Best divorce album?

The wife and I are listening to Springsteen's "Tunnel of Love" lp and were wondering what other stellar albums of separation or divorce you can think of?

So far we have

Lenny Kravitz - Mama Said
Suzanne Vega - Songs of Red and Gray
Tears for Fears - Raoul and the Kings of Spain

Any other memorable lp's detailing and addressing the artist's relationship dissolution?

(fyi: my wife and I are doing fine)

I agree with the suggestion of Richard and Linda Thompson's "Shoot Out the Lights", but also take a listen to the post-split, follow-up release by just Richard - "Hand of Kindness."  Tracks like "Tear Stained Letter", "A Poisoned Heart and a Twisted Memory", and "How I Wanted To", among others put it all right out there.   (Richard Thompson has written plenty of sad relationship songs over the years, but his music has gotten me through plenty of ups and downs over the years.)  If you're unfamiliar with him, start exploring!!
How about "Get Out of My Life, Woman" by Lee Dorsey, covered by the late, greats Allen Toussaint and Jerry Garcia?
+1 - Haitian Divorce

She's Gone - Hall & Oates

Nice thread, quick answers, I don't have to read a lot :)
Chris Isaac - Forever Blue.  Haunting and depressing as every song seems to be about lost love.

Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead, composed by Harold Arlen, with the lyrics written by E.Y. Marburg
Mingus' Tijuana Moods I believe was recorded on the heels of a visit to the charming border town and in the wake of a divorce and served to inspire a cathartic homage of a relationships demise capturing a particularly vibrant artistic peak with TJ serving as the thematic backdrop to what I’m pretty sure was one hell of a time and is with out doubt a fabulous recording. I can only imagine TJ, mid 50's-donkey show anyone. Oh and SpeakersCorner reissue is tatas!!
vinylvalet, I love Dear Jill for the slide guitar and the clarinet solo...and it's one of the 'cleanest' takes IMHO and ears.  Likely a remaster, but nicely done.

Classic country must be some kind of champion of divorce music, Jones, Conway Twitty to name a couple of many lol. I dont recall weather Charlie pride made any sad divorce songs but if he had I bet they would jerk out a few more tears. Hell of a singer that man whos voice can really get a message across.

+ for Isaac
Roy Orbison

The Stones Honkey Tonk Woman! Because chances are it will be playing during or soon after somewhere lol.
By genre country I would go with Mark Knopphler and Emmy Lou Harris "if this is goodbye" George Strait - "Easy come easy go"
Rock Led Zepplin -"babe I'm gonna leave"
John Daly (yup... the golfer ) / Johnny Lee
"....All My Ex's Wear Rolexes..."

A C&W tune that mimics the Robin Williams interview: 'Divorce is like ripping a man’s genitals out through his wallet’
How about Ry cooder: the very thing that makes her rich (makes you poor)?
Wonder how the slide master got away with singing that one!
Probably many more tunes lurking in my tired brain but this is a great groovy one.
Derek's Ry Cooder pick is such a cool song. Jim Keltner's drumming on it is just insanely great!
For the francophiles, claude francois "le telephone pleure".  Very 70's.
claude francois made the music for franck sinatra "my way".

One assumes that's French for the Teleportation Tweak, Oui?

Absolument!  It is teleportation for me.. .I was 4 last tome i heard it, at a time when couples were divorcing left and right..

Not an album, but the song "Come" from Fleetwood Mac "Say You Will" is a pretty good split-up lyric:

"Think of me every time you don't come".
@slaw  Yes. Coupled with "Brothers on a Hotel Bed" = two devastating songs.

Sting - Mercury Falling (whole album)

The Hounds of Winter
Sting

Mercury falling
I rise from my bed
Collect my thoughts together
I have to hold my head

It seems that she's gone
And somehow I am pinned by
The hounds of winter
Howling in the wind

I walk through the day
My coat around my ears
I look for my companion
I have to dry my tears

It seems that she's gone
Leaving me too soon
I'm as dark as December
I'm as cold as the man in the moon

I still see her face
As beautiful as day
It's easy to remember
Remember my love that way
All I hear is that lonesome sound
The hounds of winter
They follow me down

I can't make up the fire
The way that she could
I spend all my days
In the search for dry wood
Board all the windows and close the front door
I can't believe she won't be here anymore

I still see her face
As beautiful as day
It's easy to remember
Remember my love that way
All I hear is that lonesome sound
The hounds of winter
They follow me down

A season for joy
A season for sorrow
Where she's gone
I will surely, surely follow
She brightened my day
She warmed the coldest night
The hounds of winter
They got me in their sights

 I still see her face
As beautiful as day
It's easy to remember
Remember my love that way
All I hear is that lonesome sound
The hounds of winter
They harry me down

OMG! Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love....the whole thing is a bout divorce. Brilliant writing.
Radiohead / Knives Out (the thing about cutting kids in half is fairly dark)
Lydia Lunch & Mark Hurtado / My Lover The Killer (the whole album is dark)
Elvis Costello,Bert Bacharach   Painted from memory,
A very deep to the core of ones Soul or what was left after for
Some the most devastating thing in their life time.
Something Hard core Rock&Roll  Nazareth Classic -Hair of the Dog.
Love hurts everyone knows, know your mess in with a S.O.B,
To the point, and the last one, Please Don't Judas me. This one I dedicated to my EX. For sure both are Classics.
Sea of Change by Beck is also to the point, but these 1st two
Go to the innards.  Food for thought and s ? Where have you heard this ? The answer i made $$ on . - My heart is like wax and it is melting in the midst of my bowels. The guess who American women. But in reality it is from the Bible in Psalms.
