables, balanced interconnects between pre-amp and Mark Levinson monoblocks, powercord for ML 326S pre-amp, xlr's between Auralic Vega dac and pre-amp.  Every cable has produced a noticeable and positive improvement imo. Next is PC for Aurender music server when funds allow.

With Bob's 30 day money back policy, it is a no brainer to try his cables. I am consistently surprised and pleased with the sonic improvement with each additional cable.

Scott

P.S. I have no interest's other than a very satisfied customer.

Dave i agree my wife has good ear too, Iam just like you, I usually don't listen to her, but she is always right.many times we have pre conceived bias opinion.

tommylion,

Have you received your cables yet? Digital cables are sometimes difficult to compare, but, I think you will really like the Graphene cables.

jsm,

Congrats on your forth coming interconnects. I no longer use a turntable so I can't comment on your question about phono cables.

You guys are lucking to have wife's who participate. My wife has zero interest in my Audio passion, except to complain how much I spend in time and money on it.

However, she does like watching movies on my 85" UHD Samsung with my audio systems running the front channels.

They should be shipping this week. I am really looking forward to hearing what the digital and power cables do in my system.
I just put my order in for a high current power cable after being disappointed by a Shunyata Alpha HC.
I've had the GE speaker cables and GE IC's  for a while now and really like what I'm hearing. I've got a Melody AN845 integrated that I'm contemplating trying one of the GE power cables with. Just curious if any of you guys have compared Bob's GE pc's to that of the CPT-300 pc?

The price of Bob's cables are so attractive so I'm wondering if the CPT-300 is even close to the price performance you get with the Cerious GE cables..
Hi t_ramey: Read Calloway's post on this thread from 5-24-16. He and some friends did a comparison of these AC cords. Very informative post.
Thanks yoby. Just read it.

Definitely sounds like the price/performance of Bob's cables are a no brainer. Would be neat though to hear how calloway's cables are doing now with more time on them and if any opinion has changed.
t_ramey....Bob's pcs are superb. They have changed for the better since putting them in my system. The speaker cables have done nothing but improve too.I do have a CPT-300 ( Core Power Tech) PC that I use on my LUMIN which also is superb....but Bod's cables are just amazing ....for any price.
For what it's worth, I agree with Calloway.
Other then the CPT-300 (that's the only one I own so I can't speak of the CPT-150 or CPT-50) One would have to spend thousands of dollars to maybe hear a minimal improvement.

+1 lak, I have the same experience re GE and CPT. I esp appreciate Bob's speaker cables.

/Dave (dlcockrum): I understand where you are coming from and at times many like us have been fooled. But considering the price of GE cables and the sincere comments - I always read other postings by the same poster to spot a potential shill (there are plenty at the longest threads in cables) - should give you some confidence to try one for just a couple Benjamins. Unless you are totally DIY, IME the GE versions offer unsurpassed quality for the value (for now).

Bob from Cerious...I am out of the office and will return on Monday. Do not freak out...I still love you and will respond to everyone then. Mark...your order will ship Monday. Where I am is spotty in communication so keep the faith and will get to eveyone then. Thanks!

t_ramey,

I am using the CPT 300 and just received the new CPT 1800. I am using them with my all out Cerious Technologies Cables. The CPT provides a different function (balanced power) but, they definitely compliment the Cerious Technologies graphene cables.

Ozzy having the same speaker like you have Andra.....I am very happy and looking forward to try Bob cables, talking about wife, my wife love going to axpona, she loves the new technic one driver speakers.
Hi jazz,

Thanks for addressing my concerns so appropriately. Several here, including yourself, have credibility to me. I plan to try a GE PC and umbilical on the "new to me" MW 5400ES coming late this week. In the meantime, I have all the supplies coming Monday to build some of ozzy’s DIY HFT-clones. Cheap and fun experiment! Hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Recommendations on which GE PC to order for the MW 9.0/9.0 power supply and then for the MW player itself?

Best to you jazz,
Dave
What’s the break-in like on the GE digital cables? I got my cables in, and put the digital in my system first. It shows a lot of promise right off the bat. I’m just wondering what to expect break-in wise?

Hey rja, thanks for letting me know. I only ask because on the website it only listed rca and xlr for digital. I've been wondering what digital cable to get and would like to try the GE one. Most of my other cords are from twl though, just wondering if I should swap over :3. Anyone else has opinions on that?
@dlcockrum: You want the Yellow Cerious Technologies Graphene power cord for your power supply.

@tommylion; I have found that break-in is somewhere between 50 to 100 hours on all the CT products, but the do sound good out of the box.

I had the Triode Wire Labs American speaker cables and can safely say that the CT SC's are light years ahead in SQ. Nothing against TWL but just can't keep up with CT.
lak: "@dlcockrum: You want the Yellow Cerious Technologies Graphene power cord for your power supply."

Thanks lak. And for the player itself?

Best to you lak,
Dave

@dlcockrum;
Red = Low Current Optimized (like a CDP or Preamp).
Blue = High Current (Amp).
Yellow = High Current...conditioner or a power strip.

@lancelock could you explain what exactly in terms of SQ improved? Like did it have a better definition, or more exact tone etc. It’s a bit hard for me to place what light years refer to, as what we are looking out for in sound could differ. I do not own the American speaker cables though; using the Ultra Black from Tellurium Q, but thought of trying out the digital/power cords first.
Red = Low Current Optimized (like a CDP or Preamp).
Blue = High Current (Amp).
Yellow = High Current...conditioner or a power strip.

Thanks lak. So would not blue be the right one for the Modwright 9.9 power supply vs the yellow? Or maybe there is no downside to using the yellow?

Best to you lak,
Dave
benlzy, the speaker cables made the biggest difference. After some break-in of course, the first obvious change, I noticed more, deeper, tighter bass. It left me scratching my head. I know the cables can't create more bass but instead they revealed what my amp could pull out of my speakers.

After trying many different cables, some very expensive, I feel with the CT there is a more realistic sound or perhaps less coloration. The sound stage is bigger and deeper and none of these changes are subtle. Most importantly I am enjoying the music more.

"I feel with the CT there is a more realistic sound or perhaps less coloration. The sound stage is bigger and deeper and none of these changes are subtle. Most importantly I am enjoying the music more."

This is a good description of what I am experiencing with the digital cable. The sound is more relaxed, more "analog-like", if you will. The subtleties of the music come through clearer, making it easier to connect with the emotion and message.

@dlcockrum,
I’ve successfully used the Blue and Yellow power cords interchangeably on an amp, integrated amp, power supply and power strip. Both worked out very well, however, I no longer remember the difference I heard. I believe somewhere at the beginning of this thread "Bob of Cerious Technologies" gave a technical explanation of the two power cords***. I’m not capable of going into technical explanations, but I know what sounds good to my ears ;-)! For your purpose either the Blue or Yellow would workout very well.

***See Bobs post on page two, dated 4/8/16.

Robt..calloway here. i have a friend who just purchased a used VAC PA 100/100 amp and i convinced him to buy one of your PCs for the amp..which one should he get..?.
Wow! The GE digital cable, at $200, has got to be one of the biggest bargains in high end audio. If I had paid $1000+, I would still consider it "worth it" for the improvements I am hearing.
