His system will come up.

I tried to look up maghister to check out his system again and his username comes up as "not found".    ????   Any ideas?

I just looked at his history and wow! I think you guys summed him up.

You can build a really great sounding system using older components.  Older Counterpoint, HK, etc.  These can be upgraded to almost reference quality components.  Even the old Lafayette KT-550 power amp is a bargain and competes with current gear.

Maybe he can get himself started by getting a job.

Maybe there is someone in this group that could help him get started.  We should all be thinking this way.  There must be some equipment that is laying around that could be put to good use.

Maghister, like me, is big into room acoustics.  You don't have to build your own acoustic panels, plenty of good sources.  GIK and ATS acoustics are great places to start.

Get enough money to buy a ticket to a movie or a live concert, it will probably be better than anything you can get at home, regardless of your budget.
