What are you streaming tonight?

As we are in the modern age of music I thought I would see how this fares.
We have threads specific for cdp and tt so why not streaming as it is a modern media.
I don't care if you stream Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Paradise Radio or any number of internet stations.
I would like you to share your tastes and method of streaming.

@simao  - Were you referring to  Ned's Atomic Dustbin - "Brainbloodvolume"? Pretty good album, but doesn't rise to the level of the first two, IMHO. I really like "God Fodder" and "Are You Normal".
Natalie Bergman - Mercy, Qobuz Hi-Res.  I almost passed by this one because... well, let's just say that gospel music isn't really my thing, but she has a great voice and the music and recording are really nice and the songs are uplifting.  I ended up really liking it.
@reubent yes, and you're right in that it doesn't capture the magic of the early-90's indie vibe that NAD and Ride and others created. "Godfodder" is a classic of the genre.
Alex Chilton - Boogie Shoes: Live on Beale Street, Qobuz.  This is pretty cool!
Areni Agbabian - Bloom

Qobuz Hi-Res

Ethereal experimental jazz that will affect you.
Nick Drake - Pink Moon

Qobuz Hi-Res

A singer/songwriter who died too young.  I have a few singer/songwriter albums in the queue for today.
Tim Hardin - Tim Hardin1

Qobuz

Another singer/songwriter who died young. I’ve never really listened to him before, and an article about singer/songwriter albums mentioned him.  “Reason to Believe” (later covered by Rod Stewart) is a beautiful song.
Van Morrison - Latest Record Project, Vol. 1 - Qobuz Hi-Res.  Van sounds angry and resentful on some of these tunes, which is a bit of a put off (for me), but there is a lot of "classic" sounding Van on here as well, which makes it a worthwhile listen.
The Black Keys - Delta Kream, Qobuz Hi-Res.  This is pretty cool, a set of low-key Mississippi blues covers.
Saint-Saenz Symphony No.3 / Franck, conducted by Jean Martinon, if you like classical this is one of the non common composers which could surprise you
EDIT, found it on local DSD, did not even remember I had it

@big_greg man that (Crawling) Kingsnake track has such a large Soundstage, very nice thanks for sharing
It sounds like it was recorded with some echo or reverb effect was added

@luisma31 I listened to it on my near field system, which doesn't do a great job with soundstaging. I'll have to check it out in the main system!
Well either way thank you @big_greg , my boy (13) came down from his room and his video game to ask what was it I was playing, I explained the Mississippi Blues / blues genre, he asked if that was same as country, then he got me going, played some bluegrass for him and some blues as well, then I went to Charlie Daniel's and his iconic song, we continued into some swing with Louis then Duke, God I don't know how then we went into Eddie Van Halen and Malcolm Young and he spent quite some time with me listening to Van Halen then AC DC, found some Alana Bridgewater singer from his video games (not bad), then at some point it was too much for him and he told me enough for today.
I think tonight has been the day I listened more with my son, my daughter 16 joined as well but she was less interested.
My experience, priceless.
Good night everyone

Juliana Hatfield - Blood, Qobuz Hi-Res.  Reminds me of some of Liz Phair's best work.  Apparently recorded at home during the pandemic.
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Déjà Vu (50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) - Qobuz Hi-Res.  I don't know what they did to this, but holy smokes does it sound fantastic!
Khruangbin - Mordechai, good stuff. Style/class of its own. But I like their middle album, Con Todo El Mundo, better.

Also listened to The Black Keys Delta Kream recently. That stuff is right up my alley since I’m already a Junior Kimbrough and RL Burnside Fan. They also used two guest musicians who played with Junior and RL. Also love the Eggleston cover art. Ironic that it is the "Delta" Kream since the music on the album is hill country, not Delta blues. Anyway, the Black Keys do a heck of a job on this one. Great stuff. The CD is on the way.
CSNY - Deja Vu, Qobuz. It sounded so good on my computer system I had to check it out on the main system.
Sara Bareilles - Amidst the Chaos: Live from the Hollywood Bowl (Live from the Hollywood Bowl), Qobuz Hi-Res

Bachelor - Doomin' Sun, Qobuz Hi-Res.  This one is getting favorited.  Good stuff!
black midi - Cavalcade, Qobuz Hi-Res.  If you like King Crimson, you might like this.
Whew!  Been on the road for the past 2 weeks and I am finally home and chilling on Qobuz.  First up is the new Twenty One Pilots album, (Scaled & Icy).  My granddaughters favorite musicians.
@16f4 What did you think of Moby Reprise?  I was kind of disappointed.  Sometimes I like it when artists re-work their catalog, but I don't think he did any favors to his previous work.
big_greg

i enjoyed the Moby album.   I haven’t sat down in front of my system in a couple weeks, having been on the road and taking care of my parents, so  I could have been in bliss listening to The Shags, for what it’s worth.  I did really like “We are all made of stars” and his cover of “Heroes”.
@jlss49

Thanks for posting bout the Lars Danielsson.  I have Liberetto I - III.  Didn't know about Cloudland; something new to explore.  Thanks.
@16f4 I might not have been open to receiving such a different version of his work when I listened.  Funny how your mood / attitude can have such an impact on how you perceive things.  I know I had a little bit of attitude going on, like "he's milking his past, he must have run out of creative energy" when it could have just as easily have been "he's willing to take a risk and reinterpret his work".
Blackberry Smoke - You Hear Georgia, Qobuz Hi-Res.  Good stuff!  I especially like the track which features Warren Haynes as a guest (All Rise Again).
@ghosthouse

lar's music is so lovely ... so many of the act artists make achingly beautiful music... the label is making a wonderful contribution to the jazz music scene
@jjss49

Agree with you about the ACT label. Quality repertoire. Kinda reminds me of ECM in that regard.

Another recording to check out if you haven’t come across it (in somewhat the same style as the Liberetto music...similar "mood" anyway): Espen Eriksen Trio - Never Ending January.  A great title given that’s how the last 12 - 18 months have seemed with the pandemic. It’s like the summer of 2020 never really happened.  Anyway, it is on the Rune Grammofon label. You can find it on Tidal.  Hope you enjoy.

I note your use of the word "jazz".
Had previously found myself wondering about whether that applies to the Lars Danielsson stuff or the Espen Eriksen, etc. Their studio pieces seem highly structured without much (obvious) improvisation, at least as recorded but I can well imagine these ensembles opening up and stretching their legs in a live setting. The jazz label fits, though maybe not to the "traditionalist".
Pure Prairie League, top tracks, Tidal. Could listen to “Amy” nonstop. Ran today streaming Michael Jackson Top Tracks. Forgot how much good music he produced.
Liz Phair - Soberish, Qobuz Hi-Res.  If you liked her debut, I think you'll like this.  This might be my favorite new release of the year, definitely one of them.
Louden Wainwright III - Dead Skunk (In The Middle of The Road)

Qobuz

Friday afternoon and the summer weekend has begun!
John Coltrane- Both Directions At Once: The Lost Album (Deluxe Edition)

Qobuz Hi-Res

Dobet  Gnahore - Couleur

Qobuz Hi-Res

Wonderful west African musician and singer, originally from Côte d’Ivoire. Upbeat, danceable and introspective.  It will put you in a good mood!
