Advise before I regret

Wow. That is a strange question.

The only answer that matters is the one your ears tell you.

Spend some time with the new speakers in your system. Get to know them. Afterwards replace with your older ones. Listen to them for a while. Repeat.  Then the answer should become evident to you.

+1 for Mesch and cal3713.  All that matters is which ones you like better.

I brought the studio 100 circa 2004 home and was pretty disappointed with the resolution tho they did the job I found them boring. The newer models have a rep for being a bit tipped up so maybe you’ll like it better. 

I read about a psychoacoustic experiment where they painted speakers pairs black or white and had a study group listen to both pairs. The majority of listeners found the white pair brighter and more open, the black pair more dynamic even though the speakers were identical to each other. That's one of the reasons I listen to music in the dark~I'm not going to let my speakers fool me.

Why would you purchase a pair of speakers without testing or making sure they are suitable? How long have you had them?

I know a few posters in this forum who have done exactly that, but that another matter. 🇦🇺

You have an av amp and a 2 channel amp? Not enough info on your system or room. Lots of reasons things might be dull. 

Yes running a Yamaha aventege 2080 with an Anthem MC 20 2 channel amp driving the fronts. I bought the paradigm premier 800 speakers yes I played them in the studio with a Yamaha integrated amp liked the brightness over what I remember hearing at home with my previous Marantz 7005 with an Adcom GFA 555-2 with my paradigm studio 100’s v3. Before I sell
 the older paradigm studio 100’s.

The speakers were NOT identical to each other.  One pair was white and the other black.
Consider the philosophical conundrum of making the perfect die - ie in which all six faces are so identical it is impossible to distinguish them.

The older Paradigm 100s were petty good but you need an amp. I would think the premiers may be a downgrade.

I was going from memory (at my age, not a good thing). The article was from an interesting interview with Damon Von Schweikert, son of Albert, in the September 2020 issue of Stereophile magazine. And, of course, I got it wrong.
"For one of the experiments he (Albert) did under Heyser, they designed a two-way speaker. They painted one black and one white-same design. Students did a listening test and filled out a questionnaire: How did this make you feel? What did you think about the musicality? What did you say about the resolution? And by and large, people thought the white speaker was very open and airy and fun. And the black speaker was more dramatic."
This was an exercise in understanding how the human ear-brain mechanism works and how it relates to perception.

The Premiers are a step down. The excellent Prestige series replaced the Studio series. I have listenened to the Prestige 75fs with a Boulder 866, fed by a DCS Bartók. The 75, 85, 95fs are unbelievably good. The Premiers are as cheap as they can make a speaker with current technology in Canada. I have never heard a theater receiver (below $6k) do a good job with music.

The colour prejudice should be stamped out, and be no source of amusement.

I'm no professional but my layman advice is to listen extensively to each speaker and then choose the speaker which sounds best to your ears.

Did you try your Aventage 2080 + Anthem amp > Studio 100 v3 speakers BEFORE you bought the new Premier speakers -

If so, what did you not like about the sound?

I previously had them hooked up to a Marantz sr7005 and an Adcom 555 gFA 2 amp. The speakers seemed to have just allot of mid range and bass not very bright or detail.

The Marantz sr7005 has a reputation for sounding "warm" and the Adcom GFA 555 II with 25+ year old caps in it is known have a "lack of clarity".  Combined together,  will sound about how you describe it. 

I would think the Yamaha Aventage / Anthem amp setup with either set of your Paradigm speakers should offer more detail and transparency.  

Ditch the Yamaha.

People do it all the time and ask others to pick and choose between two products and that's OK. But in the end you should spend time comparing both sets of speakers, don't get in a hurry to reach a conclusion because you could make an expensive mistake. A friend of mine, Dwayne sold me his speakers and went out and purchased some brand new Martin Logan speakers. After a month he became dissatisfied with them and wanted to buy back the speakers he sold me at a higher price, I didn't do it.
