George Harrison & Friends - The Concert For Bangladesh.  Apple 1971

My old original beat up and well played copy

Some great tunes being played….will use streamer to hear things i don’t have…love it !
Kona blend, hints of fog at LaJolla, bright sun here…not much break to the surf…Happy Saturday to all !

+1 @bkeske  How would you rate the SQ of The Concert For Bangladesh? Have passed on several VG copies at various estate/garage/yard sales but would like to have in my collection.

@dayglow

Well, I wouldn’t call it ‘audiophile’ SQ, but not so bad for a live recording overall. I’ve head worse. I didn’t purchase it originally for that purpose, but rather, being a huge George fan, it was simply a ‘must have’ for me at the time, and a great collection of musicians getting together for a good cause; As crazy as it was for George to pull it off.

To me, a great addition to any collection, regardless.

Been listening to some Allison Moorer that I probably would have not heard otherwise. Excellent!!

Jim, Let us know how the S Shook is. I bought it without first listening as I'm a fanboy.

Steve - I greatly enjoyed it, dig the rebel stance….she has a unique voice with some edge….excellent

I particularly love Allison  live CD album - Show…. count me as a fan for sure…on this disc she far outshines her much more famous sister…. imo….maybe i have a crush…ha

Oops.. did it again. Forgot to list last nights tunes...

Beth Gibbons-Out of Season
Coheed and Cambria-The Second Stage Turbine Blade
George Bizet-Carmen-Suite 1 . L’Arlesienne-Suiten 1&2 BP HVK on DG
Solitudes- Experimental Sound Experiences Vol-1
Glenn Gould-Beethoven Bagatelles Op.33&Op.126
Dead Can Dance-Spiritchaser

@tomic601 Very evocative vibe on the beachfront you got there!

I'm hanging on headphones listening to appropriate tunes while reading this. Great read.

Steve,

Congratulations on taking the plunge into streaming. Very cool you're able to enjoy music again!

All the best to you my friend!

Dr Dog, LIVE 2 My son gave me this album, fun.

Jack Bruce, Songs for a tailor.

Coltrane-A Love Supreme 2021 Acoustic Sounds Impulse RE.

Chad gets 5 stars for this one. One of my top 3 from last year.

Gil Evans Orchestra - Out of the Cool ( “ Audiophile clear vinyl # 136 of 1500 ) pressing quality abysmal except for when it isn’t…. )

After Jim mentioned Spoon yesterday I decided to check out "Hot Thoughts", as I had previously not followed them anymore after "They Want My Soul". I was disappointed in that lp. Hot Thoughts is very enjoyable streaming on the Grados. Ordering that lp. Gonna check out Lucifer.

Ordering Lucifer as well. Thanks for mentioning Jim!

Wow!...I get the feeling that Spoon has matured into the band that they can be proud of.

Listening to these two albums has really energized me.

Prog mood tonight…

Radiohead: Amnesiac

Porcupine Tree: Fear of a Blank Planet (love this album!)

Moody Blues - Seventh Sojourn

1972 Threshold Records

A Beautiful warm and calming production.

Here's my jazz recommendation for this evening. Sorry, no vinyl.

Ethan Anderson "Every Note is True"

@slaw Which Low? I've been playing them a lot lately. Plenty of AAA reissues of some of their early LPs around.
