The Portway Pedlars – In Greenwood Shades (Greenwich Village 1984)

Hardcore Oxfordshire folk.

Betty Smith – For My Friends Of Song (June Appal Recordings 1977)

Appalachian folk. Love it.

Dan Fogelberg / Souvenirs
1974 Epic

Produced by Joe Walsh who contributed along with Eagles members and others. Nice production and SQ.

Gregg Allman / Laid Back
2015 Analogue Productions RE, orig. 1973

Fabulous SQ on this AP reissue to match the musical content. Quiet vinyl.

@bslon: I myself just happened to return home last night with a copy of Leon’s Will O’ The Wisp in my record case. With J.J. Cale, Steve Cropper, Al Jackson, Duck Dunn, and Jim Keltner playing on it, how could it not be great?! The cover’s kinda beat up, but the disc is Near Mint. Six bucks.

I also came home with a white PVC (okay, vinyl)/Stiff UK copy of Rachel Sweet’s debut album (a long time fave of mine), only one I’ve ever seen. The disc’s white color makes it hard to determine condition, but as far as I could tell it’s Mint. Cool to have, whatever it’s condition. Yes, I buy some LP’s just to have ;-) .

By the way guys, thanks to ya’ll I now have a NM copy of the European pressing of the Little Village album, courtesy of a Discogs seller. Surprisingly moderately priced, even with shipping from Germany (23.74 Euro’s total).

Last night:

Henry Cow - Unrest
The San Francisco Conservatory New Music Ensemble - Cage, Rush, Logothetis and Moran
Henry Cow - Concerts

Monday night was Porcupine Tree live at the Meridian Centre in Toronto.(Not on my turntable but it was Awesome to see them!)

Hello @bdp24, that Leon Russell LP is like comfort food to my ears, it’s been played so many times it’d be hard for me to be without it. Enjoy!

I have three of the five albums in the new box set, but should I still pre-order it…?

+1 on Split Coconut, love that record.  underrated. Crosby Nash sound so good on that record too.

I just had to...

Leon Russell  -  Will O' The Wisp

A day of Steven Wilson remix of Jethro Tull  -  This Was, Benefit, Stand Up

Awesome day of Tull!

The Stone Coyotes - Born To Howl

2001 Red Cat Records

Streaming as they are unfortunately not available on LP.

They are bad to the bone!

@noromance , et. al. Can anyone tell me the best version of Pink Floyd Animals?  2018 remix? Legacy? Pink Floyd Records?  OP?  or another.  Thanks.

@spiritofradio I only have the Harvest UK original and it sounds real good (NM) despite having been played scores of times.

D. Charles Speer & The Helix – Leaving The Commonwealth (Thrill Jockey 2011)

Post removed

String Driven Thing – The Machine That Cried (Charisma 1973)

Quirky somewhat masterpiece.

@noromance Thanks Brian.   Apparently there is a new vinyl reissue of the 2018 digital remix of Animals (remastered for vinyl by Bernie Grundman) coming out soon.  When I posted the question I thought it was already out on Legacy but I guess it had been held up while Waters and Gilmore fought over how the liner notes would read.  I’m hoping someone will do a comparison of it to the original/early press UK.

Various – Intended Play (Matador & True Panther 2011-2012)
Worth it for Esben And The Witch - Hexagons II (The Flight) alone.

I have an early copy of Animals as well as the reissue on Pink Floyd Records.  The mastering on PF Records and Legacy are the same (and the same 3 guys).  I don't know about any other parameters, though, such as plating and pressing.  My reissue sounds a bit bright, but I need to play it again right after playing (at least one side) of my early pressing copy.  I'll let you know ASAP.

Emmylou Harris-Luxury Liner Side 1

Pointer Sisters-Special Things Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Ulrich Schnauss-A Long Way To Fall Side A

The Phil Woods Quartet-Volume One Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Lamb-Cross Between Side 1

Humble Pie-Rockin’ The Fillmore Side 1

Tania Maria-Come With Me(CJP-200) Side 1 SQ Audiophile

Don McLean-ST Side 1

Very good overall SQ tonight only "Humble Pie" hit the average mark. Lamb/McLean were very close to Audiophile SQ status. Phil Woods takes the SQ crown(direct to disc) a demo quality recording. CJP-200 one of the best regarding SQ/Content of the entire Concord Jazz vinyl catalog CJ 1 - CJ 400

John Lennon / Walls And Bridges
1974 Apple

A fabulous album, sans Ono (we’re good with that) but with a long list of fellow musicians. Of course there’s “#9 Dream” and “Whatever Gets You Thru The Night”, but what about “Old Dirt Road”?

J.J. Cale / Troubadour
1976 Shelter

So nice, interesting instruments and sounds with great SQ.

Nice playlist James!
About Animals, I have just 1 copy—1977 Harvest French import in pink vinyl—it sounds really good but not ‘audiophile’.
