??? What Is Your Favorite Speaker Finish ???
It depends on how well they are finished.  When the wood has a high gloss finish that looks like glass, it can look amazing; likewise, when it has a very natural low gloss ting oil finish it can look equally attractive.

Which amplifier
Cornwalls don’t need anything near that kind of power.  In fact, just the opposite it true.   If you really want to make them really sing like you never heard before, try a low powered SET amp on them like a 2A3, 45, or 300B amp or a Derek Sanders...
British Integrated Amps
I had the 4330 too, MkI I think?  Not sure I really know the diff between mkI & MkII, a remote perhaps?  At any rate, I thought that it was a truly excellent sounding int amp!
British Integrated Amps
Update:  We’ll, it’s now almost 4 years later and I’ve been in Israel the last 3.5 years.  The prices for used audio gear here is insane, almost double of what you would pay in the US for audio gear.  I managed to sell my Meridian gear (551 & ...
Castle speakers IAG
Incidentally, Castle manufactured the cabinets for ProAc, Monitor Audio, and a number of other British speaker companies, but not sure which other companies?  The ProAc Super Tablettes and Monitor Audio R700MD look identical in their cabinetry.   ...

I had the Durham 900s in Yew several years ago and they indeed very nice speakers.  I’ve had ProAcs (Super Tablettes, Studio 1s), Celestions (C7, SL6, 100s), Missions, Mordaunt Shorts, Linns, Monitor Audio, and Wharfedales and the Durham 900s held...
Anyone else constantly curious about amps?
Oops, in my previous post, I meant to say Dyna ST35 reissue instead of EL84 Dyna mkII as my second favorite amp when I attended that audio show many years back.  That is a great sounding amp.
Which amplifier
FWIW:  I used to sell Klipsch at retail many years ago and I agree with those who said neither amp.  If you really want those Cornwalls to shine like they never did before, put a low powered SET amp on them.
Anyone else constantly curious about amps?
I’m also a tube guy at heart and I tend to keep tube gear a lot longer than when I have solid-state electronics.  I get bored with SS amps/integrateds after 6-8 months and look to try something different; whereas, whenever I’ve had a tube setup (t...
Need to learn about Audio Research
The late Roger Modjeski (of Music Reference & Beveridge fame) started out as a tech before either of those companies existed.  He said he always hated working on ARC gear.  It was always way over engineered and difficult to work on.  YMMV, but...
Rank choice of three turntables
Price, distance, coolness factor, what are your priorities? Is it being shipped or are you picking it up? Are we talking just the TT or complete table with plinth, tonearm, and cartridge?   For me, at this stage of the game (I’m 64), if I went w...
Is a Sophia Electric Baby & Yarland FV-34C MkIV the same amp internally?
Bummer, was hoping and thought the tubes in the SE Baby was the Russian military version of an EL84.  They are probably built in the same factory since the amps clearly resemble each other
What's the weakest link in my stereo set up? I live in a townhome, so limited on space.
I live in a small apartment and have similar limited placement issues.  I have a large LP collection (housed in IKEA Expedit) and recently moved the LPs out of the listening room to a small bedroom in place of a smaller IKEA Kallax and lower speak...
Favorite scream in rock?
Here’s a few from the 80’s:   1.  “She said Shut up!” (Voices Carry by Til Tuesday) 2.  “Look out for the Bikini Whale!” (Rock Lobster by B52’s) 3.  “Shout!” (In a Big Country by Big Country)
