Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

The Who - Live at the Oval 1971.  It was just released today.  Great to hear the Who in their prime.

I just picked up 2 Patti Smith cds Land and Gone agin..for like,a buck each.

"The Micheal Schenker Group" - goodness, very heavy noisy metal. Would be nice to know beforehand what type of music it is :)

Led Zeppelin II - just setup a pair of Sonos Move 2 on the wall in stereo and it’s a great test to hear the sound bounce back and forth across the soundstage.  Plus it’s an awesome album.

@julie_priest, For your guidance, The Michael Schenker Group (MSG) plays a type of guitar-oriented hard rock and heavy metal music, characterized by Michael Schenker's innovative and intricate lead guitar work, blending blistering riffs with a precise, melodic approach. Their sound combines the raw power of heavy rock with the technicality of a classical musician, featuring long guitar solos that showcase Schenker's distinctive style.

Deep Purple - Made in Japan.  The super deluxe CD and BluRay set they just released.  The Steve Wilson remix is excellent.  It jumps out of the speakers compared to the original album I’ve listened to for years.  Working my way through all 3 concerts from Japan plus the encores.  Great stuff adding to one of the greatest live albums evah.

D’Virgilio, Morse & Jennings | Sophomore

(Nick D’Virgilio of Spocks Beard, Cirque Du Soleil, Neal Morse of Spocks Beard, Neal Morse Band & Ross Jennings of Haken)

Melodic, acoustic-driven pop-folk rock with an emphasis on layered vocal harmonies and a relaxed, yet melodic sound reminiscent of 1970s soft rock acts like Crosby, Stills & Nash.  A complete departure from the Progressive Rock roots of Spocks Beard and Haken.

Tedeschi Trucks Band and Gov’t Mule.  Getting pumped for the show in 10 days.

Neo-prog.

very nice. Sounds like Tony Banks, Chris Squire teamed up with Dream Theater with a little Caravan tossed in for good luck. Plus a little Asia sauce on top.  My new favorite album?

i know many have their favorites; and i discovered, only recently, a two person brother and sister group from Australia...who if you have not heard of them or "listened" to their music, it's worth the effort....they have over a dozen album releases and from each album, there are several very good cuts......Julia and Angus Stone...one of my favorites is "Draw Your Swords"...but there are many others....great for critical listening on the wonderful systems you have.....if you have heard of them, then I know I am speaking to the knowing....but if you have not heard them, try them out....my stereo guy played Draw your Swords for me, over a ARC tube system connected to Wilson Audio SashaV's.......i bought the SashaV's on the spot...and am saving up now for the two 330Ms......hope you give the Stones, Angus and Julia a listen....your ears and heart/soul will like it.

Phil Collins - Face Value and Hello I Must Be Going.  His first 2 solo albums.  Sounds as good as when I played them over 40 years ago.

Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses (2003 CD). Still trying to get into this one. Long time fan of Stormwatch. Would have been nice if the free mp3s of the box set had included the correct and full tracklist but oh well. Not ready to bust my box open yet.
