+1 au_lait Teena Marie released 9 albums from 1979-90 all have strong musical and lyrical content. Which IMO gives Lady T the title of the queen of 1980’s R&B.

Mingus Ah Um

Great album. Have it on CD, but need the vinyl.

Everyone talks about Kinda Blue, but I really think that album competes with it.
Came in the mail earlier. Can’t take it, so taking a break from work to listen…

Richard Thompson - Rumor and Sigh. Columbia/EMI original EU release, 1991.

In simply fantastic shape. At least M-…..but it cost $$$
Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie - Bird and Diz (Verve), Reissue Mono, Japan 1974.
Various - The sound of Jazz (Columbia), Mono, USA 1958.
Jethro Tull - Songs From The Wood and Heavy Horses on deck. Both on early Chrysalis Records pressings from 1977 and 1978.
Following up on all of the Jayhawks postings. All of the albums of theirs that I have are from my CD buying days so I just had a look on Music Direct and Acoustic Sounds to see what was out there on vinyl. Everything they carry from Blue Earth up to Rainy Day Music are all awaiting repress so I guess I will have to wait.
With that said I have always thought the CD's sounded good. Blue Earth especially sounds really fantastic on the CD release that I have but my curiosity is now up to check out some on vinyl.
Back to this box, symphonies 1-3 last night. Picking up at No 4

Wolfgang Sawallisch conducts Schubert - The Complete Symphonies. Staatskapelle Dresden. Philips 5 LP box set. Reissue, unknown European release date. Originally 1967

David Grisman  "Quintet '80"   Warner Bros, Promo Copy 1980.  If you like strings in a quintet this album is for you.  Pretty darn good SQ, too.

Jethro Tull  'A Passion Play'  Released in 1973, which is when I bought it.  In perfect condition.  A truly great Tull album.  Very good SQ.
@bkeske I have the Mingus Ah Um MOFI One-Step unopened. The one I was listening to was a RSD 60th anniversary release with 6 never released bonus tracks. That one sounds really good. I need to crack open the MOFI soon.
@big_greg

I found a new MOV 180 gram version pressed in 2010 for a decent amount, so jumped on it. Thanks for the impetus. Been thinking of getting this on vinyl for a while now.
Brian, the one-step is sold out.  I can't recommend it wholeheartedly as I haven't listened to mine yet, but if it's in the same league as the other ones I own (and from what I've read about it, it is), then it's worth seeking out.
Brian, I looked for the best possible recording quality, short of the one-step (because it's no longer available) and found this to be very well reviewed and reasonably priced, considering the 45 rpm and other attributes.  It's currently on backorder but that will change, eventually.  I will be placing my order and be patient for the eventual good surprise of the package on its way.  I hope this helps.

@big_greg

Well, the one positive is the MOV, or any vinyl probably, will beat the pants off my CD version 😁
Just arrived:

Lucinda Williams "Happy Woman Blues"
2018/Smithsonian Folkways Recordings
Sir Neville Marriner conducts Bach - The Art Of Fugue. The Academy Of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. Philips 2LP box 1975, Europe release
Natalie M - Motherland ......heavy pressing, clamp sucks the life outa it.....
Antal Dorati conducts Haydn - Symphonies No. 97 & 98. Philharmonia Hungarica. London Treasury collection 1976
Tomic,
That has been my experience as well with clamps in combination with double MyMat's. The double MyMat's are awesome without any.

Lou Reed / New York

I haven't used a clamp since I got my double MyMat system.  I'll have to try a clamp just to hear what the difference is.  I typically don't use a clamp anyway, unless there is some serious warp to deal with.  I will play an album with no clamp and then play it again with a clamp.  An experiment, in a way.
the 140 g (? ) 80’s Clapton pressings benefited....a whisker

Junkies - Trinity ( the 2 LP AAP set.....just lovely.....messing w Hana loading now...ha. )
