Breaking news! Jays Audio is moving to Texas and takes interest in McIntosh

Southwest audio show apparently was a big hit and a great place for audio.

It's nice to see Jay is taking an interest in McIntosh amplifiers. He has a 2 boxes in his lab containing MC 901 dual mono amplifiers that can be used to biamp lots of things including speakers , a tube/solid state amplifier. He promises a review sometime soon.

Additionally he's got brand new speakers and we don't know what they are because they are Hidden behind acoustical panels waiting to be unveiled sometime by Thanksgiving.

Jay predicts his brand will be bigger than southwest audio show.  Jays audio show coming to a Texas town near you.

Looking forward to all the excitement.

What's wrong with the Free State of Texas? You'd rather Kalifornia?

you just answered it

Audio is a wealthy sport. A dorks world. This guy is the king. Enjoy it. No need to try to shut it down. What else are you gonna watch besides all the flix?

@emergingsoul "

The last audio show in Texas brought together hundreds of individualized components that were all assembled in individual rooms where elderly men were shepherded in and out of these rooms, why they don’t allow women to these events is beyond me, it’s just remarkable.

How does anybody discern anything of sonic quality with these horribly set up rooms with all the mismatched components."

The more you post the more you lose the very little , if any credibility you may have had. Dealers and/or manufacturers spend a lot of coin doing these shows but according to you they haphazardly compile components to show. Amazing! And, women aren’t allowed , another ridiculous point. Do yourself a favor and stop embarrassing yourself

Some thoughts about the sonic experience within a hotel room at a show. Each luxurious room offers a variety of components where each one has their own impact on sound and and then enter all the people coming into the room, mostly older gents whose hearing isn’t as good as it used to be, and who are not familiar with these components. how is one to discern the qualities of any of the components on display???

Is it the speakers, is it the amplifier, is it the $40,000 cables, is it the power conditioner, is it the pretty line stage pre-amplifier, is it the glorified Computer masquerading as a server, is it the streamer, turntable, and of course we have the dac. Who is most responsible for all the lovely noise? Probably mostly the speakers and the amplifier. And let’s of course not forget the quality of the recorded music which really can impact the sound. Thank you Diana Krall for all your incredibly well recorded and mixed music, it sounds remarkably good anywhere.

@emergingsoul “Why they don’t allow women to these events is beyond me” Sir are you all right?

Some need the social programs to survive.

Some do. Many just chose this path because it's easier.

Blathering - the action of talking long-windedly without making very much sense.

@facten

I love your system it's really cool. The main speaker tweeters are cool.

I was thinking about modwright preamplifier but they didn't have the Remote set up to to control the power and stuff it's kind of weird.

Thanks for all your nice comments

I come across his videos on YouTube and some I try to watch but he just talks too much” the guest hardly gets to say much without Jay going on and on.

Most host seem to think they have the most important thing to say, in other words they like the sound of their own voice and he’s no different.

I”d like to hear more music and less talking.

Jay had a great show today. He was at a beautiful home with an amazing backyard. It was with a customer who purchased nearly a quarter million dollars worth of gear. Pretty amazing.

Not sure why the acoustics weren’t better in that room, it was an echo chamber and so many windows behind the speakers. But the overall room had no furniture and was just a wide open space.

All the gear was set up and yet they didn't Play the system.  This made no sense to me.  Basically it seemed like an infomercial because he was marketing services.

@emergingsoul So how was it a great show since they didn't play music which made no sense to you, and you characterize it as an infomercial?

Would you spend $250,000 for equipment in a room that just may not work out because of the way it's designed??  That room is gonna be an acoustical challenge it may never work out.

Seems to me he should've bought much cheaper equipment and then worked his way up. Apparently people have tons of money and they can make these types of decisions but that's pretty risky in my opinion.

It would be great if that room would work out because it's amazing how nice it looks.

@ozzy62 You'd be surprised how many in California don't fit the stereotype. Myself and everyone I know included.

I enjoyed Jay's videos where there were audio comparisons of components and the viewer was left to listen. Wish more videos were done like that.

@christianb5s4

I hear ya brother. Keep fighting the good fight out there in the land of fruits and nuts….

I love Jay's Audio Lab channel!   I don't always agree with him but I do admire how hard he works.  How could I be against someone who is trying to better himself.  I wish continued success for Jay and his channel!
