Why Don’t You Post Your System on Your Profile?

Many of you ask others to advise you, but the answer to so many questions is system dependent.  Why don’t you post your system on your profile prior to requesting help?

It seems that this thread has greatly degenerated over the last few pages of posts.  I was hoping to encourage members to post their system.  I continue to believe that your system might provide some perspective and vital information when asking for advice and offer some pointers to those asking for help.  Thanks for contributing your perspectives.

@vonhelmholtz

I think you got your question answered though. About 10% of people who don't post pics don't really care. About another 10% haven't learned how to use the website. The 80%  left that don't post pics are the "degenerates" doing the degenerating by hiding their tacky stereo systems with tactless posting skills, simple.

@vonhelmholtz

You just realized that? Looks like you’re trying to put some distance between you and kotex as he’s not doing your original proposition any favors.

He went way overboard with me and now he’s doing it to bolong. You latched onto him as a crutch and now you want to distance yourself from him. Good on you to recognize a failed partnership. Hope you learned something from it.

All the best

@kota1 i see that you have some images of a small home theater set up on your profile but dont see where you have posted your two channel hi fi set up, is that somewhere else? Im curious to see what equipment your running , thx in advance.

I have a whole house audio system in a addition to the 9.3.8 system in my media room. I will try and post a pic of my desktop system. If you look at the equipment in my media room I have a Sony TAZH1-ES pre/dac/headphone amp. My Paradigm Reference Active 40 speakers have both XLR and RCA inputs with a toggle switch. The XLR inputs connect to my Marantz processor. The RCA inputs connect to my Sony TAZH1-ES. If I want dedicate two channel all I have to do is flip the toggle switch. You can see the back of those speakers with the plate amps in a pic on my virtual system page. Will try and get the desk top posted too.

@bikeboy52

Posted the desktop system. I am a Carver fan boy and the Sunfire preamp/Carver amp makes those JBL 230's sound huge. The soundstage extends from floor to ceiling as well as wall to wall.

@coralkong

You are spot on of course about who the wanna be's are in this thread. Hell, if I had to listen in my car I wouldn't post anything either.

@bikeboy52

Another reason to go with active speakers, notice the XLR and RCA inputs with the toggle switch:

Now I can run the pre-outs from the Sony TAZH1-ES to the RCA inputs. It has its own remote control so it doubles as my dedicated two channel system, tada!

This is one of the most hilarious threads I have yet to see on Audiogon.

Ah, there's that 12 yr old wit.

Ah, there’s that 12 yr old wit.

At least this 12 y/o has a system, LOL.

@kota1

You know, I understand why you think other members should post their systems and personally like when they do.  It is both interesting and provides some background about their audio journey and how you might interpret any advice they give.

You are probably going to take this the wrong way, but you know you just don’t seem like a good fit for this website. @nonoise is our resident rabble rouser, and you are being badly out maneuvered at your own game.

Gee, thanks @jetter.  I've been holding back a lot. Every time he says I have to listen to my system in my car, so many mom jokes come to mind...and they're not nice.

All the best,
Nonoise

@jetter

Since we have roughly the same number of posts I could say the same to you. However, you DID post your system so fine, let's discuss.

I see windows, hardwood floors, and some fine gear. My opinion is if it were my room I would measure the FR of the room and then drill down on room treatments.
Let me know if you need help, NP :)

@nonoise

I've been holding back a lot

Good, you are almost there, just try a little bit harder. Maybe try a new thread?

Oh, you posted a pic of your system? Nice job, but, that isn't the type of "woofer" I would recommend. 😂

and I hear your "expecting" an "active" little woofer who I guess will be the "center" of your attention for a while. I think you started a thread right?

@kota1

Re: your last post, there is a difference in usage between your and you're.

"and I hear your "expecting" an "active" little woofer who I guess will be the "center" of your attention for a while. I think you started a thread right?"

What does that even mean??

Post removed

What does that even mean??

It means that unlike the pretenders in this thread that got nothing but memes to post because they got no game, @ghdprentice doesn’t need to post dumb memes of dogs, he is building an "active center" channel speaker with the kind of "woofer" that we generally mean in this forum (although I get he has two pet dogs from his response).

@roxy54

Of course your you’re correct, thx

@vonhelmholtz

I wasn’t sure if I should laugh, or cry

Don’t cry, that would be even more effeminate.

BTW, thanks for starting this thread, now I got TWO systems posted instead of one.

The fact that you follow cretans like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, taking to heart what they say over there and applying it here, is downright weird. Did you think that even mentioning their names would win anyone over?

Those two are the king and queen of mean tweets and insults as for them, cruelty is the point (which is probably why kota and coralkong fit right in). That explains a lot.

Also, catty, effeminate behavior is the calling card of those that inhabit the spaces that Tucker and Candace dwell in. Where have you been for the last three or four decades?

Thanks (I guess) for that window into your inner self.

All the best,
Nonoise

@nonoise

Give it a rest, @vonhelmholtz doesn't need advice from a guy that has nothing to post but his "woofers". Just go back to your car and:

car making mysterious noises? turn up the stereo - Drown it out with ...

@kota1

Give it up son. Two days ago I did post some photos of my system in an attempt to tutor you in how to take a decent shot of your system. Remember?

I pointed out just how dark, out of focus and poorly composed they were on your systems page and with just using an old iPhone 8s, I posted some rather nice shots of a speaker, my integrated and the gear on my audio rack from an overhead shot.

The integrated was with no lights on in the room save for the TV and the units meters and it came out beautifully, showing tons of detail with great amounts of gradation from dark to light. The speaker and rack were done with just one light on in the living room, showing what can be done in low light conditions. I even threw in a couple extras of a bust and a calevera skull done in low light that came out in fine detail. The only decent shot of your system is one you took from Canuck Audio Mart (the logo is still on the lower right).

And what did you do? You reported the post and had it deleted so you could have something to complain about. What you forget is that it went up quite early in the evening and wasn't taken down until after 6:00am the next day so everyone who follows this thread saw it and had a good laugh at your expense.

All the best,
Nonoise

@nonoise ,

You did indeed post some dandy pictures!

As the saying goes; It's not the arrow, It's the indian...

@bikeboy52  You're not doing anything wrong. It's just that kota1 flagged the post and had it taken down about half a day after it went up. It was too much for him, I guess.

All the best,
Nonoise

@bikeboy52 As you can see from kotex's post right after yours he needed to have the post taken down to continue with his false flag narrative.

@kota1 What's with your obsession with audio and cars?  Were you concieved in the backseat of one? Is that where the trauma's from?

All the best,

I've been following this thread for the last view days and like most long threads it went sideways after page 2.

However after being a member of  this sight since the last century, I finally Posted a system.( or at least started), Thank you all for the push.

As a side note, quite a few post in this thread criticized the site  for being archaic but tolerated it  since it was a Free site.

Funny, I never considered Audiogon a free site but more of a commerce site that offered members  forums to discuss their hobby. I was kind of surprised  that many complaining members with 1K+ post have zero marketplace feedback.

Not really a complaint , I just thought it was interesting

@kota1

I’m in a thread about photos on an audio website and I have both.

You got nothing....

The thoughts you express with the photos you post don't make sense. What are you trying to say? Empty rooms signify...what? Also, that phrase you keep repeating, "you got nothing", is that something you heard all your life? Is it a cry for help?

All the best,
Nonoise
