Do you have a perfect digital marriage? Esoteric NO5 streamer/DAC fed by fiber optic ethernet from NAS into McIntosh C2300 tube preamp, MC500 SS amp, Tannoy Churchill’s
Need help: Tannoy or B&W? I’ve had both and both are excellent speakers. IMO you can beat Tannoys for soundstage and imaging. In my main system I’ve settled with Tannoy Churchill’s with super tweeters. I can literally walk around the room and get great stereo imaging. They...
Bose buys McIntosh I felt kind of sick when I heard this but then I realized that McIntosh was as owned by Clarion in the 90s. Point being, that really didn’t affect their products at all, and as time went on so did Clarion. They are truly an American survivor. No b...

McIntosh MC312 vs. ARC Reference 150 +1 @crustycoot and +1 @stereo5
Challenged with Going from Integrated system to separates + @oddiofyl I use my McIntosh MX120 in Home Theater Bypass mode with my C2300. Works great.
Thoughts on Cardas RCA Caps I use them, but haven’t really heard any difference. I use shorting plugs on my vintage gear on unused phono inputs. I regard both items as more of a preventative measure, rather than an actual sound tweak. My 2 cents worth. |
