Back in my college days (early 70's), there was a 'Procrastinators Club Of America'. I thought it to be in step to wait awhile before joining. Recently I found the Procrastinators Club Of America with a simple Google search. I reached out to the link and got someone else. Nice enough to return my inquiry, he stated the once President had died and it basically is floundering in a slow death. If anyone of you wonderful members out there can assist with reaching this organization, it would be much appreciated. Please don't procrastinate too long, I'm old now and according to my doctor, I am "lucky to still be alive". Thank you in advance, ArizonaBob
After reading the review link I posted, I understand why I kept and used them in various systems for over 40 years! I now sort of want to get the 3140 serviced and find somewhere to use it. |
I keep meaning to procrastinate. I just never get around to it. |
Probably if it's priced right. I've had numerous NAD products over the years and always loved them. |
@barts , "Shops are not kind to ancient 'out to pasture' audio gear." A couple of 'spring shop scrubs' ago, took down the Sony receiver & 5 cd player, and the SAE 2 band & channel parametric eq; the latter the only 'vintage' of the bunch. The SAE and the player are essentially sealed or opted to not hassle to do more than vac, clean the obvious, lube as req'd.all that moves or slides.... The receiver, with the case top and sides off had a eighth- to a quarter-inch of sawdust on anything 'top-up'.....but, Hey...SS, A/B... Can't kill it with a stick...

I had a Sony carousel CD player for my garage/shop. It played for many years and then it wouldn't read a disc, then it would a week later. This went on for about a year(!) Then I finally had it and ripped it apart...down in the bowels of this thing I discover that the drive belt is barely there, limp to say the least. Well, by then it was too late, trash. Regards, barts

@mitch2 ....depends on 'pedigree', condition, and sometimes just a case of " I used to own 'X'..." and 'resistance is futile'....*laugh* @czarivey ....Has the coveys' sorcerers come up with a better routine to 'dis-spell' the haunts then that last one? ....that 'pour boiling light oil into all of the openings and connections, shake vigorously overhead while shouting "CAD!" repeatedly.....' ( Control Alt Delete :'The Blue Screen Shield of Last Retort '....) |
Is there a market for old/vintage NADs? (no, not those "old nads"!) Integrated amp with phono stage, power amp, and tuner, all from the way early days (early 80's), all work, and they could use a good home where they are appreciated. |
LOL @davidrolon |
You wisely had the restraint not to impulsively start taking it apart, ending up with a pile of screws and other parts that, try as you might, could not get back together to no avail, forcing you to put everything in a cardboard box in the basement/garage to deal with "one of these days", despite your significant other’s pleadings for you to throw the damn thing away.... |
