Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Tonight's lineup:

Joni Mitchell - Blue (LP)

Queen - A Night at the Opera (LP)

The Doobie Brothers - The Captain and Me (LP)
Giya Kanchei "Chiaroscuro" on ECM New Series 2242. Got it with my latest order from Amazon a week+ ago and it just stuck in my CDS3 player... (Believe it or not, I have not yet played the latest from my beloved Assemblage 23 from that same order!). The guy mellowed-down, I do not even have to "turn it down" when The Boss walks into my den... Forget Beethoven or Tchaikovsky violin concertos, this one goes next to Bruch and Mendelssohn in my collection!! The first few min will test your speakers and room reverb as well as Gorecki No.3 or any pipe organ CDs!!! Is this Classical, or Jazz, or Rock? Beats me, it is beyond all that! This is something you hear in your dreams, like maybe Cocteau Twins or Dead Can Dance efforts, but so much more sublime!! I have to get back to Amazon once my next month's "allowance" (self-imposed at $500) kicks in...
OK, one more lunchtime record.......

The Doobie Brothers - Toulouse Street (LP) Fantastic record......

Now back to work.......
Robin Trower - Long Misty Days (LP) Lunchtime Jams!

Listend to Jeff Beck - Loud Hailer (LP) again this morning. I'm still in shock over how much I enjoy this record for a 2016 offering. I don't recall hearing anything new I like better over the last few years. I think it's a great mix of classic and contemporary rock, blues rock and good songwriting. Throw in a big dose of protest and politics and it makes for a great listening session. Oh, did I mention the huge wall of sound? Will make your system sound BIG!
... side 2 has the absolute best cover of "Cortez The Killer" you're likely to hear.

Jeff Beck - Loud Hailer (LP) - Holy cow! My favorite new record from the last several years. Who knew "they" could still make a record like this?....
Chick Corea/Bela Fleck "Two"
Joan Armatrading "Show Some Emotion"
Bob Dylan "Slow Train Coming"
Jeremy Messersmith "Heart Murmurs"
Chuck Prophet "Night Surfer"
Case/Lang/Veirs "S/T"
